I definitely would not have spend $15 on this book.

Overall I really loved looking at the photography in this book. The photos were calm, serene and really and really represented the kind of peaceful life I want to strive for in 2020.

Do I think that this book offered fantastic, life changing ideas for how to achieve this peacefulness? No. But sometimes we need to be reminded of how to find joy in even the simplest of things.

I came here to read Tessa Dare’s short story. Ever since I started her Girl Meets Duke series I’ve made it my mission to read her entire back catalog as well as future titles. Her writing is so easy breeze and certainly beautiful.

Her short story was good. It wasn’t my favorite thing I’ve ever read. And maybe by the very nature of it being a short story I didn’t feel like I had enough time to really connect to the characters. And honestly it took me a while to truly decide if I actually cared about whether or not Louise and James ended up together in the end. While I certainly don’t regret reading this story. I definitely won’t read it again.

I also read Sarah MacLean’s story. I did really enjoy her story The Duke of Christmas Present. MacLean’s writing style is not as easy and funny to me as Dare’s, but I felt like her story and my desire to care about the characters was greater in this story.

After that I read about half of Sophie Jordan’s “Heiress Alone.” I love the movie Home Alone. I love a Scottish dudes. Put them together in a historical romance and that sounds like a good time, but meh. It was not enough to keep me interested.

It was at that point that I threw in the reading towel and decided I was okay with not finishing the anthology because honestly I came into it to read Tessa Dare. My goal was finished and thus I could rightfully move on to my next read.

I listened to this book as my first audible book and damn was it good. This was my first sports romance book. As someone who is not very into sports I wasn't sure how I was going to like this story, however the mixture of the writing and the beautifully performed audio I could not seem to press stop on this until I listened to the entire time. Marley is singlehandedly my favorite female heroine that I have read about in recent books.

I love the fact that Marley has to find herself before she gets the fairytale ending. I love how her love interest is so kind a respectful of her, but at the same time has things to learn about being in a relationship with a strong, independent woman. The sex scenes aren't too shabby either.

#LoveIt

I listened to this book on Audible. I really enjoyed the fluffy love story between Caymen and Xander. There were enough twists, turns, and surprises to the plot to make me excited to find out what was going to happen next.

I’m obsessed with the pretty printed pages in A Little in Love by Susan E. Fletcher.
I ordered this book from Scholastic because I love all things Les Mis so I thought reading the story through a juvenile character’s eyes would be interesting. This book give Eponine such depth as a character and really shows the development of a truly morally grey character. As a reader I’m walking the line between feeling sad for her life situation and seeing her as a villain because of some of the choices she makes.
This book is fantastic and I highly recommend this as a way to introduce morally grey characters to middle grade readers.
