Ink in the Blood by Kim Smejkal
2.0

Celia and Anya are best friends and are inklings for the religion of Profeta. The ink is for the Divine and their will. This is a noble calling. However, they want to escape and get a chance when a traveling theater trope comes along.
Ink in the Blood was very slow for me for pacing wise. I didn’t even know that the tattoos had any purpose until I read the synopsis. I found the story to be confusing at times. I did like the friendship and the traveling theater trope. This story was not for me and I almost dnfed it multiple times. I will not be reading the sequel.
