I’m busy curating my fall reading guide so as soon as I got a copy of this I knew I had to try it. Nothing says fall like one of the authors books and I’m always down for a vampire story. I was in this one from the beginning, seeing how Naomi and Sloane would come to accept their fate as new vampires was interesting and brought up so many good questions about life and morals and values in general. The pacing here was fast and engaging as these two characters try to navigate bizarre circumstances but it totally lost me in the end. Things ended abruptly with no real resolution and after such a great buildup I was disappointed. If I still have questions after an epilogue I’m not happy and that’s what happened here. But as a whole this was entertaining and worthwhile if you don’t mind a lackluster ending.
