In this story touted as Phantom of the Opera meets Moulin Rouge, I recognized Phantom elements more than the other and that kept me interested enough.
I wanted more about why the city of Glorian is kind of cursed and why the occupants can't leave. I wanted more from the magic of it but felt there wasn't a lot of it shown. I hope the second book explains it in more detail.
I felt that it was very slow moving and had me kind of bored sometimes.

For a first book, this wasn't bad. (He definitely gets better)
I figured out what happened to David pretty early on but there were still many surprises that lay ahead.
There were so, so many shady characters in here. There could have been a very big ICK in here and I'm glad it didn't go that way. I felt extremely bad for Gloria, falling for a smooth talking crazy dude.

Ok so this is book two about Caitlin Bergman, but as I haven't read book 1 yet.. I'd say this works well as a standalone.
Caitlin is called to Oregon to identify her mother's dead body-a mother who abandones her and joins a cult, The Dayans. She was left to be raised by a man who isn't her father. Caitlin finds that the cult is still alive and well- in a town run by a family of white supremacists.
This was an engaging story. I love reading about cults. I just find them so bizarre in the way they think and act.
I love how strong Caitlin is. She has such guts in regards to finding out the truth from the cult's leader, Desmond. He knows who her father is and she needs to find out- without risking her life.

This was a translated work from Dutch. It was hard to tell if this was fiction or about the actual author's life. Since most reviews are in Dutch, I can't tell.
It worked ok. The MC trying to find out if her grandfather was really the hero everyone said he was, after all she naming her baby after him.

I love this novella that seems to have some inspiration from Cyrano de Bergerac.
Phoebe is in her third London season and is on the "hunt" for a husband this year. When she starts getting letters from a mysterious friend warning her away from certain men, she starts writing back.
There's also Griffin. He's a friend of Phoebe's sister in law. He seems to want to get to know Phoebe more. As they grow closer and Phoebe's desire to meet her mysterious friend grows... Who will ultimately capture her heart.
I love Griffin. He's so lighthearted and kind. I am so Phoebe as I'd rather be a wallflower at a large gathering them in the midst of it all.

Oh this book was perfect for Jonquil brother fans. The beginning of the Jonquil family. the story of their mother and father, Lucas and Julia. This takes place in the Georgian era which is not one I read a lot about. I love reading about the different fashions they had and such things as powdering their hair.
I love these two. They are so perfect for one another though it took them a long way to get there.
They didn't have the easiest of beginnings and the Gents went a long way to help them.
The Gents are now more of some of my favorite people in the world that Sarah has created. I can't wait to set this series grow and get all the Gents stories!
You get to see some characters from the other books. One particular one, that is my absolute fav- I don't want to give it away for fans of Sarah's but I bawled my eyes out!

Ok first off- this is a contemporary romance with the MC, Sierra, being a gamer girl. So the cover of this doesn't fit at all. I need one of her gaming shirts mentioned in this book on the drawn model, k?
Second of all- is Tristan a douchebag name or what?! Reminds me of Chad Michael Murray playing a Tristan in Gilmore Girls!
Sierra had a thing for Tristan in college, very major crush. She sees him again 10 years later at a bar where she is entering a contest to win a prize for sharing embarrassing anecdotes. Plus the bar's owner is Alfie who also went to college with them.
Sierra, I wanted to drop kick her in the face most of the time in regards to Tristan! I could tell he was a douchebag from the get go (never got her name right... He thought it was Sara until he gets it phonetically but not from her

I love this book because it takes place in two places I really want to visit, Australia and Paris.
Grace lives in Australia. She loses her father at a young age and her best buddy "Uncle Siddy" goes to fight the way.... And never returns.
She has the chance to go to Paris to work for Christian Dior as a young woman.
I thought that would be it. She'd live this glamorous life as a model in a great city for a great designer. But she gets a bit more than she bargained for when she falls in love with Philippe. She also discovers some family secrets.
I absolutely love that this was inspired by a real woman and I love getting to see historical figures such as Jacqueline Bouvier too.

This is what a great physiological thriller is!
Molly has walked away from her family on the 5th anniversary of her young daughter, Annie's death.... At least that's what everyone thinks had happened. The truth is terrifying.
I don't want to give away what really happens, but it is so twisty! I thought I knew the answers and who the bad guy was, but at every turn...I kept having to challenge my own knowledge.
Nic was a great character. Sure she had problems, as all the family members did after Annie's death, but I love that she didn't believe the story of her mom just walking away and becomes determined to find out the truth.
There are several, sociapathic characters that make for a horrible experience for this family.
Wow, I'm very impressed by this book and will definitely read more of Wendy's work.
