My dads been telling me to read this book for years and I’m glad I finally got around to it 😂 I loved the atmosphere of this story and the introduction to this world. It was really cool getting to see how many more modern vampire stories have been influenced by Rice’s portrayal of vampires. I also really loved the interview format and thought that was a great way to tell Louis’ story! My main issue was with the Claudia/Louis dynamic, it just weirder me out too much that I had a hard time enjoying it in many parts and I also just think Louis in general was a boring character 🤷🏻♀️ I am excited to read the Lestat books though because he was definitely the most interesting part of the story and watch the tv show!

This was such a good ending to the puckboys series!! I loved the little bits of Quinn that we saw in Foolish Puckboy especially so I was really excited to get to this one and while I didn’t love the whole book as much as I though, I really really loved the last 30% of it!! I just got a little bored in the middle but besides that, watching Quinn & Vance awkwardly fall in love was such a joy! I also just love the collective so much so getting to see them more made me happy!

This was really great!! I loved the werewolf storyline as well as the auto immune, trans, and queer rep! The art style was great and it was really cool that both authors illustrated but their art styles mixed so well. I think it ended really great but I would love to see more of their story or even just more stories in this universe!

I enjoyed this way more than I expected! I’ve never been a fan of the original Romeo & Juliet story but I’ve always loved twists on their story and forbidden love in general so this one sounded intriguing! I loved the back and forth between time and getting to see the mystery unfold in that way! I also really loved that the Romeo & Gulietta in this story had more of a story and not just knowing each other for a few days and then dying for each other lol and Julie’s story in the present time was so good! My only complaint is that it’s a very long book and there were times when it dragged a little. Overall though, I really enjoyed this one!

I just love The Bayview Crew so much and while I hated seeing them go through so much again, I loved getting to be back with them! I thought this was a great conclusion to the series! I didn’t love the overall mystery of this one, it just wasn’t my favorite after how good the first two were but I still think it was a pretty solid mystery and kind of brought the whole overall story full circle. I think having Addy, Nate, & Phoebe be the pov characters was a perfect choice and I love the endings each of them had! I also just love how much this group became a family and you can really see how much they all love each other in this final installment!

I’ve seen so many mixed reviews on this one so I was a little nervous going in but I loved this! It was a great mix of horror and humor and kept me on the edge of my seat and guessing the entire book! I loved the friendship between Cole & Dearie, I think so many stories focus on solely the romance aspect of love and put friendship on the back burner and this book was very much the opposite of that. Cole & Dearie’s friendship was very much front and center and you could just tell how important they are to each other! I also loved that a huge focus of this story was loneliness and the specific emphasis on queer loneliness and how having other queer people in your life brings a solidarity that gives you a little more closeness with each other! Just thought this was a very solid story and a perfect read for this time of year!

Omg I loved this book so much 😭 Rome & Damien are just perfect for each other and watching them grow together reluctantly and inevitably was just such a privilege!! Both of these boys have trauma and issues that are heavy and shaped their lives in so many ways. While at first, they struggled to understand each other, coming from completely different worlds, as they got to know each other, their connection was undeniable! And even though they’re young, it’s obvious that they’re meant to be together!! I have more I want to say later so full rtc!

I’ve been curious about this book for awhile and didn’t realize how short it was until recently so I finally decided to pick it up and I really enjoyed it!! I always struggle with classics because I always feel like I’m not smart enough to understand what the story is trying to say and while I might not have fully understood this one either, I had a fun time reading it! I love that this is one of the first vampire stories and it’s unmistakably sapphic and it was written in the 1800s! I also loved getting to see how so many other famous vampires were inspired by Carmilla. Just a very short, atmospheric read that’s perfect for spooky season!

I’m honestly not sure how to explain how I felt about this book, like it wasn’t bad but it was very confusing and quite slow. I think the horror aspect and the imagery was really great and very disturbing and I loved the idea of the story but that’s about it? There were times where I felt like the story was really dragging, which isn’t always a bad thing with slow burn horror but the rest of the time, I just rarely understood what was going on. So I personally wouldn’t recommend this one but I also don’t not recommend it. I think it’s one that could be really good for some readers, it just wasn’t for me 🤷🏻♀️

Carrie is one of my favorite horror movies (the original & the updated one) so I’ve been meaning to read the book for years and just never got around to it 🙈 It’s a very quick read and both movies follow the plot pretty religiously so I really liked that! I loved the way the story was told through mainly clips from articles and interviews but also first hand accounts from different characters! I think my only issue is that I don’t think I love the way Stephen King writes? Like the two stories of his I’ve read are great and super interesting but he very much writes like a privileged white man in the 70s, which isn’t a bad thing per say but just isn’t really my cup of tea either lol but overall I’m glad I finally got around to this one and it was perfect for spooky season!
