Vale of Dreams
by Alex Rivers, C.N. Crawford
challenging
emotional
tense
medium-paced
This is the second book to the Fey Academy For Spies series.
Vale of Dreams completely exceeded my expectations! I loved this SO much more than Avalon Tower🥹
Raphael and Nia were good, but that shit he pulled when Nia rescued him? Ugh, I could throat punch him. I understand he thinks he's doing the best he can, but why be so stubborn?😩 The authors did such an amazing job of making me dislike a character so fast.
Now, Nia and Talan? 👀 I like them. I LOVE them! They are just immaculate together and I am here for it. The banter is top freaking notch. Tension? Sizzling. Chemistry? 1000% Enemies to lovers? The definition! And they aren't the only character combo that I love. Every friendship or enemy relationship in this series so far is incredible.
I also loved all of the foreshadowing sprinkled throughout Vale of Dreams. There were so many more little hints than Avalon Tower that has me STRESSING over the next book🫠 I feel like where Avalon Tower left me with a lot of questions, Vale of Dreams left me with a better understanding of the history, world, and character dynamics.
I was already holding my breath, crying, and gasping so loud I scared the dogs the last few chapters. I can't wait for the next in the series! This has easily become a favorite series of mine.😌
Thank you so much to the authors for the ARC!
⚔️Favorite Quotes⚔️
"If I fucked you for real, Nia, I can assure you that you would not need to fake it."
"Watch your back. The cards show me endless danger for you." ... "Endless danger? Must be a Wednesday."
"You might loathe me, but you are mine now, and if anyone tries to burn you at the stake, I'd make them wish they were never born."
"For some reason, I feel like I know you." ... No one knows me, though, do they?
"Some day, Nia, I will learn the full truth of who is underneath that master."
