The Story children have been cut off by their mother for doing something they don’t know what they did. About twenty-four years later, the Story grandchildren receive a letter inviting them to Gull Cove Island for the summer to work and to meet their grandmother. Their parents are more than willing to let their kids go since they could be re-inherited. The children as cousins do not know each other. When they meet together on the island they learn some fishy things and want to get down to why their parents were cut off and what did they do.
This book really isn’t a thriller, but more of a mystery. I loved the twists and it kept me wanting to know why they were disinherited and what they did. I did like the past point of views from Allison as well. I do think the last twist was not plausible and does not make sense because it is kind of impossible to pull off. You will know what I’m hinting out if you read the book. I still think it was good and entertaining.

Kiss the Fae opens up with Lark waking up and realizes she has slept with a poacher. She doesn’t want them to take any of their animals and ends up being chased into faerie territory. While in the territory, her sisters come. Usually when someone comes into faerie territories, no one leaves alive. However, they are able to leave just fine. Yet, later that night they all disappear to one another and meet different Fae. A night later, they are given instructions on how to play a game to win their lives. They must go into separate territories alone. Lark meets a cunning Fae and they are enemies. Will they stay enemies for long? Will the three of them survive?
This has more adventure than romance and that’s why I docked it a star. I get easily bored when stories focus heavily on adventure. It’s still good though. I enjoyed the enemies to lover trope and enjoyed all the characters. I really want to see more world building and meet more characters. I’m hoping I can get that in book two. If you want a steamy romance, then this is for you.

Naya had been in a bad relationship that dealt with abuse. Three years later her friends create a list for Naya to complete. One night she goes to a bar and her friends bail due to stuff coming up and she meets a guy named Jake. She tries having a one night stand with Jake, but ends up puking. He ends up asking her out the next day. So, begins their relationship. He turns out to be a consultant for her work and she worries it will ruin her reputation or get her fired. What will she do?
I found parts of this book to be cute and it was definitely fast paced. I felt kind of distanced between the characters and was wanting more. I felt like the dates were cut short and that it was more focused on their sexual relationship. It’s still good and I recommend it.

Luc lives in the public eye due to his famous parents. His dad was never there for him and he is close to his mother. His father tries getting back in his life. Luc needs to appear fine to the media and decides to fake date Oliver who has never had a scandal and is basically good. Fake dating kind of seems like real dating, so could they fall for one another?
Boyfriend Material was a hilarious rom com and I loved it. It made me smile a lot. It was full of banter and just a face paced read. I felt like it did drag in a few places though.

Adam has a secret. He has schizophrenia and is trying to live a normal life after he is kicked out of his school due to an episode. He must attend a Catholic school even though he is not religious. He meets Mia, who becomes his girlfriend and tries hiding his mental illness from her. He’s taking an experimental drug as well.
I first found out about Words on Bathroom Walls when I went to see it in theaters a few months ago and it made me instantly want to read the book. I had a connection to both the book and movie. While I don’t suffer from schizophrenia, I suffer from bipolar disorder and I totally understand having to take meds to try to feel normal again. I know how it feels having to switch meds and find a right cocktail or find out the med doesn’t work for you to keep the symptoms at bay. I love Adam’s point of view and his view of his mental illness. There is a stigma against mental health and this helps break it. I do wish there was a little bit more depth to this book, but I really enjoyed Adam, Mia, and his family dynamic.

Lowen’s mother just died of cancer and she has a meeting to go to. On her way to her meeting a guys head gets crushed under a truck and blood gets splattered all over her shirt and face. She meets a stranger on the street who helps her get cleaned up and offers his shirt. She makes it to the meeting and runs into the stranger once again. He is the husband to Verity Crawford, a famous suspense writer. Verity has been in accident and needs a co-writer, but the public doesn’t know the severity of Verity’s injuries. Lowen is given an offer that is hard to refuse and she eventually ends up taking it. With being evicted from her apartment, she goes to Vermont to their home to go through Verity’s office so she can find things for the next three novels. She ends up finding an autobiography and things change. Everything is not as what it seems.
Verity is definitely a creepy novel and you don’t know what it true and not true. I loved the chapters that showed the autobiography and how chilling they were. Then having to figure out if Verity was faking or not. I loved it. I do feel like the ending was not super satisfying.

Avery tries to blend in. She lives with her sister after her mother dies and sometimes lives in her car when her sister’s abusive boyfriend is around. One day she is called into the principal’s office and told a bombshell. She is to attend a will reading of a man she has never met. At the reading, she finds out she has inherited everything. All the Hawthorne brothers don’t even trust her or think she is the last puzzle piece game that their grandfather has left.
The Inheritance Game was good and I enjoyed all the riddles and puzzle pieces we were given. I could never figure any of it out. I do wish some of the twists or the ending to be a bit more shocking and surprising, but I still enjoyed this book and look forward to the sequel.

Emilia and Vittoria are twin witches living in Italy. Their family runs a restaurant and Emilia daydreams of making new recipes. One night, Vittoria dies a gruesome death with her heart being ripped out of her. Emilia wants to avenge her death and finds out Vittoria has been dabbling with dark magic. Emilia decides to summon a demon to help her look for Vittoria’s murderer who has been killing other witches.
Kingdom of the Wicked is fast paced and exhilarating. I couldn’t put it down and wanted to know who killed Vittoria. There was a lot of twists and turns in the book. I enjoyed meeting the four princes of Hell. I really want to get to know more of the princes and see more of the world building.

Lara is sent to be a bride to Aren, a King of an enemy kingdom. The goal is to bring the kingdom down. But, what happens once she gets to really know the King and his people?
The Bridge Kingdom is filled with a lot of action. There is a lot of political intrigue. I did find myself bored a bit and wanting more to the romance. The ending wasn’t super satisfying for me and I guessed one little twist. Still a decent read.

Adraa is put in an arrange marriage to Jatin at the age of eight. She ends up slapping him and then they don’t see each other for another nine years. When they do run into one another they don’t even know who is who. They end up giving each other fake names and partner up together to find out who is stealing and selling Adraa’s firelight. Will they fall for one another? Who is behind the firelight? What dangers lurk?
Cast in Firelight is a delicious read. It has romance, mystery, and a lot of action. I loved that Jatin and Adraa both didn’t know who each other is and show their true selves to one another, which they would have never done if they knew who each other were from the start. The world building was great. I really want to see more of the world and its inventions. You won’t regret this read.
