Everly Dean’s life hits rock bottom and she has the worst birthday ever. She catches her boyfriend sleeping with his assistant. However, she takes the rock bottom and won’t let her anxiety hold her back and makes a change for this to be her year. On her radio show, she ends up dating a ton of men in a bachelor like program. Will she choose someone or will she fall for someone outside of the program?
This book reminded me of One to Watch mixed with The Ex Talk. I liked how Everly has anxiety and a dysfunctional family. That makes her seem real. I like how she took something bad and made good out of it. Now, the problems. I really did not feel like the two main characters had any chemistry and that Everly was naive and horrible based off stuff that happened years ago to the other character. She would find things to not let the relationship happen. Some of that could be from anxiety, but it was frustrating. This book was a big miss for me and it had a great premise, but wasn’t executed well in my opinion.

A breath can make you sense the world in more richer ways and the more you have the better you experience the world. You can give other people breaths and you can control inanimate items with breath. The God King is supposed to get a wife and Idris sends a different daughter to be his bride. Siri wasn’t supposed to be the bride and her older sister Vivenna was supposed to, but she must navigate the palace and court while learning about the world she is in. Vivenna wants to save her sister from Hallandren and the God King. But, she gets in a bind. War is looming between Hallendren and Idris. Will they all be able to stop the war?
I’ve been warned that this book starts off slow and I can attest that it really does, but I still enjoyed the world building with the character development. I really love the relationship between Susebron and Siri. I would totally be bored not being able to really leave the palace like Susebron and Siri because they have to be protected. The mercenaries in this book were hilarious. I enjoyed all the characters and loved Lightsong. I really love the humor Brandon Sanderson makes. This book came out around 2009 or 2010 and this book needs a freaking sequel! I need more. I totally recommend this book. Also, I only read this between Words and Radiance and Oathbringer because supposedly I’ll see characters and things in Oathbringer. But, guess who starts Oathbringer tonight?! Me!

This book is told in multiple view points. Daisy marries Hal at age 20 and he is 33. Could there be something wrong with that? She also dropped out of college for him. Years later they are raising their teenage daughter who is a handful. Diana had something horrible happen to her one summer at the age 15. It’s hard for her to trust and made her drop out of school to become a waitress. These two characters meet and become friends.
I went into this book blind and I’m glad I did. I really loved their friendship and Beatrice. All these characters were complexed and it was great. I loved how twisty this was and because I went in blind, I did not see the twist coming. I definitely recommend this book.

This follows Lou, Reid, and their friends and they are fugitives based off how Serpent & Dove ended. They are on the run and must hide. Morgane still poses as a threat and they must defeat her.
I put this book off for a year. Yes, a year. Why? You ask. Because people said this book was not great and I planned on rereading Serpent & Dove, so I pushed it off. Well, I never reread Serpent & Dove and when Gods & Monsters came out I got fomo and wanted to read the last book. It sparked me into reading Blood & Honey. Was it bad as people say? In my opinion, no. I actually enjoyed this and wish I read it sooner. I don’t think it is as great as Serpent & Dove, but it was still enjoyable. I definitely agreed this is perfect of fans of Sarah J. Maas because Lou reminds me a lot of Aelin from Throne of Glass. I love the humor in this book as well as the action. The romance is pretty good. I was annoyed with how Reid was always did not want magic around and how everyone forgave Lou so easily. With those two things aside it was good and I can’t wait to see how Gods & Monsters wraps everything up.

Stevie solved the murder mystery at her school and is now famous. She receives an offer to go to a camp to solve the Box in the Woods murder mystery. Four teenagers go into the woods and are brutally murdered. It has never been solved, but we know our girl Stevie can solve anything. She is allowed to bring her friends to camp to work and they all become involved with the case.
This is probably one of my least favorite books out of the series. I loved seeing Stevie and her friends. There was some humor. But, I feel like the big reveal was pulled out of thin air and that everything became rushed. I feel like we didn’t have enough screen time of her actually solving the case and everything happened off screen. This one was just ehh.

Cal is a retired cop and moves to a remote town in rural Ireland. A boy seeks him and asks for his help because his brother is missing. Cal finds something amiss.
This is my first Tana French book even though I own a few of her books on my bookshelf that I still need to read. This looked interesting, so I picked it up on audiobook. I thought the mystery was intriguing and that the payoff was well done. However, I found myself bored most of the time I was listening. It was just okay for me.

There are 6 finals girls and they all meet together in a support group. Adrienne doesn’t show up to the meeting and everyone finds out she was murdered. After that, everyone seems like they are in danger. Lynette believes someone’s after them, but they think she is just crazy and paranoid. Is someone after them?
I really enjoyed this, which is rare for me when it comes to thrillers now a day. Lynette did come off crazy and paranoid, but I liked it. I didn’t expect the twists, which was nice since I tend to guess twists lately. This book was fast paced and I didn’t want to put it down. I totally recommend this book!

I tried this book in 2020 and didn’t make it that far and didn’t like it. Well, now in August 2021, I tried it again, but this time as an audiobook. I actually enjoyed it this time and really loved the love story between Alex and Henry. I liked One Last Stop a lot more, but I thought this was a fun book and recommend it to others.

Mary has to attend a different high school. She is a devotee of classic novels. She ends up compiling the Scoundrel Survival Guide, which is a rundown of literary types to avoid at all costs. She’s better at giving advice then actually taking it. She discovers life is different than fiction.
I loved that Mary would make literary references to things. It made my book heart sing and I feel like any bookish person would love it. I loved when she made references to Jane Eyre, which is my favorite classic ever. I did find Mary to be naive and this book to be juvenile at times. It just wasn’t my cup of tea.

I really find this book to be unique. We always hear of Cinderella losing her shoe and Prince Charming going to all the fair maidens to try on the shoe to fit, but we never have seen Prince Charming vowing to kill her because she was cursed to be a dragon. I find this to be refreshing. I really liked Cinderella and Sikandar as characters. I love how he gives her chocolate cake with his magic. I like how both of them try to help one another and find ways to break the curse. I think this book was well done.
