This was the perfect read to start off September! It started out slow, with the drama between Nickie, Jeremy and our FMC Remi. Jeremy I feel just tries to keep the peace between the two girls, but Nickie rubs me the wrong way. I don't feel like she's a good friend and it made me feel so bad for Remi.

I loved the demon-hunting secret society! Also all of the other trainees. I can see them all becoming the most amazing found family🖤 Once the plot started to pick up, it really took off for me and I finished the it in one sitting 😅

I love Josh & Remi together! They're the definition of forbidden love, destined for ruin. It hurts my heart but in the best way possible lol. I'm still on the fence about Kal. I'm not sure where he really fits in. Is he just a love sick guy crushing on Remi or does he have some other kind of motive?

I can't wait to see how Remi takes that bomb Father dropped at the end. I have so many theories on what could happen in book 2 after the two massive ass cliffhangers the author left me on. I'm literally hanging on for dear life over here 😂

Definitely recommend this to anyone who binge watches Supernatural, or loves secret assassin societies 😍

Thank you so much to the author and Hayling Bookstorm PR 🖤

“For you, yes.”

“Stop trying to run from this. I am well aware of the little wall you built between our connection, but know this, I will always find you.

Because even at the height of danger, I wanted only him to protect me.

His very essence invades my mind. It’s like a sickness with no cure.

My heart is so full🥹 I felt all of the emotions! H.M. Wolfe did such an incredibly, amazing job at describing what healing looks like after a manipulative and abusive relationship.

The beginning seemed a little slower than the rest of the book, but it set everything up so perfectly. I wouldn't have been as invested in everyone the other 70% of the book if not for the beginning.

It's been a hot minute since a book has left me completely speechless on what to say afterwards lol. I have SO much I want to say and express, but I don't want to give too much away because it was such an emotional and "sucks you in" read. I couldn't put it down once I started. I just need everyone to read The Book of Cin so y'all can know who that woman IS. Because she is IT. Hyacinth goes through so much personal growth and finds a village to rally behind her. Cin grows from hating herself because of a "man" to being the baddest bitch there is and I am here for it! And the way Landers and Ata have her back? Yes😍 Get you a man who supports you in everything and a best friend who would go to the end with you.

I'm so grateful to have received an ARC from the author. Especially since this will be my new Roman Empire book. I need more of them. I need to see how Hyacinth continues to grow into who she was meant to be🥺🖤

For my readers. For the ones who suffer silently. You will not break.

“Loyalty through hardship is one thing, Hyacinth. But loyalty through cruelty is another.”

“What are you, girl?” ... “A woman to fear.”

“You are mine. You do not belong to me, but I . . . I belong to you.”

"I will die before I let innocent people of the realms suffer at the hands of men like you. If I must become a killer or a monstrous entity, if I must become the very God of Hell itself, then so be it.”

Of Monsters Of Kings starts out in a dystopian style world 1200 years after "The End". There's gangs, breeding pens, and walled cities. I thought I knew what I was getting into, but not was I wrong😂

Once Patch's mom does, she starts to go through this transformation of turning into a true monster. We go from dystopian world, to magical Victorian era fantasy! I loved the transition and how the farther I got into the book, the more "ancient" and Victorian it became. Patch never sacrificed her choice or her will though. She stayed true to who she is, even though her body and spirit went through some insane changes.

The world and story itself went into enough detail for me to understand what's going on in the *now*, but has me extremely curious and needing to know more about the past and what lays ahead. I loved this book, but feel like I missed a lot of little hints just trying to understand what everyone was saying 😅

Now, the Princes and the Kings. Each one has good and bad qualities and I liked d that it was clear they were just as lost as Patch was but in very different ways. I can't wait to see what the Princes decide, how the Kings take it, and what becomes of King See and Patch. I loved them together but See has some seeing to do towards himself if he thinks Patch will just hand herself over 💁🏻‍♀️ I'm excited to see where the series goes, especially with that cliffhanger, and I have high hopes for it!

Thank you SO much RRBookTours and the author for the gifted copy!🖤

A simple thing, really, how I came to know of monsters. People were monsters.

Maybe they didn’t realize that every light was possible because of a darkness.

“She blinds me, and yet I know she is my possibility.”

Honestly, I was already in love with this when I heard that it was Caraval but dark and gothic. The world and atmosphere was creepy, spooky and mysterious. I thought all of the main characters were pretty fleshed out. Each had their own internal struggles.

I loved everyone. Ophelia and Blackwell were amazing together! Even though I saw the twist at the end, I still absolutely loved it. As the eldest sister in my own family and someone who struggles with their own "Shadow Voice", I related to Ophelia a lot. I think the author did an incredible job of showing what it's like to have burdens from both places on your shoulders, while also acknowledging that it IS okay to ask for help.

I was so worried that Genevieve wouldn't be the little sister I wanted her to be! I was so mad and frustrated with her at the beginning of the book, but by the time they are reunited I'm in love with her and can understand why she did what she did.

This book brought out SO many feelings and I love it. I can't wait to read more of Kaylie's books🖤

Thank you so much @netgalley and @kaylsmoon for the eARC!

To those who’ve had to claw their way out of the dark and still choose to be a light in this world— I’m proud of you.

“Besides, if all of my inner demons were destroyed, there wouldn’t be much left of me.”

“In a different life, in a fair one, I would’ve kept you until my eternal soul withered away to dust.”

