This book started off a bit slower than the first but it got more intriguing as it went on. I liked how this book had more of the characters’ inner turmoil and thoughts than the first although it felt like the other girls in Kappa were a bit left out and it was more focused on Scarlett and Vivi. Like they were just there but really part of the story.
The authors do a great job at making others the suspects so the twists really get you.

This book was perfect to get into the fall/spooky vibes.
I really liked the premise of this book with the visions being like memories and the killer stalking her while she tries to stop him. The pacing was very slow with much of the chapters having a whole lot of mundane things happening but it felt like a way to connect with Nathalie. I loved the writing in this book and the amount of detail; it really helped shape the world and atmosphere. I liked the magic system? of the book with the blood transfusions; it was refreshing to have a way to get powers rather than being born with them, and in such a believable way. It also made it creepier, especially with the ending with Zoe Klampert and what she was trying to do. I was initially a bit disappointed when The Dark Artist was killed but the Zoe Klampert plot line made up for it. I hated Agnes’ death after we had really only interacted with her through letters and the lunch with Nathalie. It was really frustrating because you knew that The Dark Artist did it to hurt/anger Nathalie. The cliffhanger at the end was interesting with finding out that Nathalie’s power is connected to Death/the bodies themselves and the severe memory loss but really enough to make me want to start the second book immediately .

First book of the spooky season did not disappoint. This book had the perfect vibes to start off with. I loved the premise of the book, with Molly trying to become a surgeon with her knowledge of the dead from her job. I enjoyed the little mystery too but it felt pushed to the background at times.
I liked how they incorporated Ava’s story into Molly’s in between chapters but it would be more interesting if it was really Molly and how she ended up. Not everything must have a happy ending.
The twist wasn’t too shocking to me, I don’t know if it was because of the mystery going in and out of the background or because we barely saw Ava or both. I did not like that she died so quickly either.
The author did a good job with the unlikeable characters like Edgar and Dr. LaValle, and the Tooth Fairy was downright disgusting.
The romance between Molly and Tom was cute and Tom reminded me a bit of Jack from Caraval. With his personality.

This is an example of when closed door romance does bother me as their intimacy is part of the plot. Other than that I loved the characters and their interactions. The time skip after Claire’s accident I was not fond of, until she mentioned it I thought one of them was dreaming up the whole camping trip. Confusing as hell.

This was a cute read, it kept me entertained the whole way through. It read like a romcom movie. It had some dark moments though. Didn’t know it was closed door romance but it was didn’t bother me that much. The epilogue was very cute and I liked how it didn’t leave any characters out.
Writing felt juvenile and was cringy. Don’t know if I want to read her other book now.

I liked The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo but not Daisy Jones and the Six. But i liked the writing in both. This was a nice read, it felt very short because of the pacing. The back and fourth between timelines an different characters was done so very well. I loved it. I didn’t expect this book to be so relatable and cathartic in the end but it was a pleasant surprise.
Nina and the siblings reminded a little of Shameless and Fiona. It was sad to see Nina almost repeat her mother’s mistakes and almost staying with a man just like her father. Chronic cheaters are the worst. There is a cycle and it on us entirely to break it.
I wish there was a little epilogue to see a glimpse of what happened to each of them after a bit of time.

First, I was very pleasantly surprised at the diversity in this book, though mentioning all the characters like that did make it feel somewhat forced or like in your face about it.
I liked the forced proximity of the skating rink but Stassie made choices that led her to run into Nate. Their first scene was everything! Anastasia’s comment about men on their knees and Nate “I care about consent” HOT! But all of their scenes were.
I loved the group of hockey boys and more as the book went on, they’re all so lovable! Henry is a fav of course. Kinda sad that he never got a girl despite his efforts. JJ with his manipulative ass when he wanted his flowers, I could not! That was so precious! Sabrina and Robbie were insanely cute too!
The end kind of slowed down once they were together but the competition made it interesting again.
I didn’t really like the epilogue when she felt pregnant, but it kind of sweet. I would prefer to see each of them accomplishing their dreams, the gold medal and the champion cup instead of the post.

I loved the premise of this book and the revenge plot.
Though I wish there was more character writing along with the plot, it felt a little lacking especially for adult characters. I wanted to see more scenes of Maya and Skye together alone or with the other girls. The reality show plot was believable and enjoyable. I got more disgusted from Jordy every time he opened his mouth so I’m glad he got what was coming to him in the end. Feel bad for his sister though, having to be related to him and all. Their fighting in the beginning was really good but I hated that Jordy got what he wanted with it.
I liked Skye more that Maya tbh. Maya gave me the ick with the wrong “they’re” and the sleeping in late.
I was disappointed with the lack of spicy scenes and the intense fade to black, I know the author could have done more as she had in If This Gets Out.
I liked how all the girls were so different from each other and had their own personalities.

This was suppose to be read first but oh well. I really liked October and Mae in The Red Zone but I didn’t like Abel as much, he seemed a bit flat throughout the book and didn’t have me giggling kicking my feet like the other book did. Though he had a personality at least in this book. He was completely forgotten about in the Red Zone. An afterthought. I LOVED Scarlett tho! She is the book girlfriend! I related to her so much and she was just great.
I liked the fake dating trope in here tho. The boss employee romance not so much. The big reveal I already knew from the Red Zone so it only frustrated me more when it was happening. Like yelling at the book.
It took me so long to realize why he calls her Red. I know I’m dumb.
There was not really an explanation on how they met Lea but I assume it was when Scarlett brought the team muffins. Hopefully it’s in Lea’s book. But the mentions of Lea in these books doesn’t leave much to be told in her book because we basically know she got with Fortune against her father’s rules and got pregnant. I still really dislike the epilogue in the Red Zone with the pregnancies. Pregnancy in the epilogue is second worse to the surprise pregnancy trope. Why is it so common?
