(reread) loved it just as much as the first time <3

This book had me giggling, kicking my feet, and grinning ear to ear reading it. It always put me in a good mood, like watching your favorite romcom when you're down. It's a bit cheesy but it needs to be turned into a romcom it was so cute and cheesy. Lucy was extremely loveable and relatable - loved her socially awkward, girl next door cuteness! Cooper had me blushing as much as Lucy throughout he was so cute. This is a comfort read for sure!

"He's so muscles and charisma, and right now I'm ninety-seven percent candy bars and MSG."

I have always admired Michelle Obama because of her initiative she took with child obesity and making that better so I was hoping to get more insight as to how and why she decided to do more with that. This book had a ton of information so it did cover that along with a lot more. She did a lot while her husband was in office, especially for someone who didn't have an interest in politics.

I enjoyed hearing about some of her experiences through childhood and her new adulthood and how she became the person she is and the people she interacted with shaped her to the person she is today. I liked that she gave law school students, who had a B on their transcripts or not as many extra activities, a fighting chance because maybe they didnt have the same opportunities as those with a better looking resume.

When she talked about her friend, at the young age of 26, was dying of cancer, it reminded me of my thoughts I had with my sister. How I also judged her for the choices she chose to "live life". I liked how Michelle realized that those choices her friend made were experiences she chose were the right choices because it was the ones she was supposed to experience and that was living life to the fullest "the right way".

I really liked that throughout the whole book it felt very unbiased between political parties. She even talked about how her and Barack had the same mindset that the United States was divided in the sense of red and blue and how they didn't want that. But then when Trump got introduced (towards the end of the book/transitioning between presidency), I felt the hate. Whether it is warranted or not, the book then became political and kinda turned me off a bit.

For a less than 300 page book this book had its ups and downs. Overall it was a good story but I feel like it was trying to do too much in too little. I also felt like there was a lot of telling rather than letting the characters and story play itself out. I don't know if either of those makes sense but something was off. Not too much depth in characters or story. It was a good intro to light bdsm/kinks storyline though.

My favorite Tessa Bailey in her Big Shot series so far! Cute meet cute to kick it off and spicy throughout!

nope. I'm not doing childhood cancer. no thank you.

It's ironic that Claire the manuscript editor of Savannah's manuscript says everything is overdone and that her work is all over the place..because that's what this book was as well..Ive read this setting with the romance formulas time and time again and I think that's why I couldn't get into it? There wasn't much for my to get excited about. But still cute!

This just wasn't for me. The multiple povs and short chapters made it an easier and interesting read but I wasn't into it as much as I hoped. I liked that even though there were multiple povs, they each felt developed as their own type of character. I was reminded of Kya from Where the Crawdads Sing and Agatha from the live action Beauty and the Beast and the surrounding people around them. It's an interesting book with a good theme; just not for me. There were a few quotes that stood out to me which I loved (see below).

"I'm fat," she said plainly.
I reared back. "You are? Says who?"
"The scale. The mirror."
"And the scale and mirror spoke to you and said, 'You're fat'?" I shook my head. "I think it's time to get a new scale and mirror."

It's easy to cast stones when you're not the one being asked to make the sacrifice.

Perhaps all of us are not who we seem, each of us altering the narrative to portray nobler versions that make us appear better than we are.

anger is a wasted emotion, more detrimental to the bearer than the target.

Oh my gosh!! GAH! Someone needs to make this movie! Man, the TWISTS came out of no where. I had some questionable thoughts and wondered how things were going to play out and it all played out more than I could imagine. I ached and cried. The last moments with Kitt & Kai - WRECKED ME. Crazy and amazing way to end. Highly recommend this series!
