Mel is not doing well in the romance department, in fact, she just found out her boyfriend cheated on her. Despite this, Mel is desperate to see the bright side of things, even if her neighbor has just been attacked and is now in a coma. As the notorious Max-- or is it John?-- moves next door to her, Mel can't help but take a second to look.

I COULD NOT STOP READING! I have other work to do and tests to study for, but I had to finish this book today. I love the romance, the secrets, and the compatibility between Mel and John. One of the reasons I couldn't stop reading was because
I wanted to see how things went when John revealed he wasn't Max
.

I love cheesy, feel-good romance, and this delivered!

Alice regrets not believing her father. She didn't think this would happen to her. In one night, her life changed from blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined, everything was different now. They are real, those monsters, those zombies.

This was my second time rereading this, and I will say this was quite a disappointment. I had always wondered why this series wasn't more popular, but now I realize why. The story is somewhat original, but some sections felt slow. There was more the book could've brought, a better love story, better action scenes, etc.

Also, the dialogue in this book is interlaced with Alice's own thoughts. I didn't really like this, because occasionally, I had to go back and see whether she actually said something out loud. I liked how I could read her thoughts, but I felt there could've been a better distinction between thoughts and dialogue.

This might be super knit-picky, but I also don't personally like the long chapters. 18 chapters for 404, or 22 pages per chapter, means I keep taking breaks after each chapter. I like shorter chapters because I can justify "one more chapter" since it is quick, and a chapter means natural breaks. The longer chapters meant I kept putting the book down and not wanting to continue, kinda like being burned out or in a reading slump.

Natalie's last summer in Kentucky is anything but normal. As the world around her starts to change, the mysterious "Grandmother" and Beau seem to be the only things that make sense and make no sense.

I went through three phases with this book. At first, before I began reading, I thought I would like it enough for 4 or 5 stars. In the beginning and middle of the book, I thought it was going to be a 3 star book. At the end, I was tearing up and was debating what rating I should give this book. I decided on a 5 because I did like the love story, the uniqueness, and the ending.

The beginning and middle of the book weren't perfect, but the end was.

Very few books can make me emotional, and this one did it. In the last 2 chapters, I was tearing up and once I finished the last chapter, I began to cry. I gave this book 5 stars because I didn't think it could or would do this to me. It was only at the end that I felt invested in the story and, though it was a little drawn out, I wanted a happy ending between Natalie and Beau. I wanted something magical to happen and fix everything.
And when it happened, I was both sad and happy. I'm glad they ended up together, the worlds were fixed, and that there was a happy ending. I was sad, however, because this was the end and that I'd wouldn't get anything more.

I didn't think this would end this way, but I'm glad it did.

Lizzie Nicols has a problem; she can’t keep her mouth shut. As a trip to London is ruined by her big mouth, Lizzie finds herself in France. Luckily, she has her best friend, Shari, and the handsome son of Chateau Mirac’s owner, Luke, to make this summer better.

This was my second time reading this and I still loved it. There is kind of an instalove thing happening, but I think it was well done.

I’m a sucker for romances, and this one as enjoyable to get through and wasn’t too cliche (though there some cliches).

Overall, a good lighthearted romance.

Cinder is a cyborg mechanic. She is a mistake and a burden. She is unwanted. Her reputation for being the best mechanic in New Beijing has lead Prince Kai to her. As tension between the Lunar Kingdom and the Earthen Kingdoms builds, Cinder finds herself in a dangerous situation.

Cinder is the first of what is a great series. The book is captivating and the world-building is not too jarring or complicated. You get a sense of how each character acts the way they do (some more than others), and I'd say most of the characters are lovable or hateable (that kind of hate you love to have with villans).

This was my second time reading this book, and I was not disappointed. It is common knowledge that I love fairytale retellings, and The Lunar Chronicles was most definitely the reason why. I love reading the twists and changes from what was a familiar story. My love for classics with a hint of change is ever-growing. Revisiting this series has only reinforced that. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romance, action, sci-fi, and a bit of magic

Heartless is a fairytale retelling of Alice in Wonderland, except it is from the point of view of the Queen of Hearts before she became the queen. It details her journey towards becoming a queen and explains her motives and reasons for how she acts in Alice in Wonderland.

