Jessica Rules the Dark Side
by Beth Fantaskey
The fact that it took me 6 months to read half of this book really is a telling sign of how I excited I was about this story.
When I was first introduced to Jessica and Lucius I could not get enough of their story. As characters they were both equally compelling. There was the will they or won’t they suspense of waiting to see if they would get together or not. I devoured the first book and the wedding novella is a day.
This book, however, lacked any kind of intrigue. In this book we follow Jessica/Antanasia to Romania as she makes her mark on the vampire royalty throne. At one point Lucious is accused of killing an elder vampire and both Lucious and Antanasia become public enemies in the vampire world.
Throughout the entire book I just found myself simply not interested in the characters any more. To me their story could have ended after they got married and I would have felt satisfied as a reader.
