I really loved the sections of the true crime podcast and getting to hear the parts of that that.
There are a lot of descriptions from the trial of the swimmer about the rape so that could be triggering.
I didn't feel this was as fascinating to me as her first novel which just held my attention really well. I find my thoughts wandering to others this and wasn't able to connect everything together. I feel that I may have had a better time actually reading this instead of listening.

Youtube sensation Violet seems to have it all. She features her picture perfect family on her channel. She has a massive following. One day she just.... Disappears. All her social media is gone.
We follow Lily, a single mother who is obsessed with Violet. When Vi disappears, Lily takes it upon herself to find out what happened and where she went.
Yvonne was the wedding photography when Violet wed Henry. Henry has history with Yvonne. She may not be done with him yet.
This makes me know for sure that I never want to put my family it there for all to see. You can get crazy people following you... this book showed that really well!

Oh wow, she's done it again! Another great book!

Juliet has a drinking problem. She quickly becomes the lead suspect in the murder of her colleague Terrance. The only evidence? Her wallet found near his body. She can't remember much of that night because she was blackout drunk.

The story is interspersed with video transcripts that make this a unique experience. There are some from Juliet, as she searches for the truth of that night. There are also some from her father, who's own past is riddled with drinking.

I had the feeling throughout the whole novel who the murderer was, but the writing is so good that even I sometimes wondered if I was wrong. The ending of how the truth comes out was so "on the edge of your seat" greatness that makes an amazing thriller.

Thanks to Vanessa Lillie for the free advanced copy of her book.

What a beautiful Historical Fiction book.
May is not having a great go of life at the moment. Expelled from college, she helps her father in his moonshine business. He gets busted and she has the chance she's always wanted...to run away to New York to try her hand at being a seamstress. Her travels also take her to Paris... Where she descends into drinking and drugs at the hand of some friends. Some will betray her and she will be a lifeline.

This is a very vivid portrayal of what chasing your dreams can do. They can be wonderful and they can also come with trouble. The way New York and Paris are described in this golden age is amazing and makes you feel as if you are right there.

Love me a fake relationship book!
Dani is so snarky and fun. Zaf sounds like such a dream guy. Their chemistry (even before"getting" together and "getting together

Hill Gamble and Kody Lawton. They've had rough pasts. They have both wanted each other but when Kody chooses his brother Aaron, Hill leaves for a job with the Texas Rangers.
He swears never to go back but has to to investigate Kody's corrupt father's murder. There are some surprises that come to the Lawton family. And someone wants to see this surprise dead.

This is the second (full) book in the Loveless, TX series. I really like Kody. She runs a bar and is a no nonsense kind of girl. Hill is just the sweetest. I really liked that they didn't take too long to actually declare their feelings for each other (within this book at least!) I love getting glimpses of people from the first book and can't wait for book 3.

This book was really cute and I now feel I need to watch all the great RomComs again! (Especially While You Were Sleepong which is just fantastic and a big fav!)

Annie is a screenwriter (love what she's basing her project on) and a big fan of romcoms (Tom Hanks please!) and a movie comes to her town to film she gets an assistant job on set.

She quite literally runs into the lead actor, Drew Danforth. She's heard about his reputation and she wants nothing to do with him. But what can you do when he always seems to be around bugging you?

I loved this whole cast of characters. I love that Drew is actually a total sweetie and good guy. I found myself laughing out loud at Annie's bad date/second encounter with Barry!

I finished this book in a matter of hours! The book is engaging.
We get 2 perspectives, Mina and her daughter Margot. Mina is a war orphan who in 1987 makes her way to LA. She doesn't speak much English and prefers her native Korean. In 2014, Margot heads to LA with a friend who moves for a job and to see her mother. She gets worried when she can't get ahold of her mom. They might not understand each other (Margot refuses to learn Korean anymore at a certain age so a lot of their conversations are stilted) but they love each other.
This book will stay with the reader for awhile. It's a great look into a not perfect relationship but it shows that starting over can heavily impact a family's lives.

Short stories written by authors about this pandemic. They were off what they are going through and what they are saying others go through. There are some poems as well as stories. I didn't recognize a lot of the names but one said this that stuck with me: "the pandemic is happening to ALL of us. There is no one on the planet who is not being affected by this disaster". It's true, this is affecting every human being. We all have different experiences.
I'm glad I was able to read this!

I read this book in an hour, folks, an HOUR! This is the third in a series of friends who pass a bracelet between read other too bring good fortune in love.
Lucas and Isabel are so likeable. Lucas is in love with Isabel but she doesn't know it. She just sees him as a friend who pulls her brother out of more trouble than he's worth.
Lucas has 10 days to convince Isabel of his love. After an outright rejection, the "battle of wits" begins!
Beautifully written and full of heart, this is a great little novella!
