I LOVED this book!! I absolutely love the way Jamie writes, so gentle and friendly. This was a quick read, but it was fantastic.
Brynne is sassy and ballsy and fun, as well as instantly likeable.
Carter is adorable in his dopeyness.
Like I said, it’s a quick read, but it’s fun, flirty, hot, and a definite favourite!

I think this book was a great finish to the series. As sad as much of the subject matter was here, it was nice to see not everything is perfect, even if the family unit is.
I absolutely love this series, these characters, and as sad as I am for the series come to an end, this was a fitting one.

I genuinely liked this book. I loved Lennon and Noah and Nova were awesome. I liked how this story started and unfolded, but one thing I didn’t quite get was how Noah made that initial leap.
I also liked the supporting cast of characters, mikey and Charlotte especially.

A great read
Let me start off by saying I love this series. I love all the guys and girls and the family they've created.
I didn't love this book. I felt it was rushed and skimped on the character development. I didn't see any development of feelings between Mack and Trick, it just happened. We see none of the good stuff of their developing feelings, you know, the great part of early relationships.
I also don't understand why Mack was so anti-social. I get her history, but to me, it didn't add up to what it was playing out as. Why was she afraid to order in restaurants? Why was she so Shy?
Also, I felt like Trick could've been more complex. He clearly had money, hello Rolex and yellow diamond earrings, so why not tell us why he preferred to live in a small apartment?
In addition to this, in the last few chapters there was a ton of info dumped, not least the buried lead with Trick's fight.
I feel like there could've been so much more for this book but it was restricted for whatever reason.
I wanted to love it, but couldn't.

Holy. Wow! This book is Hot! And it has a great storyline. A lot of it was setting it up for what I assume will happen in the following books, but it was interesting and intriguing, but not so heavy you check out.
I love Greer and Ash is whoa! Embry is smoking too.
Can’t wait to read the following books.

I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this book and chose to review it.
Oh boy. I’m a big fan of brothers best friend books and this one sounded amazing! Unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations. This book was all over the place.
To begin with, it was NOT a standalone as it was marketed. Having not read the first book I had no idea who the characters were, how they related to each other or half of the stuff that was mentioned. I still have no idea. If it’s part of a series, that’s fine, just please don’t say it’s a standalone if it’s not.
Second, everything happens at breakneck speed. There was no building of anticipation, it was all just wham, bam, done. I really think it would’ve benefited from a less haste, with room to breathe and events spread out over more than a chapter.
Going on from this, I really liked what happened with Josie, but I would’ve LOVED if this was stretched out, and built on.
I also think the stuff with Marcus, who I’m still not sure of who he is, belongs in his own book. Half of this books is concerned with him. Having no connection with him, I found I wasn’t really interested in it.
I wanted to like this book, but it was done in such a way that didn’t allow me to, sorry.

Wow! This series in intense but I can’t help but be sucked in by it! Even when you wish there wouldn’t be so much focus on the past and just get to the now, you’re still rushing to read every word on the page.
I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first, too much focus on the past, but I do like that it isn’t so twisty and turny that you check out.
Can’t wait to start the last book!

Whoa... this series was... unexpected, and hot, but great.
I loved the intrigue, and the in depth explanation we get from each of the main characters. I’ve said before I like how it wasn’t so complicated, but I felt it could’ve been more here. Abilene’s role could’ve been expanded, her motives clearer, and the a defence against her bigger.
But I did like this series, even if it wasn’t entirely up my alley. Still, everything seemed just this side of going too far.
It’s a great read, highly recommended.

4.5 stars.
Ugh, this book was SO close to being 5 stars for me. It was headed that way but then things started dragging on a little. I felt like after about 65% of this book I was waiting for something to happen, for Slade to be deployed. For me, that came way too late and what happened in the aftermath was not enough and was kind of brushed over too easily. I think there was a real opportunity for the difficulties of dealing with the aftermath of a deployment to be explored here but it was all tied up quickly and easily.
Still, I loved how strong Austyn was, and I liked that Kaylee’s usual formula was flipped here and Slade was the one without family. Together they are a great couple and this is still a great book, even if the lead was buried WAY under.

I actually enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I said at the end of the last book I didn't see the point for this book, but it was good to see the rebuilding of the empire.
I liked Kali in this book, but Ashwin got on my nerves. I also thought the order of the chapters was a little off. There were times when I wanted a certain pov but it didn't come.
I also thought some of the solutions came to easily, especially with Tinley and Ashwin at the end, as well as Kalinda's journey. There were inconsistencies with Enlil's battle as well. How did the public see inside the palace? And the Cala/Inanna/Kali/Deven/Enlil thing got a little confusing as well.
Nevertheless, this was a solid end to the series and I did enjoy it. A good light fantasy read if you're looking for something that isn't as involved as other full-on series.
