This was a fascinating insight into the lives of two women, one of whom I knew little about, and the other whom I'd never heard of. I liked the alternating voices, chronicling the development of their friendship and how they were able to work together for civil rights. It was a sobering view of the reality of the Jim Crow laws. A really worthwhile and enjoyable read.
