Oh what a tangled web we weave....
I wasn't sure what to expect with Hard Rules, but what we got was a web of lies, deceit, betrayal - and that is just the people in the Brandon family!
Big business means big money and big troubles for Shane Brandon - fighting to keep his business clean, fighting his father and brother.
Ugh, so much fighting and bitterness. I wanted to get them all into a room together and slap some sense into them all.
Emily is the light in all Shane's darkness. A chance encounter, a night together should be all they are to each other. But the fates have more in store for them.
#Shamily is so much more.
It was hard to know who to trust, who to believe in all of this story. Just when you think you know who the good guy is, the story takes a turn that was not expected.
I adored how Shane and Emily fought to be true to each other, to know each other - or did they?
Hard Rules is full of heat and suspense, and I was left with more questions and answers at the end.
I hope we don't have too long to wait to find out more.
One thing though - I don't really get the Sons of Anarchy references in the teasers and blurbs. Maybe it is just me, but it didn't really seem to fit?

This is the 7th book in The Beat and The Pulse series and though it could be read as a stand alone, you won't want to miss the rest of this great series. And the characters do all interact in all the books, so you might miss some stuff!
I m not going to lie, I wasn't too sure I was going to like Dean and Josie's book. Not because I hadn't liked the series, but because of Josie's actions in the last book.
In the previous book I was not a fan of Josie. I didn't like what she did, when she did it, the kind of person I thought she was.
I am happily surprised to say that this is no longer the case. Seeing her side of things that happened, I could understand her reasons, I could understand why. And I felt for her as this story progressed.
She has been in lust, and probably in love with Dean Hayes for as long as she can remember.
Dean Hayes has been hung up on another woman for the past decade, and can't seem to get past it even though they have never been together.
Work and play should never mix, both of them know it, but you can't deny what the heart wants, no matter how hard you try.
I wanted to slap Dean at times, tell him to open his eyes and look at what was right in front of him, but other times I could see the man behind all the standoffishness, and my heart melted.
I oved that we got little glimpses of most of the people from throughout the series, a little insight as to where they are at now.
And with some of those other characters, a story that began way back in the series finally comes full circle.
Surge is a story of lust, love, and two people coming together and each coming into their own. It is chock full of angst and heartbreak as well as hope.
Ms Cross has drawn me into the world of the AUFC and underground fighting world with this series. I get engrossed in each book, wanting, no needing to know what happens with each character, forgoing food and sleep so I can turn the next page.
I can't wait to see what Ms Cross brings us next.

This ^^ up here is exactly how I feel after reading any Pepper Winters book. I swear she reaches in and rips my still beating heart out of my chest and stomps on it!
Unseen Messages is a deep, complex story about love, loss, hope. I was not exactly sure what to expect as I started reading, other than I was going to love every minute of it.
For about the first 60% of the book, I was engrossed, but I thought to myself "this isn't as dark as I was expecting from her" (even though I knew it wasn't going to be). Well, did this little black duck think too soon. Because just when I thought I knew what was happening

there was the gut wrenching, heart breaking moments I was expecting (don't get me wrong, some horrible sh!t happens before then, but boy oh boy things were taken up another notch around this part.
So remain seated, strap yourself in and get ready to be swept away and taken on an adventure of epic proportions.
Ms Winters is known for her dark stories, but she should step away more often, as if books like Unseen Messages are what she gives us, I want more.

I have been waiting it seems like forever for Sugar Rush since I finished reading Sugar Daddy (I know it hasn't been long, I just needed to know what was happening with our lovelies).
Sugar Rush starts off right where Sugar Daddy ends, so it is go go go right from the start.
Ms Bennett had me in tears right at the beginning, tears of sadness, tears of anger.
Things come to a head that were building up in the first book, especially surrounding Beck’s business partner JT.
What a despicable man I found him to be. I didn’t like him in the first book but now I really didn’t like him.
He is a big part of Sela and Beck’s story this time, a lot of actions in this book surround JT and things he is doing/has done and what can be done about them.
Sela is so strong, but man for a smart woman she does some stupid things! I wanted to clip her around the ears, tell her to wake up to herself and stupid doing dumb shit!
Beck is just…. He’s just swoony. Heart of gold, protective of those he cares for, and maybe just a little bit of a hottie… oh who am I kidding, I’d go there!
I read Sugar Rush in one go. I was reading while I was doing my laundry, I skipped dinner until I had finished reading.
And again.. we were cliffhangered!
It is not too long before book 3 Sugar Free comes out (but lucky for me it is waiting on my kindle and I can jump right in.
Can’t wait to see how Beck and Sela’s story ends.

The Sapphire Heist starts up where The Sapphire Affair ends, and right from the start it is go go go!
Jake and Steph are still on the hunt for diamonds, and every time they seem to be getting closer, BAM there is another twist in the tale.
Who is the good guys? Who is bad? Who can they trust, and can they even trust each other/
And in the middle of all this, they are falling in love.
Phew, I am exhausted just thinking about it all!
There is plenty of mystery, intrigue, suspense along with a healthy dose of sexy times!
I really do adore our lovelies. Through it all (and believe me there is plenty of stuff going on !) there is this connection between them, though tenuous at times, can't be broken.
And at the end of the day, I just needed to know - who stole the diamonds! And I am pleased to say that I was surprised who it was, and what part a lot of the characters had to play. Not all is as it seems!
This was a sweet, sexy, adorable romance with a great whodunnit thrown in for good measure.
Now, I am off to research the Caymans for a holiday to get away from this winter cold!
I can't wait to see what Ms Blakely gives us next!

