2.5 stars.
A little bit disappointed in this book, I normally enjoy Paige Toon's characters a lot more! Lucy just seemed incredibly immature during the whole book, and the way she suspected James but then just accepted his explanations without a though was infuriating. And the fact that she carried on with Nathan - not cheating but kind of cheating - yet got annoyed with James if things seemed off with him. The way things ended with James didn't really rectify how Lucy had been with Nathan in my opinion.

I did enjoy seeing Meg make an appearance, I'm presuming that was our Nutmeg from Johnny Be Good before Johnny! I'll have to reread it now to see if she mentions Tom as I can't remember!

As you can guess by my updates, I LOVED this book! Paige Toon, you've done it again.

I've read Johnny Be Good and Baby Be Mine, and I realised a quarter of the way through this book, that I recognised Daisy from a bit at the end of Baby Be Mine when she shows up with her other half - so I knew who she was going to end up with, I just didn't know how. I love the fact that Paige combined her worlds of Daisy, Meg and Johnny and that Daisy had seen Meg, Christian and Barney, and figured out Meg's big secret about barney with one glance!

Both Will and Luis in this book are both really nice guys, with really different personalities. Luis definitely has that South American spice and feistiness to him, which definitely played off well with the Italian passion and temper that Daisy inherited from her grandparents but then Will was much more soft-spoken, kind and decent. It was so hard to know who to root for. Being honest, I was totally expecting Will to end up being the biggest ass, cause obviously he had the girlfriend and he was so torn between Daisy and Laura. I really did not expect what happened!

I mean, bam, just like that he was dead. I totally didn't see it coming considering the fact I knew Daisy somehow ended up with Luis. And so sad that Daisy couldn't really mourn properly cause noone knew about her and Will!

Holly kinda irritated me. She was quite snappy at times, and I know she had stuff going on sometimes but she was so judgemental of Daisy, I wanted her to just go away. But in the end, she was there for her!

Really enjoyed the ending, and I'd love for another book to come out about Daisy. I really liked her!

Annie has visions of the future but she's blind and therefore needs her younger sister Fia, who has perfect instincts, to protect her. When they were younger, the sisters joined a school they thought would help them but instead it turned into a prison, trapping Annie and Fia with its controllers making Fia do terrible things to save her sister's life.

This book is very fast-paced and easy to read. I was sucked into the story pretty easily and felt myself getting swept along in the dilemma. I enjoyed the flashbacks and I really felt how broken Fia was becoming at everything. However, I didn't find myself really bonding with any characters and I didn't particularly cared if they survived or not. They all felt a bit wooden and I think because of how quick and short the story was, it was impossible to get the feel of them. The whole time the idea that Fia is this desperate girl doing terrible things to protect her sister was being pushed in my face but at no time did I feel I was learning who Fia actually was. The only thing I really found out about her was that she loved dancing. I didn't feel like I knew her at all by the end of the book.

This is a duloagy so I will read the second book to find out what happens bot overall this book was just pretty okay, not great.

I've had this book on my Kindle for about a year now and I was just never tempted to pick this up until this week when, for some reason, all I wanted to read was Obsidian. I've heard a lot of great reviews about this book and a lot of comparisons to Twilight, which can't really be helped when the book focuses on a teenage girl moving to a new town and being drawn to a mysterious hottie. However, while this book did have similarities to the vampire bestseller I would describe it as Twilight up a level.

I wasn't expecting to like Katy as much as I did but I really felt drawn to her. She had a bit of spunk to her and was able to fight for herself and didn't let people walk all over her. She was able to give Daemon sass back and while he irritated her, she didn't let it succumb her. Even though she thought of him, she acted normally and went out with her friends, read her books and continued blogging. I also really loved that Katy's other friends Lesa and Carissa were both normal high school girls and they didn't have anything against Katy for seemingly swopping in and capturing the hot guy's attention the way you see in a lot of other books. I loved that Katy was able to make other friends other than Dee and Daemon (if he can be counted as a friend?).

And Daemon. What an annoying and frustrating guy but oh, so, hot. The way he says 'Kitten'. That's the sound of my legs turning to jelly. I wanted them to kiss so badly. The chemistry was killing me and it took so long in coming and all I want to do is keep reading to find out what happens between them.

Well...what to say.
I was so excited and nervous to read this book as seeing some glimpses of reviews on Goodreads, I knew something major happens to some characters.

I was disappointed when they left the City and found the Bureau, and what the city actually was in relation to the rest of the world. It was interesting but for me, it didn't make much sense. The whole gentically damaged and genetically perfect terms, how can they really decide that these genes make a person act the way they do?

The chapters that ranged between Tobias' and Tris's POV were strange.I was so used to reading from Tris's perspective, that reading from Four's was just a bit disconcerting. I was so used to seeing him being strong and silent that to hear his mind and see how shy and insecure he was was weird.

As for the end and Tris's death, well I kinda saw it coming...I actually preferred her to die rather than Four. I knew as soon as she was talking to Caleb she would decide to die, actually the minute they mentioned death serum. She was so willing throughout the other books to sacrifice herself, why would this one be any different. I loved the spreading of her ashes, I think it was pretty perfect as the zip-lining was one of the first moments where Tris became truly Dauntless. I was so annoyed that Roth still allowed Uriah die, he was one of my favorites.I was hoping that as we had already lost Tris, he might make a miracle recovery but no, Roth wasn't that nice. I just hope she didn't make the decision to kill off Tris as a way to distinguish herself from other YA novels and that she felt it was something she really had to do for the story.

It was a good book with a rather flat ending to a great series. Divergent is and will remain my favorite book of the lot.
