David F. Walker is a very talented writer. I say this with only reading volume 1-2 of Power Man and Iron Fist. I think he's such a good writer that I plan on checking out his other books. I really dug the first volume as it's one of the best FUN books I've read in forever. I enjoyed volume 2 too but why is it a 3 out of 5 when the first was 5 out of 5? Civil War 2.

I actually didn't HATE Civil War 2 event. I just thought it was meh. This event kind of fucks up the flow of this volume. I thought our heroes might have skipped out on Civil War but I'm assuming editorial like "Nooooo you come here!" and bam.

What I liked: Love the chemistry between Cage and Danny. They are just so fun together. I also love their more personal look into their lives and how they've come up similar but so very different. Also love all the supporting cast, especially the magician because he's too funny. It's great to see a large cast, a very diverse cast, really work well together. I give all credit to David for being able to give such a large cast a lot of different voices. The last few panels hit hard for me and loved those moments of character growth.

What I didn't like: The art doesn't seem as well done in this than the last. Was there a different artist? Just seems a bit off. I also hated carol in here, as I did during all of Civil War 2, and I just felt the whole prison scene went on too long and didn't give me the feels I wanted. The first two issues were great, but the other two were just okay. The christmas special was fun, but nothing special.

Overall I really do love these characters. So sad the next arc is the last one. I wish David could write 5 or 6 volumes worth of Power Man and Iron Fist. This one will be missed sadly! A 3 out of 5.

Re-reading these so i can catch up. Still enjoy this series. Just a fun, bouncing, adventure with a pretty awesome protagonist. I love the mix of religion, culture, and fun adventure this series got going for it. Again the origin of her powers is dumb but the rest is good.

Damn great first few issues. I do admit the way she got her powers was lame but everything else works. Solid dialog, great action scenes, good character development so far. I'm really digging it.

Pains me to rate this one so slow. It's more around a 2.5 but it's a little bit of a mess. With Nail biter 1-5 we got a few bumps along the way but overall it was well paced and interesting. This one felt very very rushed. I don't know if it's because got canned ot because Joshua just wanted it to end but it felt extremely rushed.

What I liked: The art is still top notched. Love the way it all flows. The backstory of Warren was also interesting and liked that quite a bit. The end result was explained decently...kind of?

What I didn't like: The ending was little crappy. I saw it coming and then the reveal wasn't all that great, and the final few pages felt very tagged on. Also the exposition is crazy high in this volume and rushed so much it ruined the flow completely.

Nailbiter is a good series and I really do recommend it. Volume 1-3 and 5 are all amazing. 4 and 6 are the low points but still find some enjoyable moments. I'll still check out anything Joshua puts out but can't say I was satisfied with the ending to this one.

Another solid fun volume though the villain is the least interesting of them all. As I said earlier I love gantz. I read up to volume 12 when younger and watched the anime a few times. This hunt in particular is one of my least favorites though there are good moments. This time the villains turn out to be BIRDS! Yes. Birds who can tear your insides out by screaming in your ears. Kei still doesn't have a suit so it's time for Kato to step up.

What I liked: Loved the death of a certain character. They tried to humanize him some, and it worked, but I was kind of glad he got what he deserved after all that big fucking talk. Also the fight between that person and the bird man was sweeeet. The part with the gangsters getting their heads popped off was great too. Also, boobs!

What I didn't like: The death of two other people was kind of overkilled. Also no reason for that one person to be naked. Felt weird. But naked people in this series is a normal thing so I should have known. Also the bird villains aren't scary or any humanity to them like Onion man so they just kind of bleh.

Overall it's a fun volume just not great. THat's okay, not everyone volume will be amazing and I can live with a decent volume here or there!

Holy hell did I like a suicide squad book? This is insane! This "New Suicide Squad" is very much worth checking out for the pure balls to the walls moments. Lots of shit explodes, bad guys throw dialog that'll make you laugh all the time, and the switch ups with the team keeps happening to make it interesting. If you ask me to tell you the whole plot it sums up as "Bad guys stopping other bad guys and shit explodes." But hey, it's funny and entertaining and for that alone I was having a blast.

What I liked: The comedy was solid. There's a moment reverse flash breaks his fucking kneecap trying to run too fast. I nearly died laughing out loud. Like it was perfect moment. On top of that you got Manta as team lead. He's fucking badass. Also the arkwork is solid and the fights look great. Actually almost everything art wise looks great.

What I didn't like: What the fuck was the plot? Who knows. Also Harley was kind of stupid as hell in this. Like dumber than usual. And Joker's daughter was dumb as hell. Who is she? Yeah don't let her back.

SO yeah this is so worth getting. Easy to jump on because "story" is lolz anyway. The fighting is fun, the characters are fun, the dialog is solid, this is very much worth checking out! Go for it! 4/5!

This is officially my first Green Lantern book I've read (unless count Omegemen. Which has a Lateran in it...and it's very good. Go read it.)

Green Lanterns is the story of two characters, very different, who have to work together to take down the RED. The red are basically filled with rage and want to make everyone in the world fill up with...you guessed it...RAGEEEEEEE!

Jessica has been a Lantern before, and it seemed she fucked up (again haven't read any other title...this is probably not the best idea) and she must team up with none other than Simon...who is basically a man with a "dark" past that makes him bullheaded. Two very different characters now have to stop the world from turning into insane evil rage monsters.

