Mind Games
by Kiersten White
Annie has visions of the future but she's blind and therefore needs her younger sister Fia, who has perfect instincts, to protect her. When they were younger, the sisters joined a school they thought would help them but instead it turned into a prison, trapping Annie and Fia with its controllers making Fia do terrible things to save her sister's life.
This book is very fast-paced and easy to read. I was sucked into the story pretty easily and felt myself getting swept along in the dilemma. I enjoyed the flashbacks and I really felt how broken Fia was becoming at everything. However, I didn't find myself really bonding with any characters and I didn't particularly cared if they survived or not. They all felt a bit wooden and I think because of how quick and short the story was, it was impossible to get the feel of them. The whole time the idea that Fia is this desperate girl doing terrible things to protect her sister was being pushed in my face but at no time did I feel I was learning who Fia actually was. The only thing I really found out about her was that she loved dancing. I didn't feel like I knew her at all by the end of the book.
This is a duloagy so I will read the second book to find out what happens bot overall this book was just pretty okay, not great.
