This is the fifth and final book in the Cherry Creek Harbor series and Mabel was so worth the wait! The meet cute here is adorable, Mabel is my sweet and awkward soul sister and Joe is a Lupo so enough said. Haha but no really if you’ve read the authors other series you’ll appreciate the crossover and you’ll realize there is something special about the Lupo men. Everything about this one felt genuine and heartfelt, from the way these two took things slowly after she gets pregnant to the fumbling but well meaning way Joe handled so many situations with Mabel, I was impressed by the authenticity here. This one also made me giddy, such a warm hug of a book with the cutest interactions plus an extra side of spice. Family is so important to both Mabel and Joe and they each have some of the best family members so seeing these clans come together was so sweet and special. I’m super sad to say goodbye to this series but what an absolutely perfect send off

This was a really fun and entertaining mystery with a likable main character and a great setting. It’s always fun to feel like you’re solving a case alongside an amateur sleuth and that’s exactly what happened here. The narrator was engaging and charming and while this wasn’t groundbreaking it sure was a fun way to spend a few hours.

Wow this one was wild! I don’t read much horror but every year around this time I try to read a few and then the description of this one just sounded really good to me and it totally was. I loved that it was a balance between really strange and bizarre happenings and the regular occurrences of being a new mother, it made it all the more frightening to me because it seemed like the crazy shit that was happening to Flora may actually be possible. This was very creepy and pretty gory, think descriptions of gross stuff and you definitely get that here, but it is horror so I expected to be grossed out and I was. The author captured some of those unique experiences that new mothers face but she did it with a supernatural twist and I have to say, it was clever. If you don’t mind dark and disturbing this was pretty good!

When the author starts a brand new series I get giddy because I know I’m about to fall in love with a brand new town and a whole host of characters and after reading this first book I’m already head over heels in love. Something about this one was so sweet and wholesome, don’t get me wrong, it was sexy and spicy still but the relationship between Ainsley and Lachlan was just too cute. His daughter, Rose was adorable and that’s probably another aspect that made this so pure for me. I clearly loved Ainsley and Lachlan but I also really enjoyed his friend group and can’t wait to learn more. The author always writes beautiful romances with plenty of depth and emotion and this was no exception, if you like small town, single parent, second chance, and brothers best friend this was so so good

If you like to read somewhat seasonally and tend to gravitate towards dark academia in the fall this would be an excellent choice for you! I love a campus novel and add in secret societies, sisters and some mysteries and I’m hooked. This flips between sisters Maya in the past and present and Naomi in the months leading up to her death and while the chapters were mostly short, the pacing was more steady. This isn’t a one sitting type of read, it’s the kind where you wanna sink your teeth into it and spend some time with it which is exactly how I read it. Though there is one core mystery there are several other threads making this such a multifaceted read and the author also explored race and privilege in this setting in such a smart and gripping way. It had a ton of depth and substance so if you like mysteries with layers try this.

This one won’t be for everyone, it’s different and it took me by surprise in a good way. The subject matter is deeply personal to the author as the main character, Eliot has OCD and the author does as well. So there’s no question that the reading experience is an authentic one and because it’s so realistic it’s sometimes difficult as the reader to be so deep inside Eliot’s head. Things are oftentimes heavy and dark but I was so invested in her that I stayed with it. It also has many funny and tender moments as well and I adored Eliot’s dysfunctional and well meaning family, it’s just a lot sometimes. If you like family dramas with lots of heart and an exploration of mental health try this.

This series is just adorable and has the perfect balance between cute moments and all the small town vibes and some heat to keep things spicy. Briar & Emmett were made for each other and their love story was tender, sweet and so fun to witness. You can’t ever go wrong with a Jason Clarke & Ava Erickson duo as narrators, they’re both so good

I’m busy curating my fall reading guide so as soon as I got a copy of this I knew I had to try it. Nothing says fall like one of the authors books and I’m always down for a vampire story. I was in this one from the beginning, seeing how Naomi and Sloane would come to accept their fate as new vampires was interesting and brought up so many good questions about life and morals and values in general. The pacing here was fast and engaging as these two characters try to navigate bizarre circumstances but it totally lost me in the end. Things ended abruptly with no real resolution and after such a great buildup I was disappointed. If I still have questions after an epilogue I’m not happy and that’s what happened here. But as a whole this was entertaining and worthwhile if you don’t mind a lackluster ending.

I love Elle Kennedy’s books so much that I do this weird thing and hoard them and don’t read them because I don’t wanna run out because that would be awful. But when @read_bloom sent me this gorgeous copy I knew I had to start it and it was SO good! I haven’t read Him or Us yet (book hoarder) and this is a spin off of those but I was fine jumping in here. Blake was such a refreshing character, yes he’s slightly obnoxious but he is authentically who he is and there was something charming about that. I loved that he was honest about his feelings for Jess and didn’t play any mind games with her and it didn’t hurt that he was hilarious. Her character grew on me, learning more about her backstory definitely made me like her more than I did initially and seeing her open up to Blake was adorable. Adored this one and think you will to if you like hockey, friends with benefits, a great friend group and an even better family and some spice.
