This might be my favorite issue of the series so far. Nothing like a father taking his kids out on an adventure to kill another island. Yes, the Island manifest into a creature/human. Oh, and you thought Apoc was sitting on the sidelines this whole time? Guess again. This is damn fun issue!
Absolute Carnage is an event...but fear not comic readers, this one is fucking GREAT!
Usually the hardest thing to do in events is tell a interesting story in its main series without needing every single tie in. This event doesn't need ANY tie in to tell a interesting tale and at the same time set up the future of the marvel universe in comics.
So Brock is not having a good time. Him and Venom are just not working well together. Enter carnage and his creepy "Daddy" dialogue to push Eddie to the edge. After a huge fight, and a lot of getting his ass kicked, Eddie retreats to find help from Peter. Together they go head to head with Carnage but when they see what he's become they'll need a lot more help. However, Carnage is more interesting in hunting down everyone else...
This is an exciting event with ton of action but a lot of cool character development. Cates manages to write both Eddie and Carnage super well, Peter as well, and move Venom's main story in a interesting direction. On top of that you get some great set up for the future and if Cates/Stegman are handling the next event I am SO ready. A 5 out of 5 for this fantastic and fun adventure here.

Funny enough this seems more relevant now than ever.
Scarlet is a broken person. Want to know why? One day when she was spending the day with the love of her life, a corrupt police officer decided to shoot both her and her boyfriend, leaving them for dead. That's the start of her revenge tale, but it becomes a revolution. One filled with hatred for the system that is supposed to protect us but instead hurt us.
It's a pretty solid story actually. I enjoy the main character as she talks to us as if we're there. Very dead-pool like but without less shitty jokes. On top of that the art is really solid, different, and well done. I think the pacing works well though the ending comes out of nowhere and just ends. Overall, while not amazing, it's solid, and well worth reading. A 3.5 out of 5.

Well this was pretty good despite the oversexulized teens left and right.
So got our main character Maka and her friend here, who is basically a weapon, that needs to devour souls. Quick into the series we are introduced to two more characters who actually each get their own chapter. Then we are thrown into the main storyline and learn about our heroes and who they are and what their mission is while also seeing how they all come together. It's a interesting way to do it that makes it way different than most animes/manga.
I really enjoyed the humor as it could be really funny. The fights and designs were all unique and pretty fun. I also liked the pacing, quick, and never boring. The main characters and supporting cast all seem interesting too. The fan service is over the top and too much at points. Have characters naked a lot (all women) and then have Maka, the main female character, getting her panties shown multiple times. She's like 13 or 14. It's weird.
Overall, besides the odd amount of sexual moments it was a lot of fun. I think I'll be checking out volume 2 down the line. A 3.5-4 out of 5.

Deathstroke continues to be entertaining, and this is by far the weirdest volume yet, and that's saying something.
So after the events of Batman vs Deathstroke, we have Slade locked up in Arkham. He's considered batshit crazy. Which is mostly true. However, when this is happening, we have his son and daughter working together to free him. But not before some trouble comes there way and a new villain shows up to show Rose who she really is. While this is happening, the doctors at Arkham are trying to "fix" slade but a lot of weird shit is happening.
Deathstroke remains fun. That's the key word for this series. It's family drama mixed with high end action and insane twist. Slade remains a dick, Rose is crazy, both his sons have had enough of his shit, and the end result to this volume is pretty shocking. It is hard to follow at points and there's one really stupid part in issue 4, but overall this is pretty entertaining. A 3 out of 5.

This series remains a blast!
We get to finish up the last arc here, and let me tell you, it ends in an explosion of awesomeness. We also get some more fights here, really clever ones, with learning how to use fire and such in different ways. I also loved getting to see new units and what the other fire houses look like. The murder mystery keeps getting better and I'm curious who is running it all.
I enjoyed just about all this. The art is great, the fights are good, the dialogue is pretty funny. I think this series keeps getting better though the ending fanservice really isn't needed (Though I do like boobies but still). Overall check this one out! 4 out of 5.

A guy goes undercover to discover how racist a family can be. This family just happens to be able to control a lot of things, including the police, gang violence, and more.
This is a interesting racially charged graphic novel of a character who has lost everything after doing something terrible. He isn't trying to atone so much as try to find a answer for his future. On top of that have a family of power, who can do whatever they want, and shows how they manipulate the system in their favor.
The thing that works well here is everyone feels realistic. Bryan Hill is able to capture the human moments of people and even the biggest pieces of shit in here have a moment where you might see where they're coming from. As the title suggest, everything is in pure carnage and plenty of character's meet their fates in fucked up ways. A look into the american world, well written, with plenty of nice surprises. Well worth the read. A 4 out of 5.

Just have Excalibur to read now, but how did Fallen Angels go?
Well you have the stories advance for Psylock, Laura, and Nathan (cable) go forward with their mission. It's basically a big X-Force feel to the whole thing with them going past the "new laws" and killing when needed. They are basically the X-Force but so undercover no one knows what they are really up to.
I liked some of it, a lot of the art was pretty cool and dark, and I also enjoyed the fights and Laura's brutal kills. However, characters like Laura going back to full on killing felt odd. I also didn't fully understand Psylock's weird past. Overall though, still interesting enough to read. A 3 out of 5.

I think this volume is for the fans of the TV show beyond just the originals, cause I had no clue who half the characters were here.
The Power Rangers are going against Drakkon and this time it's the final showdown. However, just as the heroes think they might have a chance Drakkon goes all out and becomes basically an unstoppable force. The only thing that will stop them is the inner demons of this vicious villain. At same time we have about every power ranger and ranger hero, crossover and all that in one.
I didn't really like this volume much. Some cool moments, cool fights, but confusing and the ending was like 'Uhhh what?" Yeah. Not a fan of this volume. Easily weakest for me. Excited to move pass this event though.

Doctor Strange in Space...sounds stupid? yet it somewhat works here.
This is basically Strange trying to find his place again. After magic leaves him he feels empty. This is when Tony says, well dude, go into space. So he does. And in space he meets a alien lady who helps him travel the universe to reclaim his magic. In doing so he might meet some races more powerful than he expects, and the end he might have to make some big choices.
This was pretty fun. When overly written in exposition and internal thoughts, the dialogue itself between characters was strong and fun. The pacing shifted, and sometimes boring, but most times pretty fun. Art was solid throughout though nothing amazing. Overall, a good book but not great. The ending made me want to read book 2 though. A 2.5 out of 5, but I'll bump it to a 3.
