Wow! Awesome sequel. I cannot wait to read the final book in this series. Books like these are what makes me glad that I have joined the various book clubs and groups - The first book in this series, The Prison Healer, was read as part of a book club readalong. I’m completely invested in this series now. Highly highly recommend.

A gripping page- turner. I’ve always enjoyed Michael Crichton’s works - even the not so popular ones. James Patterson is also a favourite author. This collaborative work is truly a masterpiece - clearly the amount of research that was undertaken by Crichton is extensive and Patterson has done an excellent work in bringing together this nail-biting suspenseful book.

Classic Wodehouse. I love these short stories quite a bit more than the Jeeves series, in fact. A whole new cast of characters, an upper class on the verge of bankruptcy, wealthy new-money Americans, a few unscrupulous characters and a ton of misunderstanding and confusion. Best book to read with a smile plastered on my face.

I’m totally loving these cozy paranormal books. They are short, have a smidgen of mystery and leave a fuzzy, warm, happy feeling behind. I was surprised at how the story started out, but soon fell under the charm. The ending was also super satisfying. I’m sure the stories are so short and so engaging that I feel I really should complete reading the series.

Wonderful book. It was spooky, but not too much. Cozy Paranormal is just the right description. The mystery was really quite good, too. Liked the characters very much. I will definitely continue reading this series.

I must admit I was surprised by this book - it was too short, and it was more Christmas than Mystery. But then it was everything I signed up for. This is, as advertised, a Christmas Mystery novella. There’s so much baking and beer-ing and warm, cozy winter vibing throughout this book. A short mystery is sprinkled in, too. I quite enjoyed this book.

A book that neatly tied up all the myths surrounding the ancient Gods. The Shiva trilogy is a masterpiece in Indian mythology re-telling. I have loved reading Amish Tripathi’s books for a long time. This re-reading was so much fun, I’m glad I picked it up again.

I’m surprised at how this very famous woman was actually trapped by her own family even as she was performing all around the world. The concept of “conservatorship” seems to be so backwards and regressive; I’m surprised it is even legal. That said, I personally dislike the idea of people writing books to vent their personal grievances. Britney herself mentions how terrible she felt about her sister writing a book - why did Britney feel the need to do the same? Perhaps to state her case, to put out her version of events to the public. Nonetheless, this book read like a list of complaints against everyone who ever wronged her. I feel for Britney, but I do not like such venom-filled memoirs.

This was a great read and a quick one - once I got into it. The chapters are really short and quite impactful. The advice is sometimes contrary to conventional wisdom and I love that. This is a book that could be kept on hand and opened up to a random page. The “universe” might just put out the right inspiration one needs to hear.

I took my time reading this book. What times they lived in! It was heartening to read that while the great evil slavery was rampant and even accepted, there were those who meant as much to their owners as their own flesh and blood, or more, perhaps. Scarlett O’Hara is certainly not your typical heroine; she’s got such cruel streaks of selfishness, ruthlessness and plain spitefulness that I’m shocked. Still, I wish that the ending had been happier. I wish that she had recognised her mistakes earlier, that she had corrected herself earlier - oh well, I close this book with regrets - for Bonnie, for Rhett, for Melanie, for Ashley, and above all, for Scarlett. My only complaint - the novel is too long.
