A Court of Thorns and Roses
by Sarah J. Maas
Feyre is a human and her and her family live in poverty. Feyre goes out and hunts to give food to her family and to earn some money from pelts. One day while she is hunting, she kills a massive wolf and suspects he is a faerie. She kills with hate in her heart. One night in her families cottage, a massive beast barges in and demands for Feyre to come with him to pay the price of killing the wolf. Feyre obeys, but feels guilty that she can no longer care for her family like she promised her dying mother. Can she let herself be free and trust the High Lord, Tamlin? Will she allow the blight that is affecting Pythrian to seep over into the mortal lands?
I cannot believe this fourth reread and I never have reviewed this. I picked this book up in 2016 or 2017 after looking at Barnes and Nobles looking for popular YA books because I felt like I didn’t know what was popular at the time. I’m so glad I picked up when I did because I fell in love with it. Each reread gets better. I love all the characters and the world building. These books are just greatly written. I love the last chunk of the book where it has you on the edge of your seat. This book always makes me crave the sequel.
