4.5 ? Very good! I was invested, the world is interesting though it's very clearly just Percy Jackson meets Hunger Games with Mexican elements.
Can't say I looove the characters, they're okay, but I'm hoping book two will make me love them more.
The way the people in this universe view trans people was perfect and felt so refreshing (the norm is to accepting of all genders and transitioning whenever you feel like it)!

This was incredible !! I couldn't put it down.
Though I'm newish to this genre, I'm really getting into more horror-type books with a little mystery and uneasy elements to it and this was perfect for me.
I highly recommend listening to the audiobook: it has sound effects!! Like you can here the birds, the wind, the beeeeees... And the narrator is perfect!
I also really appreciated the main character being genderfluid and how it seemed very casually yet realistically represented (though I'm not genderfluid so I'm looking forward to hearing what concerned people have to say about the rep!).

Holy Shit this was so good!!
I loved following these twisted characters, in this dark thrilling intense story.
We follow two main characters:
- Scarlet, a university professor who has managed to get away with murder for years, getting rid of the most disgustingly abusive men on campus.
- A shy freshman who is slowly learning to grow into herself while falling for her pretty roommate.
But the numerous deaths are starting to get suspicious and are now being investigated... This year might be the year Scarlet's killing streak goes completely wrong...
As much as I loved the main characters and how the story was a clear criticism of how men think they're owned everything, one small thing disappointed me: I would have mike to have seen, in contraste to all these horrid men, at least one or two truly nice men. Because this book shows every single male character as an awful and abusive person. While I appreciate criticizing a part of what many men can become, I do believe it important to nuance and show that a number of men can also be great people.
This does not take away from the fact that I absolutely loved this book. For its message and its characters. I was hooked from the get go.

Well this was addictive, well rounded characters, hot and a whole lot of fun.
4.5 ~ j'ai passé un super moment avec cette BD !!
C'était fluffy, mignon, super drôle et visuellement joli a regarder !
Le genre de petite histoire que je relirais volontiers pour me remonter le moral.

This story behind this graphic novel is quite simple and straightforward. But the characters are so wholesome and lovable, their relationship adorable.
The art was also wonderful.

- And there I was, only a few days ago, talking about how I don't get new favourites anymore. All I needed to do was read Ophelia After All.
This book was amazing.
- At its core it's about a teenage girl, Ophelia, coming to terms with who she is, and being scared that her friendships and family relationships will change if they ever find out she isn't the boy-crazy Ophelia they're all convinced she is.
It's about questioning who you are, especially your sexuality, questioning your friendships and being scared of what lies beyond high school, being afraid of change, but learning to accept and embrace it all.
And it was beautifully done.
- Ophelia is a flawed teenager, who goes through so much learning, so much growth. She felt so real and relatable.
- No one was perfect (except maybe for Wes, who is now clearly my absolute favourite fictional person), they all acted like teenagers going through high school, but their bonds and their different types of friendships were so touching and, once again, felt so real.
It left me crying with emotion, a book I want to go back to the start, read again, and annotate completely.
Thank you Racquel Marie.

4.5 / 5 ~ I didn't think I'd ever read a book about surviving a pandemic after the last couple of years we've had, but for some reason (maybe the queer relationship at the centre of this story) I picked this one up, and I don't regret it a bit.
The story follows two boys trying to make it through life after the superflu virus killed off 99% of the population.
Seeing how the people who survived are now starting to rebuild society in different ways was really interesting.
But what moved me the most was the relationship that gradually built between Andrew and Jamie. Their love for each other was so soft and warm and
This book may deal with a topic many of us have found difficult recently. But ultimately it is full of love and hope and I cannot recommend it enough.

4.5 / 5. ~ Yesss. For those looking for a book similar to the All For The Game series but with a little less disturbed teens, this one is perfect!
It deals with sports, team camaraderie, but most importantly it deals with family pressure, mental health and understanding how depression, as well as sexual identity, can impact the life of a young person dealing with public pressure of being one of the best sports players of their age while developing feelings for "the ennemy".
Loads of emphasis on friendships, positive family dynamics, and of course... A nice romance between teammates/rivals.
Ennemies to lovers? Nope. More like Rivals WHILE lovers

I hadn't been so invested in a story in such a long time!
The characters are very sweet, and relatable, and really cute let's be honest.
I also really appreciated the focus on mental health (OCD, Anxiety, Depression) and how it got felt with in a pretty realistic way.
