Champions is now written under Jim Zub, and it's getting better.

Story: So this starts off with introducing a new character. Snowguard, which I believe she is brand new, as I have never heard of her, joins the ranks of the Champions. However, we learn about her origins and such in title. When the champions are attacked by a bunch of robots and nova seriously injured they look to a foe for help...on top of that Alpha team with Captain Marvel might come face to face with the Champions. If that's not bad enough by the end the Champions must face off against Thanos...things are not looking to pretty here.

Art: Mostly solid. I actually enjoyed alot of the art at the start. However, when it crosses over the infinity war countdown stuff with Thanos the art looks a bit sketcher. Little bit lineish and messy. However, there's some epic shots, including a fatal shot and a badass scene with Thanos. The art is very vibrant and colorful.

Enjoyment: The fights are great. Big and explosive and the kids powers are all unique and fun. I also think the Thanos face off give this series a lot of upper stakes. The first time the kids actually face something they can't easily beat. I also think the pacing is pretty good and always moving at a nice steady pace.

What Didn't work: I think something about this team is still missing. It just feels bigger now, with Riri and Wasp joining the team. Then a new teammate. It's growing in size, but maybe too big? I think things like Teen Titans work with 5-6 core members, this is almost 8 now. Also crossovers don't always work, and it felt forced here to something major happening to two characters. One being kind of silly.

Overall, enjoyable. Stronger than the last one I read, volume 2. I hope he continues to push on since I do like most of Zub stuff. I hope to connect more to the characters as I read on! A 3 out of 5.

Wayward ends as it began for me. Decent fun.

This is the final volume so the big war is to come. It actually is a big ass war, lots of running, lots of fighting, and a hell of a lot of death. This bloody war comes to the conclusion after our heroes all work together to stop the demons from coming into their world. Of course it's pretty much one big fight scene so it goes quick and it's a lot of fun but lacks the emotional punch I think it's going for. I'll give Jim Zub credit, some deaths did surprise me. I also still enjoy the overall design. While these characters never really worked for me the overall themes and story were fun enough to read till the end. A 3 out of 5.

Story: Basically broken into three parts. We start off with the aftermath of the defeat of Thanos. The Champions aren't feeling very heroic, Riri is scared now, and Sam lost his power. So no one is doing very good there. Then we roll into a single issue of a school shooting that's actually done very well, and covers our heroes dealing with that. Last but not least the heroes go into the "weirdworld" dimension and are now dressed up like knights and warriors and such.

Art: Still vibrant as ever. I really dug a lot of character designs for this volume because of the old setting of midevil type suits. I also think the emotional moments connected well thanks to the reactions, faces, and body language characters had when the school shooting happened. Art is one thing this series always did well.

Enjoyment: Between the solid art and emotion-fueled school shooting story this volume stands out above the rest. I even really liked the story with them dealing with the Thanos loss and the swamp thing storyline. All that was good. It gave us strong emotional moments, character growth, and new storylines for each person.

What didn't work: I honestly thought the weirdworld story was kind of bleh. I know what it was going for but it didn't really work. Too cheesy at points and kind of dull, with a ending you can see coming from a mile away.

Overall a stronger volume than the last one but not mindblowing. Inbetween good-great at a 3.5 out of 5.

This was a HUGE surprise and I kind of really enjoyed it?

So Kitty is the lead here. Or Kate now is what she'd like to be called. The thing is, Kitty needs the spotlight. She has a awesome power. She's badass. And she's been a X-Men for like 20+ years. So give this girl some love! And with that she begins her quest to track down pieces of shit who would hurt mutants. And basically she recruits her own band of X-Men, Pirates like, called the Marauders!

This is fun, over the top, and badass all at once. I think this is really nice companion read next to the Regular X-Men series. A 4.5 out of 5.

New Mutants is probably my least favorite outing for the new dawn of X series.

It has some funny moments and getting to know the new team of New Mutants is pretty fun. I like most characters and the ending can lead to some really fun and exciting things. However, the story itself was a little to guardians of the galaxy for me and I'm not attached to this band of heroes yet.

For someone who never read or watched Soul Eater, I went into this creator's work blind, and I...really enjoyed this!

The world is filled with people blowing up from the inside and becoming big fire demon like creatures. Sounds crazy right? Well hold on. To battle that we have a Fire Fighter Force of individuals who tackle these creatures head on. We begin to learn through the story that there's individuals with special powers to help aid them against these fire creatures. With that we have our main hero, Shinra, joining this group of Fire Fighters they begin to take out these creatures one by one.

The start is great. They introduce us to a world we know but with a magical element to it all. It somehow all makes sense. Then comes in Shinra, who's really likeable right off the bat. At first you might not, because of his creepy grin in serious or sad situations, but you soon learn why he has that grin. On top of that the team of fire fighters are all interesting and we get some emotional bits that work really well. The comedy is mostly great...except the oversexualized character who comes in at the end. I get we can have some fan service, and I'd never turn down seeing a cute girl with big boobs flaunt her stuff, but it was so over the top here, and on top of that she keeps pushing people's hands under her bra or around her ass. It's odd...maybe they'll explain it later better.

Either way though, besides that gripe, I really enjoyed a lot of this. The art is good, characters are interesting, and the action rocks. I'll be picking up more for sure.

Pluto ends as strong as it started.

Atom is back, that much we knew. However, what is his answer to the growing danger that is Pluto? Will he strike out in anger? He now has emotions that he has never felt before after being reborn. However, if he goes after Pluto can he win? The two dish it out while something under the earth is rumbling and every human is worried that the end of days is here.

This hits some great emotional bits. Saying goodbye to various characters and seeing their secrets and last moments is super sad but very effective. The art is great as always and some epic action shots really elevate this volume. The ending is touching yet meaningful and the only way it could end really. The villain and some side plots seem to get lost a bit or rushed though.

Overall, fantastic. What a great series. One good volume and 7 great-fantastic volumes. You don't see that every day. A 4.5 out of 5.

This series continues to impress me.

Now that we have all our main heroes we begin to break down what their goals and dreams are. This picks up where the last one left off and a villain is calling out Shinra on the death of his mother and brother. Then, if that wasn't insane enough, we get a look at a Firefighter who had killed people and put on trail. But what happens when he becomes a monster himself? Who is Company 5 and why are they so evil? Why is Arthur so fucking stupid? It all comes down to this explosive second volume!

This is a goddamn blast. From the balls to walls fights, to Shinra being a complete badass, to the hidden mystery, and great world building, this is how a Shonen is done right. The art flows well to make sure can follow the fights and all the characters are interesting. I still think the fan service is a bit much though and very unneeded.

Overall, a blast. A 4 out of 5 easy and this series is a ton of fun!

Harleen continues to dive deep into Harley becoming who she is destined to be. With a deeper look at how her job is fucking her up, by the end you can't help but feel sadness for a character going down this path. The art remains great, the subplot with Harvey is pretty decent, and the descent into madass is both captivating and horrifying. I hope this series can end strong!

Goddamn it, this series is so freaking FUN.

Teenagers have complicated lives. They're bored all the time, always betraying each other, trying to find themselves, and above all else are horny little creatures. This is a tale of complicated lives of our rangers, trying to find a future job, trying to date, trying to push themselves to the limit, all while being superheroes called the Power Rangers. It's fun, it's exciting, and most of all we even get a tale of a creature who invades the group of friends.

It's a series that contains all the cliches from Teen Dramas but makes them work in fun ways with lots of great character moments. Motivations make sense, art is great, and the fights are fantastic. I hope this series continues to be a nice slice of life with some Power Ranger action going forward. A 4.5 out of 5.
