I hate that I didn’t love this book as much as I thought I was going to.
The author’s voice in writing is very beautiful, but I found that I honestly didn’t care that much about the characters.
The premise of two warring Viking clans coming together to demolish another more powerful Viking clan that was out to destroy the clans is a cool story. But I feel like the action and fighting scenes in this book fell flat. I wanted more action considering this is a book about Vikings.
Also the ending tied together too nicely for me. Not everything has to work out in stories. I was waiting for someone to betray someone else. But all the characters just fell into this perfect little storyline.

Snow in Love is a collection of short stories about teenagers in love around Christmas/ holiday time. I really enjoyed this collection. All of the stories included are well written and fun to read. My only complaint is I wish I got more of the stories. I felt like I got super invested in some of the characters especially in Snow and Mistletoe by Kasie West and The Magi’s Gift by Melissa de la Cruz and after the story ended I really want to know more about where the characters end up.
If you’re looking for a good early elementary book to introduce kids to basic coding concepts the Girls Who Code Book series is fantastic!
I just finished the first book and I really felt like I was learning coding concepts with the girls in the book. The author did a good job of explaining coding concepts like loops, conditionals, input/output in a way that made sense, but wasn’t belittling to child readers.
I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.

This is a good, funny read aloud in the same way that The Book with No Pictures is a good, funny read aloud. I like books that make you say funny things but that is also cute and good natured in the end.
Well Met was the nerdy, delicious romance novel that I didn't know I needed.
In this book we learn the tales of Emily, a young women restarting her life after heart break, and Simon, a young man trying to find his way after the devastating loss of his brother. Emily meets Simon after she moves in with her sister to help with chores after her sister is in a car accident. Emily ends up volunteering at the local Renaissance Faire that is run by none other than Simon.
This is an enemies to lovers story that will have any book nerd swooning and laughing along with the cast of characters. Jen DeLuca has a way of creating characters that I truly cared about and spend the entire story rooting for.
I just saw that there might be a sequel to this book and oh my am I ready for more from this world.

I just love Tessa Dare books. I love how the female always wins in the end. A romance book with a good romp in the sheets is almost always a welcome read for me, but a romance read with a gorgeous leading man, steamy sex, and a women who gets to pursue her career ambitions in the end is always end of a story a good read for me.
The fact that the main character in this book is a young book worm with social anxiety just really makes this a 5 star romance read for me.

The fact that it took me 6 months to read half of this book really is a telling sign of how I excited I was about this story.
When I was first introduced to Jessica and Lucius I could not get enough of their story. As characters they were both equally compelling. There was the will they or won’t they suspense of waiting to see if they would get together or not. I devoured the first book and the wedding novella is a day.
This book, however, lacked any kind of intrigue. In this book we follow Jessica/Antanasia to Romania as she makes her mark on the vampire royalty throne. At one point Lucious is accused of killing an elder vampire and both Lucious and Antanasia become public enemies in the vampire world.
Throughout the entire book I just found myself simply not interested in the characters any more. To me their story could have ended after they got married and I would have felt satisfied as a reader.
