» PLOT «
Quinton had been in love with Margo since forever. So when one night she climbs into his room in the middle of the night asking for help, he obliges. After spending an entire night together, Quinton returns to school, expecting to see her again. After a few days, it becomes clear that Margo has gone on one of her legendary adventures again, but this time she's left clues for him. Swept up in the excitement from a few nights ago, Quinton begins to follow the clues and search for her.

I think the most interesting part of this book was the factoid about paper towns, and the best part was at the end, when

Margo got angry at the main group for finding her

. For some reason I thought that was funny. It's this moment that should be happy an epic, and it's just not.

» READABILITY «
I did DNF this in the past, so I already knew that this wasn't that readable for me. That is why I used an audiobook. That made this easier to read, but that doesn't change the fact that this book can be boring sometimes.

» CHARACTERS «
The characters in this book are very flawed, while that can be annoying, it is also very refreshing and relatable.

» WRITING «
The writing is alright, nothing terrible or groundbreaking.

» OVERALL «
This was a book I started reading and eventually DNFed in the past (maybe sevenish years ago? when the movie came out?), and this time I was prepared and read it with an audiobook.

This book was very slice-of-life. Which basically means it was boring. And with the addition of characters I don't care about, this just wasn't for me.

This was a fairly quick read due to the audiobook, but if it were not for Buzzwordathon, I doubt I would've started or finished this book.

The characters in this book are fine, just not interesting. Since this is a contemporary, slice-of-life, there is no big bad or anything, just a classmate.

The writing isn't bad, just nothing special.

A Christmas Carol tells the story of a bitter old miser named Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformation into a gentler, kindlier man after visitations by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come.

The idea of the plot is great, but the characters don't draw me into the story.

If I had read this regularly, this wouldn't be particularly easy to ready, but luckily I had the audiobook.

The characters are meh, I don't really like or hate any of them.

The writing makes this book less enjoyable. I just feel that it wasn't told in a way that develops the story and characters well.

This was my second read through of this book, and both times I used the audiobook. I like the idea of this book, just not the actual book. :/

I read this for a 24 hour readathon... so I wasn't really paying all that much attention honestly.

Nimona has just been assigned to Blackheart as his apprentice. Desperate to prove herself, Nimona and her impulses go too far.

The plot is okay, but book is about Nimona (obviously, read the title), and she wasn't my favorite. I liked the parts with Blackheart and Goldenloin more.

» READABILITY «
This was an easy read in that it was a graphic novel, but other than that, it was average

» CHARACTERS «
Out of all of the characters, Blackheart and Goldenloin were my favorite. I loved the "rivalry" and their relationship, and despite the fact that the are enemies (and one of them is a villain), they cared for each other and the people around them.

Nimona annoyed me a bit. She was the cliche childish character that wants to do more, while simultaneously didn't have all of the information, so she caused a bit of trouble. Not my favorite trope.

» WRITING «
The writing is okay, it's not bad.

» OVERALL «
One of the better graphic novels, but not because of the titular character.

This book is a classic, and now I know why. I can't explain this book, you just have to read it for yourself.

The two main characters are such good contrasts to each other, and I loved reading their interactions with each other.

Kell is the last of the Antari. This means he is one the last who has the ability to travel between worlds, or Londons, as he calls them. While he officially services the crown, he unofficially illegally smuggles goods between the worlds. But when one day he stumbles across an artifact from the dangerous Black London, Kell's mission to get rid of the artifact causes a series of problems and obstacles.

Slow and uninteresting. I just can't find myself caring about about anything.

» READABILITY «
This was not the most readable, so I had to switch to the audiobook, and even that was not an easy read.

» CHARACTERS «
I don't like any of the characters. The only ones that have anything interesting are Rhy and Kell, but they either underdeveloped or boring. Which is bad, since Kell is literally the main character.

Lila was annoying, and I have no idea why she was necessary to the story.

» WRITING «
The writing is okay, but I feel like we focused on the wrong things. It was slow and uninteresting.

» OVERALL «
I'm sad I didn't like this book :(
