This is a wonderful book with engaging characters and a fascinating storyline ranging over the first half of the twentieth century. I enjoyed the split timeline format, and the inclusion of letters and newspaper reports. This is a potential top 10 of the year contender for me.

I enjoyed this, but not as much as I wanted to. The premise of a month in the spring in a castle in Italy sounds wonderful, but I was frustrated by the behaviour and choices of pretty much all the characters at some point in the story. Overall, though, it was a good read.

I think this is my favourite of all the Three Pines series. Three Pines at Christmas - what's not to love? And the interweaving of the current murder investigation and all the backstory involved in that with the overarching corruption plotline is masterly. The characters are wonderful as usual.

This was a lovely romance story with lovable characters who actually talked to each other. (I really dislike the miscommunication trope.) The growth of their relationship was natural and believable, and the disability representation was a bonus.

This was an enjoyable quick read. I enjoyed the twists and turns, and trying to guess whodunnit (I failed: I always fail). I really liked Inspector Battle as a character. The ending was surprising, to me at least, and there was one aspect of it that didn't ring true at all, but on the whole, this was a good read.

A good fill-in, not my favourite, but nice to see Robin as Head Girl and more of the School during the War years.

This was a fascinating insight into the lives of two women, one of whom I knew little about, and the other whom I'd never heard of. I liked the alternating voices, chronicling the development of their friendship and how they were able to work together for civil rights. It was a sobering view of the reality of the Jim Crow laws. A really worthwhile and enjoyable read.

This is a story of a newlywed couple where the husband is spending all too  much time at work and neglecting his wife. The twist is that he is working on the Apollo 11 moon landing mission, which makes a familiar story unfamiliar, and adds an added element - is he justified in neglecting his wife for such an important once-in-a-lifetime moment? I enjoyed it.

This is a marvellous, take-no-criticism book for me, far and away the best of the Hunger Games series. Haymitch always struck me as the most interesting character in the original trilogy, and this cemented it for me, explaining ow he became the bitter cynical alcoholic that he did. I loved the Easter eggs of recognised characters, and the building on the world that we already knew. Wonderful.

I did not enjoy this book. The author's willingness to admit his own shortcomings and to take some of the blame for his wife's infidelity was admirable, but I didn't like his use of humour or his writing style. It was an interesting story, and I felt for both him and his wife and sympathised with their struggles, but I didn't warm to either of them. And there was altogether too much Jesus for this ex-Christian, although the small church they moved to does seem wonderful.
