The Warrior Queen
by Emily R. King
I actually enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I said at the end of the last book I didn't see the point for this book, but it was good to see the rebuilding of the empire.
I liked Kali in this book, but Ashwin got on my nerves. I also thought the order of the chapters was a little off. There were times when I wanted a certain pov but it didn't come.
I also thought some of the solutions came to easily, especially with Tinley and Ashwin at the end, as well as Kalinda's journey. There were inconsistencies with Enlil's battle as well. How did the public see inside the palace? And the Cala/Inanna/Kali/Deven/Enlil thing got a little confusing as well.
Nevertheless, this was a solid end to the series and I did enjoy it. A good light fantasy read if you're looking for something that isn't as involved as other full-on series.