We met Aubry and Quinn in Foolproof Love (doesn't matter if you haven't read it, but why would you want to miss out?) and now we get their story.
They say opposites attract - and you can't get any more opposite than Aubry and Quinn! They couldn't be any more wrong for each other... which makes them so right!
They say they can't stand each other, but when a mutually agreeable arrangement is made between them, things really start to heat up. Sparks fly. There is sexual tension by the bucketload.
And fighting really is foreplay.
Fool Me Once is a hot and sexy read, with a dose of the swoonworthy thrown in. There are laughs, there are fights, and then there are the sexy times... wowsers!
From the start I wanted, no I needed them to be together. Even when they were hating, there was just something between them, and they weren't hiss and snark.
I have adored all that I have read by Ms Robert so far, and can't wait so see what she brings us next.

Oh. My. God.
I am so glad I had this installment of the series already when I finished Sugar Rush!
I know I should have waited until closer to release date to read this, knowing that I had so many more reviews to be done before this one. But I couldn't help it. I had to jump straight in the minute I finished book 2.
At the end of Sugar Rush I was Noooo you can't end there, you can't do this to me Sawyer Bennett!
From the first word to the last, Sugar Free is an intense, suspenseful story. Sela and Beck are both going through so much , at times it felt like they didn't have time to breathe.
And if you think that you are going to have time to breathe either... nope, uh uh, ain't gonna happen!
I was laying on my lounge reading, and I had such visceral reactions to this installment of the Sugar Bowl series. I felt such intense love for our lovelies but I also felt such anger, such helplessness for them both.
The is quite a bit of "woulda, coulda, shoulda" in Sugar Free. What would you do, how far would you go to protect the ones you love?
It was like there was a fist gripping my heart, someone injected me with adrenaline and a whole lot of "oh hell no" all happening at once. Things really did get crazy!
And I wouldn't have had it any other way.
The Sugar Bowl series is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. I was completely engrossed in this story, forgoing meals and housework (not that I need an excuse not to vacuum!) to be by Beck and Sela's side throughout their ordeal.
I was on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading Sugar Free, and couldn't wait to turn each page to find out what happened.
Well played Ms Bennett, well played.
Can't wait to see what Ms Bennett brings us next.

"There is no such things is bad people. We're all just people who do bad things."
It's official. I want to be Colleen Hoover when I grow up.
Each and every time I pick up a CoHo book I tell myself that it can't be any better than the last book. And each and every time I am wrong.
It Ends With Us is just amazing. Ms Hoover has said that this is a deeply personal story for here, and as a reader you can feel that You can feel how invested she is in this story, how emotional it is for me.
And as a reader, for most of the book it felt that there was a fist holding a tight grip around my heart, that I could not breathe properly. As I turned each and every page I was thinking "this can't be happening" and "oh hell no".
And I couldn't stop turning each and every page.
I think everyone should go into this book blind, only having read the blurb, so I don't want to say much about the actual story other than to say that you will no be disappointed when you read it.
And when you have read it, make sure that you read Ms Hoover's notes at the end of the book (but don't read it before hand as it has spoilers).
Thank you Ms Hoover for tackling a difficult subject matter and doing it justice. Words can have as much power as actions,, and this book is full of powerful words.
"Life is a funny thing. We only get so many years to live, so we have to do everything we can to make sure those years are as full as they can be. We shouldn't waste time on things that might happen someday or maybe even never"
Ms Hoover has again taken me on an amazingly wonderful and at times heartbreaking journey, and I can't wait to see what she brings us next.

I have been waiting for Vinnie's story. He has always been in the background at the WDMC, but we were given a bit of a glimpse of what his story might entail in the previous novella, Wild Ride.
Vinnie, aka Wolf's story is on that I have been itching for for a while, and it was even more than I could have hoped for.

He was not looking for an old lady. He was happy with his position in the WDMC, there was always a woman if he wanted one. But he didn't want "the one".
Until Shayla.
He wanted to "mate" with her from the minute he met her. In as many ways as possible. For as long as possible. And boy do things hot up!
I loved that he saw more than everyone else seemed to see about her. She wasn't just this spoiled brat diva that the men in her cousin Talon's club thought she was. And the more we learn the more I couldn't help be love her.
And her and Vinnie together was just something to behold.
There is plenty of suspense and drama in Wolf's Mate. Who are the good guys? Who can be trusted.
I freaking LOVE the banter between the WDMC ladies, with and about their men. Tracker had me in stitches at times.
Hopefully in the next book, these questions will be answered?
In the mean time, here are some puppies... because.. puppies (and this will make sense when you read this book).

The Wind Dragons series is one of only a couple of MC series that I will read these days. In a world where this genre has become oversaturated, WDMC just stands out for me.
And I can't wait for more.

I am not going to lie, this is the first Tillie Cole book I have read, and it probably wasn't the smartest thing to jump in 3 books into the series, but I did and I will be going back to read the first two books ASAP.
It did take me a little while (about 40%) to really get into Ravage (again I think this is because I have not read the earlier books) but once I got past this stage I was full steam ahead, couldn't put it down, into it.
Ravage is a dark, gritty book full of suspense. At times I wanted to read through my fingers as I wasn't sure I would like what was coming next. Who was the good guy? Who could I trust? Who would be at the end of a Bratva/Mafia gun barrel next?
There was enough back story that I did not feel I was being left behind by the story (this could be read as as stand alone) and it really has piqued my interest to go and read Raze and Reap sooner rather than later.
I am sure that this series will not be the only Tillie Cole I read in the future
