A brilliant ending in my opinion. I understand alot of people liked it, alot of people hate it, but I think no matter what a writer does or doesn't do, people are always going to be split, more upset that it ended than anything. Okay I get Cal and Mare didn't get together in the end, but they didn't exactly completely go their separate ways. They do need time to heal after EVERYTHING, especially since they loved Maven in their own ways. I've yet to read broken throne but I like that while it was wrapped up, Aveyard left room for more stories in this world.
I couldn't find any fault really in this series. I loved every second of it. The court politics, the powers, the friendships and betrayals. I liked that for once, there is a fantasy series where love and romance, while it is there, is not the main focus of the plot or even an overwhelming presence. It was full of strong female characters, action and it was a well crafted world.
Highly reccomend this fast paced political fantasy.
