Celia and Anya are best friends and are inklings for the religion of Profeta. The ink is for the Divine and their will. This is a noble calling. However, they want to escape and get a chance when a traveling theater trope comes along.
Ink in the Blood was very slow for me for pacing wise. I didn’t even know that the tattoos had any purpose until I read the synopsis. I found the story to be confusing at times. I did like the friendship and the traveling theater trope. This story was not for me and I almost dnfed it multiple times. I will not be reading the sequel.

Rating: 2.5/5 Stars
Initial Insult follows two girls-Tress and Felicity throughout life. They were friends, then they were not.
Initial Insult is marketed as a thriller on Goodreads, however it is NOT a thriller at all. Yes, Tress’ parents disappear, but we don’t really go in why they disappeared and what really happened. There is one time Tress calls the tip hotline and that is it. That’s the only way it goes into it. I didn’t like how Felicity and her mother looked down on seizures and how horrible they are. Yes, they are deliberating, but the mentality they share is a bit disgusting in my opinion. They think it will make them lesser people and that she will never get married or have anything if she shows others that she has seizures. I really didn’t like that and how they just talked about it. The beginning is really juvenile. I found it hard to follow at times because the book jumps time periods and point of views, so jumping in mid chapter was confusing. This is a character driven novel as well. I did like the friendship progression and see the hardships they went through separately.

Queen of Volts takes place after the bloody ending of King of Fools. We follow Sophia, Lola, Enne, Levi, and Harvey as they try to beat a dangerous game.
First of all, I didn’t like Ace of Shades, but I LOVED King of Fools and now Queen of Volts. Queen of Volts is super dark and gritty. There is a lot of blood shed and deception going on. There is romance, but not a lot. Each character is connected to one another and there is a lot of character development since book one. I really enjoyed all the characters and the darkness of the book. The ending was a very satisfying ending and wrapped up wonderfully.

Ash’s mother dies in a gladiator fight. Madoc is fighting to pay his family’s taxes. Ash recruits Madoc to help her.
I did not finish this book. I just couldn’t get into it and it felt flat to me.

Ember wants to take down the Red Court because the Red Court injured her sister years ago. Ember makes a plan to get accepted into the Red Court and bring the Queen of Hearts down. Ember is recruited to the Red Court and learns more of their secrets and puts strains on her relationships.
These Vengeful Hearts is marketed as a mystery thriller, but I wouldn’t say it really is. It is on the darker side though. Honestly, Ember really didn’t have a plan and how the take down happens was not that great. There was romance too, but it was made out of no chemistry. This was a meh story that had a lot of potential.

Rochelle Evans is a 16 year old who goes by Elle. However, her best friend Lee and his older, hotter brother calls Elle, Shelley. Elle is in student council and her and Lee must come up with something great for their booth for the carnival. They brainstorm and brainstorm. They finally come up with the idea for the Kissing Booth. They ask a bunch of friends if they could help with being kissers. People want Noah aka Flynn to be a kisser. Elle asks him and he says no. So, they go on with the kissing booth and the people helping them. At the kissing booth, Elle ends up needing to fill in for someone. She has never been kissed. The person that kisses her is Noah! They end up making out. This leads them to secretly dating and sneaking around so Lee and everyone else doesn’t find out.
First of all, I LOVE the movies. I think they are beyond cute and super good. So, I had to read the book. I was able to loan it out on audio from Libby. The book was so cute. I love the friendship that Lee and Elle have. Noah and Elle are super cute too. The romance is just adorable. The one thing I don’t like is how jealous and controlling Noah could be when other guys showed interest in her. I can’t wait to read Going the Distance next to see if it follows the movie well. By the way the Kissing Booth movie and book are very different on how things happen.

Going The Distance takes place in Elle’s senior of high school and she is still dating Noah, who is a freshman at Harvard. They are dating long distance. When a new boy moves into the area, Elle starts becoming friends with him. Will she start having feelings? Then, at Harvard, Noah is hanging out a lot with a gorgeous girl. Could he be cheating on Elle?
I picked up Going the Distance today and binged it. I couldn’t get enough of it. I finished it within a few hours. That’s how good it is. First of all the plot is different than the movie. In the movie we have Marco as the other love interest, but in the book the other love interest is named Levi. Levi has a lot of backstory, which I love and is a part of their group. In the movie they are competing in a dance competition so Elle can win the money for college. That doesn’t even happen in this book. Elle is focused on her friendships, school, and her future and of course Noah. I thought this was super cute and a fun read. I wish there would be another book to tell us where Elle ends up.

Feyre is a human and her and her family live in poverty. Feyre goes out and hunts to give food to her family and to earn some money from pelts. One day while she is hunting, she kills a massive wolf and suspects he is a faerie. She kills with hate in her heart. One night in her families cottage, a massive beast barges in and demands for Feyre to come with him to pay the price of killing the wolf. Feyre obeys, but feels guilty that she can no longer care for her family like she promised her dying mother. Can she let herself be free and trust the High Lord, Tamlin? Will she allow the blight that is affecting Pythrian to seep over into the mortal lands?
I cannot believe this fourth reread and I never have reviewed this. I picked this book up in 2016 or 2017 after looking at Barnes and Nobles looking for popular YA books because I felt like I didn’t know what was popular at the time. I’m so glad I picked up when I did because I fell in love with it. Each reread gets better. I love all the characters and the world building. These books are just greatly written. I love the last chunk of the book where it has you on the edge of your seat. This book always makes me crave the sequel.

Raybearer was a hard book for me to follow. I listened to Raybearer on audio and it was hard to follow. I wish I read this physically. The characters were great and I enjoyed what I could follow. I will try to read or listen to the sequel.

It’s a book about pirates and I love it. Fable was abandoned by her father on an island. She wants to earn her place on his crew and seeks out West’s help.
I really enjoyed this and loved the way Fable tried to get to be apart of the crew. I loved her relationship with West. The romance was okay, but could have been better. Saint was an interesting character and I want to know more about him.
