This was such a great read. Ollie and Will stole my heart. Although it had a really heavy, sad element to it, it really was a lighthearted, sweet story, and I couldn't put it down. I expected to be completely devastated by this but by the end I found myself grinning like an idiot.

A brilliant ending in my opinion. I understand alot of people liked it, alot of people hate it, but I think no matter what a writer does or doesn't do, people are always going to be split, more upset that it ended than anything. Okay I get Cal and Mare didn't get together in the end, but they didn't exactly completely go their separate ways. They do need time to heal after EVERYTHING, especially since they loved Maven in their own ways. I've yet to read broken throne but I like that while it was wrapped up, Aveyard left room for more stories in this world.
I couldn't find any fault really in this series. I loved every second of it. The court politics, the powers, the friendships and betrayals. I liked that for once, there is a fantasy series where love and romance, while it is there, is not the main focus of the plot or even an overwhelming presence. It was full of strong female characters, action and it was a well crafted world.
Highly reccomend this fast paced political fantasy.

I really did love this novel, the outline for it was amazing - like saw meets the breakfast club meets escape room meets an Agatha Christie novel. I liked the back and forth from the past and present time between chapters - it gave a nice flow to the story and gave more depth to the characters.
I liked that the characters were all different from each other, and the same in the sense they were all trying to get into good schools by doing whatever it takes.
It was a quick read, with an easy flow that didn't really lull at all. Kept me guessing for a bit and the suspense was there all they way through, along with the question "is this real" as I turned chapter after chapter waiting for more secrets and revelations.

I did kind of figure out who it was before the reveal (albeit only a chapter or two before, so it wasn't a big deal) but looking back it did get more obvious as time went on. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as I hate when it's glaringly obvious half way through because it ruins the book, so i wasnt mad when I figured out it could only be ONE person the last 20 percent.
I would have loved to give this 5 stars, I really would, but the ending left me a bit... dissatisfied. Like what happened? What were the consequences? I feel there was all this build up about futures and I'll never get to know.

HOWEVER. That is not to say this was a bad novel. I really really enjoyed it and I would reccomend it to anyone who loves a bit of a mystery. And I'll be picking up the authors future novels as well.

I tried rereading twilight last year and I couldn't make it through it. Now I loved twilight when I first read It, I was a massive twihard back in the day and the series will forever hold a special place in my heart. But I just found Bella so...bratty in my reread I couldn't continue.
Life and Death was SO much better.
I related to Beau so much more (maybe because I'm a guy?) But he felt so much more than Bella genderswapped. He felt like his own character entirely and so did Edythe. While I was aware it was essentially Twilight, it did feel like an entire different story. The change in conversations and how some bits in the plot where changed (like how the conversation when Beau tells Edythe she knows happens in the car on the way back from Port Angeles instead of in the forest.
I enjoyed the ending aswell, how it was like breaking dawn but different and honestly I feel that's how twilight should have ended.
Absolutly loved this book. It was such a joy to return to the world of Twilight.

Gemina was so much better than Illuminae (and I mean Illuminae was one bad ass piece of sheer artwork) but Gemina ups the game and raises the stakes.
At first I was a bit disappointed to not be following Kady and Ezra but Nik and Hanna grew on me instantly. It was such a captivating read and all the characters were incredible, once again the way of writing in the style of audio files, camera feeds and IMs weaved a perfect story of high stakes, friendship, adventure and the will to survive above all else.

Okay, honestly I picked this up because I was on a vampire kick after midnight sun and I was drawn in with the fact that the MC was gay, and I'm kinda over vampire romances where the couple is always, ALWAYS straight. (Gays need their time to shine in the world of vampires too.)
So i was expecting your average, boy meets boy, boy turns out to be vampire. Other boy turns out to be the chosen one, chaos sex chaos, happily ever after.
That's not what happened and this book blew all my expectations out of the water.
It was an incredibly fast paced, action packed adventure, full of wit and sarcasm in the same vein as buffy the vampire slayer.

Auggie is a sixteen year old gay dude, who is failing math and happens to live in a vampire town, where the undead are drawn too because it lies on a nexus. Soon auggie starts to experience visions and horrible nightmares, lost time and plus an incredibly hot vampire turns up at his school with a cryptic "save the cheerleader save the world" message.
Turns out some ancient vampire entity that awaken once every 100 years or so and takes possession of a mortal, is starting to wake up in auggie, and he has to find a way to stop it before a massive vampire apocalypse happens, and while controlling his newfound powers. Not to mention his rampant hormons around not one but two incredibly hot vampire boys (who happen to be exs)
Not knowing who to trust, and being hunted by three ancient vampire factions and a secret society of vampire Hunter crusaders, auggie has to quickly figure out how to stop the ancient evil awakening in his body before it bursts out of him like the Kool-aid man, and somehow still keep his curfew.

This book was filled with so many great characters, especially auggie who is a sweetheart. I really resonated with him and your heart does bleed for him as he struggles to come to terms with what is happening and his frustrations at everyone around him. (He just wants to go on a date with the cute barista and make out, sake.) Jude and Gunner were great aswell, both caring about auggie in their own way and honestly it was the first time I would be okay reading about a throuple. (Come on that threesome biting scene was really effing hot.)

It's full of witches, sorcery, gay vampires, sarcasm, teenage hormons, undead cultists, murderous crusaders, honestly what's not to love?

Five stars all the way, I am so in love with this fresh take on vampires.

Oh...oh my heart. This book was so raw and emotional and heartbreaking and I loved every second of it.
