I have so many mixed feelings about this book. I enjoy the series but I feel this book went backwards in a way. I felt the story was immature and the action was too simple. Everything came so easily.
In terms of characters, Kali annoyed the living daylights out of me. She could never decide what she wanted and so many random issues were brought up.
And the ending leading to the fourth book, so strange and obviously an attempt to prolong the series, I don't get it.
But like I said, I enjoy the series, even through its faults and will read until the end.

I have to say I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first. There were issues i had with the first one which I didn’t mind, but with this book I did. There are so many leaps the author makes and I just don’t see how they’re possible. I also felt like the tournament was a contrived way of adding tension, violence, and an attempt at a love triangle.
There were also times when I felt the Book was confused, particularly at the start and the author didn’t know where she wanted to go.
For me, the storyline was too similar to the first book, especially the second half where it was almost identical to the first. If you’re binge reading, or even reading them in order you need a little variety.
Again, I felt the language was clunky and the action scenes were stilted.
I’m still interested to see what happens in the series, but I’ll need a change up.

I really enjoyed this book. The story was great, taking turns where I thought I knew what would happen, and with enough romance to get me through.
One thing I will say is the at times the language is a little clunky and doesn’t flow as well as it could, contractions are your friend, but that’s probably the only gripe I have.
Excited to read the rest of the series!

I absolutely adored this book! It was sweet, it was touching, it was funny, it was light, it was serious.
I absolutely loved Jade, she’s everything you want in a character.
Quentin is great too, someone I’d definitely be interested in if he were an adult!
This story had everything you want in a YA. Drama, fun, sweet kisses, even if I’d love to have seen more of that.
I highly recommend you pick up a copy of this book!

Holy. Wow! I loved this book! It was sweet, and touching, and dramatic, and real. The subject matter was tough but I thought it was handled well.
Tristan is just, heartbreaking, it in a good way.
Riley is tough, and sassy, and still vulnerable and is the girl you want to be when you grow up.
I think everyone needs to read this book. It was beautiful and I loved every minute of it.

I quite enjoyed this book. I liked the cast of characters and the intrigue of the plot. The strong romance themes were also a very welcome addition.
This wasn’t a pretty book. Some pretty heavy stuff happened, so if you’re not okay with violence or abuse I’d give this a miss, but it also had unexpectedly sweet moments which I liked.
I’m interested to see where the rest of the series goes.

I have no idea what the point of this book was. Seriously, none.
The game was interesting but the rules only applied when they were convenient and the clues were only relevant when they wanted to be.
Also, I felt there was zero chemistry between Scarlett and Julian. I couldn’t get behind them, which was disappointing considering I’m guessing it was supposed to be a major part of the book.
The hook into the next book was interesting but I’m unsure if it’s enough to get me to read it.

Gah! I absolutely loved this book! I don’t know how they keep doing this, excellent book after excellent book, but they do.
This book had all the feels. I laughed, I cried, I raged, I was shocked.
I LOVED Chase. So haunted, so trying to do what what’s right.
Beth was so feisty. There were so many times I raged on her behalf. She was so strong but put her emotions on display as well.
This book was everything and I loved it! Read it now!

I’m a little confused about this book. It feels like too many tropes competing and none of them really fit. You have a rockstar romance, brothers best friend, mafia/suspense, and small town. It’s a lot in what isn’t a long book.
I also felt like things happened too fast and were resolved too easily. I also felt like things were so far fetched that it pushed it into unrealistic territory.
Individually I liked Ryker and Norah, they work as a couple too, but I’m not sure their circles mesh well.
I think if things were pulled back a little, a little more realistic the book may have worked better. Sorry!

I quite enjoyed this book, I've read it a few times now. Each time I do read it though, I'm always struck by how much the book would be improved if the story was told in 2 parts, past and present. So much of the story takes place in the past and I would love to have seen it.
But I love Reed and Ari and Davis as well. Operation Matthews is a classic, even if I think there's a tad too much sex, which isn't usually a bad thing. It's just every interaction it seems ends in sex.
But like I said, it's a great book, lots of romance, lots of heat, lots of drama.