I put this on my TBR list I have on Libby for books that have super long waitlists and completely forgot about it until yesterday morning. I was going through trying to figure out what I was in the mood for and BAM. Here stood this absolute GEM 🖤

I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, wanting to come through the pages and scream at Ruth. Bottom Springs and the powerful that live there were so much more than I thought. I believed in the Low Man until the very end, but loved the turn of events. It was so satisfying after everything Ruth and Everett endured growing up there.

Everett and Ruth are amazing too. They were truly that all encompassing love that burns you up, and that you dream up as a child reading fairy tales. Just the super dark version 😅

There was so much that came to light and so many small mysteries entangled in one large scheme. And that ending?! 😭 I love that it was open ended, but I need to know if they make it. I refuse to believe anything else.

I would say that this book is best read going in blind, but the TW are a must read since there are some heavy topics in it.

That had to be the worst kind of prison—the one whose bars were buried under your skin, invisible cages around your heart and mind.

"I thought once that you might be the answer to the only prayer I ever made. Or my conscience—my heart, beating outside my body."

"I love you, Ruth. Of course I love you. It’s the only thing that’s ever redeemed me."

This was such an amazing adventure and quest! I loved every character and felt all of the emotions with Alira and Clay.

The world building was fantastic. I felt like I was on the road with Alira, navigating all of this craziness with her! She went through such a brutal physical and mental journey. From deciding to leave her village, to all of the obstacles she faced on the road, to all of the knowledge and help she gave and received. She's just so wholesome and I'm rooting for her 100%!

Clay had a ton of growth as well! He was the local flirty boy before, and now he's taken off that naive lens. He went through some tough shit though 😅 I felt so bad for him! He didn't deserve none of that.

I have so many questions about Arila! What the vagabonds mentioned and what happened at the end. I can't wait to see which house they visit next🖤

Thank you so much to the author for the ARC copy!

To the one who seeks adventure. May you overcome all fear.

Her worldview makes me want to study the ways of the houses with her and maybe, just maybe, figure out if her kindness could be something more.

I secretly relish the thought of seeing her face when I find her. I want to see her recognition and relief turn into something more.

She knew Clara would need a lyrist. She knew she would be the one to play the hymn, and she made damn sure she knew how to play it just right.

This is the second book to the Fey Academy For Spies series.

Vale of Dreams completely exceeded my expectations! I loved this SO much more than Avalon Tower🥹

Raphael and Nia were good, but that shit he pulled when Nia rescued him? Ugh, I could throat punch him. I understand he thinks he's doing the best he can, but why be so stubborn?😩 The authors did such an amazing job of making me dislike a character so fast.

Now, Nia and Talan? 👀 I like them. I LOVE them! They are just immaculate together and I am here for it. The banter is top freaking notch. Tension? Sizzling. Chemistry? 1000% Enemies to lovers? The definition! And they aren't the only character combo that I love. Every friendship or enemy relationship in this series so far is incredible.

I also loved all of the foreshadowing sprinkled throughout Vale of Dreams. There were so many more little hints than Avalon Tower that has me STRESSING over the next book🫠 I feel like where Avalon Tower left me with a lot of questions, Vale of Dreams left me with a better understanding of the history, world, and character dynamics.

I was already holding my breath, crying, and gasping so loud I scared the dogs the last few chapters. I can't wait for the next in the series! This has easily become a favorite series of mine.😌

Thank you so much to the authors for the ARC!

"If I fucked you for real, Nia, I can assure you that you would not need to fake it."

"Watch your back. The cards show me endless danger for you." ... "Endless danger? Must be a Wednesday."

"You might loathe me, but you are mine now, and if anyone tries to burn you at the stake, I'd make them wish they were never born."

"For some reason, I feel like I know you." ... No one knows me, though, do they?

"Some day, Nia, I will learn the full truth of who is underneath that master."

I loved this just as much as the first! I was already excited about getting to go on another mystery with Quiet and Rorick, but everything that happened?! AHH! I love how SL Prater still made this feel cozy while also absolutely terrifying me with the specters and the bigger mystery that was happening throughout the story.

I loved how their relationship started at the beginning of the book and how we got to see them as a true couple throughout. I would reread this duet just for them alone!

The story itself though? Its just incredible. There are so many tiny moving parts between characters and the world that I was constantly trying to piece everything together alongside Quiet. I was also begging Rorick to just spill the beans too 😂

Towards the end, I started worrying that everything wouldn't get wrapped up or would feel rushed, but it didn't. I just couldn't see how close all the pieces were to falling in place and I was SHOOK 😅 I was bawling at what I thought was the end then crying tears of joy by the time I read the last page of the book 🥹

Thank you SO so much to the author & BookSirens for letting me ARC this book. I have definitely found a favorite author and books I will reread for years to come 🖤🫶🏻
dark mysterious slow-paced

I went into this book pretty blind. I knew that it was about Maya and her return to her hometown after her best friend dropped dead for apparently no reason.

It alternated from past to present, but there isn't a clear indication at the beginning of the chapters, you kind of just have to catch it. I honestly loved that! It made the story flow more smoothly for what it was and kept me wholly interested.

I thought that the ending was something paranormal or supernatural regarding Maya's ancestry on her dad's side of the family. The ending was still super shocking and made me real-life terrified because that could happen to almost anyone and how would you know? How would you make everyone believe after all these years, you weren't crazy at all?

Frank was a creep from the beginning, and the only thing I didn't like about the ending was that we never find out what happened to him. This was a great, mysterious read that gave me a new, very real, fear 🫠