It's not bad actually. The goods are the art, which I enjoyed. I also love the dialog between the two main characters. Having them back and forth convos, which are mostly humorous, makes it a easy and enjoyable read.

The negatives really come down to the pacing, it seems off, or rushed. It also wraps up to easy for such a BIG threat. I also didn't like some of the forced background stories making the characters seem weaker when it should be about growth not forced emotion.

Either way this did get me excited enough to want to continue. I also really should get on that GL omnibus...I will I swear....I just need money...I NEED MONEY...okay I'm good. A 3/5!

Almost went a full 5 out of 5 stars. This was so good I picked up the next 4 volumes on Ebay. Secret Six. What the fuck is that? Bad guys doing good things? That sounds like Suicide Squad! Well think SS, but with more characters, more emotional moments, and a more coherent story (for the most part). Gail Simone is quickly climbing my list of damn good comics writers. Take Catman (Not woman) Bane, Deadshot, and a few others and throw them on a mission to get this magical "card". But someone is after them and a bounty is set on them. DUM DUM DUM!

What I liked: The art is solid all the way around. Easy to follow, everyone has a unique look, no complaints there. The pacing is near perfect. We have character moments, humor moments, and then of course the story itself moving at a steady speed. We have a villain I was actually SCARED of to. I also loved the chemistry between everyone in the party. Each is so different and one of the big twist caught me off guard.

What I didn't like: The last issue was a little to insane for the rest of this series. I liked it being low key and easy to follow but then it got into a big brawl and those are never as fun as they want it to be. It ended on that so felt a bit down.

Saying the ending was little mehish shouldn't stop you from reading this. I recommend this for ANYONE! It's so damn funny, very entertaining, well done characters, and excellent pacing. This is a 4.5 out of 5.

This wasn't awful it was just meh. A big old meh of a title. They decided to make this squad just like the movie because...well shit man if you watch movies you read comics right? That goes for like 5% of the movie population if even that. I never understand why the hell they do that. So this time the squad is sent to do...oh who the fuck knows. And they meet obstacles in their way! OH NO!

What I like: I liked Deadshot here still. Got some good laughs. And...the art can be good at times...sometimes...

What I didn't like: Zod losing to the squad? Get the fuck out of here. Also the art is really bad sometimes. Everyone on the squad feels TOO much like the movie version and that's not good. Rick flag sucks.

Yeah this was just a very meh read. Especially coming from New Suicide Squad in new52. I really want to go back to that series. Just a lot more fun with that team than the...whatever boring movie team we got here.

Death is never easy to deal with. You can hear about someone you knew just a little dying and you become sad. You can even hear about a person you never met who had died and feel something. When it's your family or friends it's the toughest. Now losing your kid...I can't imagine. This volume covers the stages of loss with a perfect balance I couldn't get over it. The way Bruce must come to terms of losing his 10l year old son is both heartbreaking and character defining. It shows a man who never takes no or impossible for a answer tries to push people around him to the edge to get what he wants back.

His son.

But maybe this time it isn't as simple as being smart or finding a way. Maybe it's about accepting it. That might be the one mission Batman can't do.

What I liked: The first issue is top 10 issues of comics of all time for me. It has no dialog, just shows Bruce first dealing with his sons death. It's touching, it's heartbreaking, it's so well done it nearly made me cry. I loved the next few issues dealing with the Batfamily and how they interact with Bruce who's mourning. The highlights being Red Hood (Jason) issue and Dick's issue. Both very well done but the best moment comes at the very end of the volume when we see Alfred come to terms of losing Damien. We forget sometimes that besides Bruce Alfred has lost just as much. Hell, he even lost Bruce at one point. It truly is a scene that'll make you teary eye atleast.

What I didn't like: Catwomen arc wasn't as good as the rest but hardly bad. I get the message and a good diversion from the remaining ones.

This is hands down some of the best Batman has to offer. This will go down as my favorite volume in New52, or atleast top 5. It's so well crafted, written, and executed that I dunno if I'd read it again because I don't wanna cry. Thank you Peter for giving humanity to so many characters and making us feel for them. A 5/5.

This is more on the 3.5 scale but going to go with 3 because felt the later half wasn't as strong as the first half. I haven't read Harbinger for I believe over a year but was pretty easy getting right back in to it. The group is easy to like and this volume mainly focuses on Toyo. This man has been hunting our main group of Renegades (Their name they made up) and you get to see his past. This also ties in with Valient's crossover Harbinger Wars so it has Bloodshot in it (Whom I not read yet) so there's that.

What I liked: Loved Toyo backstory. You really get to learn why he became such a prick but it makes total sense. His background is screwed up but insanely interesting IMO and I loved the end result of what happened to make him the business man he is today. Learn and grow. I also still enjoy the banter and characters of the main group. Peter is beginning to grow quite nice. From the first volume of being a complete ass to a man who can run his team is nice to see.

What I didn't like: Showing off bloodshot was...boring? I was expecting way more. Very underwhelming. Also the whole ending felt like they lost but not really lost much. I dunno the end result wasn't as exciting as I expected.

Overall this is still a real solid volume. A few negatives hold it back but damn I loved Toyo background. I hear the next few volumes really pick up so lets do it! A 3.5/5.
