While the premise is interesting, with the disappearance of a childhood friend, the characters themselves are very irritating. This might be a first for me that I found the characters on the show to be more interesting and less annoying. There wasn't enough with each of the girls to get the to really enjoy their storylines. The mystery of Ali and who A is should have been more central

I had ups and downs with this book. On the one hand it has a beautiful prose that is almost lyrical. There are side stories that are told with such detail and rhythm that even side characters are so well developed. But, there isn't enough dialogue to move the story along. It is more of a retelling of this story than living in it. The characters are okay as is the plot, although the plot is very slow moving at times. I wanted the story to have more of a solid plot than just a story about family and love through the years.

I really liked this book. The storyline, while being vampires that can become cliche, was really unique. There weren't many times I was bored with a great plot and stunning characters. The alternating chapters was fun and the death quotes were fantastic. I felt myself wanting to go to a Coldtown (not for long) but to experience this interesting world. I felt as though some of the ending scenes were a big rushed but all in all a great read!

As with the first book in this series I liked the storyline but got bored in several places. It's fun to see these characters from the comic come to life in some backstory. I liked Lilly but not enough to really read a whole book about her so I was happy that her story was cut with that if the governor and bob.

This was a good quick read but there were a few things that turned me off. First, the characters were good and the way it is set up is fun. I liked how the different sections go back into the past if this serial killer. What I didn't like was some o the actually writing. It annoyed me that it jumps between first and third person. The mystery was interesting although I did guess the killer before the end. My biggest negative was that the first 40% of the book was very slow with not much happening except set up for the end of the book.

My rating is more like 3 1/2 stars. There were some things I really liked but others that I was kinda meh about. It was an interesting look at Charley not knowing who she is and discovering all of her friends for the first time. I missed her early relationship with Reyes where she didn't know what to do with him and I got to see that again. On the other hand, there was too much going on but at the same time the story lagged in the beginning too much. A lot happens with the supernatural at the end that felt too rushed because most of the book dealt with more "human" issues that dragged on and then ended abruptly. I still love this series and am going right into the 10th book. The characters are great with some hilarious and very sexy moments.

After a couple of lackluster installments (at least for me), I have to say that I enjoyed this book in the Charley Davidson series, BUT I had some major problems with it. First off, it was a solid Charley story that moved along the main storyline as well as giving you a couple of mysteries to follow along. The characters all were his or her classic selves and the whole world Jones created keeps getting more complex. Now, the bad part. The mystery was pretty obvious. I figured it out the second Charley interviewed her client. The flow was also a little off for me. It was very fast in parts and very drawn out in others. I liked the part where Charley and Reyes had it out and talked but it lasted three chapters. And then the end flew by. Even with this thought, I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the rest of the series.

I am officially in love with Rainbow Rowell, her characters, and her writing. Fangirl was fantastic I felt drawn to Cath and found so many similarities between her and me. I even found myself crying through some scenes that just really broke my heart. I love Levi and the rest of the supporting characters. The story is good, if only a little too jam packed but I still found myself really enjoying the world if the novel. I'm on to Eleanor and Park now!

While I did like this book, I liked Fangirl better. But, as with Fangirl, Eleanor and Park is beautifully written. It also deals with a much heavier topic than the other. This book was very emotionally driven and shows a great snapshot of first teenage love. I liked how both Eleanor and Park were misfits, not really fitting into the world around them. Their love story is a sweet one. I did go down one star because I really wanted more. I read that Rowell was thinking about writing a sequel and I hope she does. I'm not ready to be done with these two!

I went back and looked at my reviews of the other two books and feel as though I have the same feelings about this one, which one big difference. While I mostly liked the first two books, I didn't like this final one. Ringer is not one of my favorite characters, ever, and I hated that she became pretty much central to the story and this book. Cassie went from a character I liked to one that just annoyed me. There were chapters that were long and drawn out. But the thing I liked the least was the big reveal dealing with the aliens. It is always a bad thing when an explanation for why they are there has to be explained not once, not twice, but countless times. And the explanation wasn't that shocking or even interesting. The books got worse as they went on and this conclusion wasn't the greatest. Disappointing.