Everybody already knows that the Queen of Hearts is not the nicest character in Alice in Wonderland (unless you think beheading is the pinacle of friendship). And since this book details how she became the antagonist, you obviously can conclude without reading anything to know something bad happened to her. And if you read the summary/synopsis, you know that something bad will happen with her love life. Which is (guess what?) exactly what happens. Despite this cliche, this isn't a bad book.

I will admit I love fairytale retellings and seeing new/multiple sides to the same story. Despite this, Heartless is not one of my favorite books. There is nothing in this book that stuck out to me and make me think, "Wow, that was so good. I'm going to rate this five stars". Instead, I feel like the beginning of the book was slow and insignificant and it was only halfway through this book did I start to really get into the story and lose track of how much time I spent reading. Then at the end, it was quite boring. I felt like the action was done and there was nothing to add/change since we knew how it was supposed to end. Overall, I enjoyed the book, it just didn't blow me away.

A Court of Thorns and Roses, or ACOTAR, is a retelling of the classic Beauty and the Beast. Set in a world where faeries and humans are separated, Feyre, an artistic huntress, finds herself stuck in their land (Prythian). As she comes to terms with her feelings for the High Lord, Tamlin, she must also face a powerful force threatening the lives of faeries and humans.

When I began reading this book, I didn't think I would love this book. Yes, I do love fairytale retellings, but I had heard a lot of stuff that made this book seem like it would be hard to read. Yes, there were moments where I questioned the reasoning for certain things, but they didn't deter me from reading.

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. There are times when I didn't want to stop reading at all, and even though some things are cliche, (hey, it's a fairytale), I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and look forward to finishing this trilogy. If you love fairytale retellings (as much as I do), definitely pick this book up and try it for yourself.

Juliette's touch can kill. For the longest time, she has lived under The Reestablishment as a pawn, as a nobody. A reunion changes things. She no longer wants to live in fear, she wants to take control and fight for her freedom.

The beginning and end of this book were definitely 4 stars, as for the middle, I would say I hit a slump and that is why the Readability is only a 3.
I honestly felt like the relationship between Adam and Juliette is a little too perfect and cookie-cutter (in this context). Like, they just so happen to have been in love with each other for years, and then they just magically manage to reunite after Adam says some stuff.

I like the writing style of this book, specifically the strikethrough and repetition. It really does get a clearer sight into Juliette's head.

The highlight of this book has to be
Warner and Kenji. I love the antagonist nature in Warner and the comical nature in Kenji. They make the characters less vanilla and insignificant. We don't really get as much personality from any other character.

I was seriously doubting whether I would continue this series, but following the end of the book, I am going to give the next novella (Destroy Me) a try (and possibly the rest of the series).

The Great Gatsby details the story of Jay Gatsby and his love for Daisy Buchanan, a married woman. It is also accompanied by the lives of Tom Buchanan (Daisy's husband), Jordan Baker, and Nick Carraway.

I came into this book with pretty high expectations and was quite disappointed. I read this in one sitting with an audiobook and the physical book, and if it weren't for the audiobook, I don't think I would've wanted to finish this in one sitting. The beginning and middle of the book were slow, and since the end was faster with more things happening, I think the end was the best.

There wasn't anything special or significant in this book. I expected something that would make me feel or think some way, but that didn't happen. This book is okay, but is very overrated.

Waste of Space is centered around a reality television show set in space... except it's all fake. The only people who know it is fake are the producers. The show is a tremendous success, except suddenly, things go wrong.

Waste of Space was okay. The idea is original, but there wasn't anything that hooked me into it. At the end of the book, I found myself trying to finish this book as quickly as I could so I didn't have to read anymore.

Also, the end of this book was quite abnormal. Yes, I know that was the point, but I felt like the book's tone shifted and in a totally different location. I felt like the story was quite okay before a wrench was thrown in and made things weird. It was like Season 1 of Riverdale, then it became Seasons 2-3. The first part was okay, but the end did not really fit the tone, style, or direction of the beginning. It went from contemporary with a dash of sci-fi to full out sci-fi.

Not only did the plot disappoint me, but the characters also did. The characters are stupid, unrealistic, and just plain unlikeable. They were written to fill out the stereotypical reality tv stars, but they are so bland and unenjoyable. They have terrible motivations and are just lame.

Yes, this book isn't in my favorite genre, but this book had so much potential with its story and I felt like it was Wasted (heh). This book didn't have anything that made me want to give it a better rating.

Coming back to this book a month later, I have decided this isn't a 3 or 2 star book, it is a 1 star book. I was being lenient, but now I know that this wasn't good.
