This book was really good! I read the whole thing in one day, I just did not want to stop reading. That is how much I enjoyed it! I thought it was funny and interesting and riveting and all the things I want my books to be like.
I liked how strong Jessica was. She was stubborn and spunky and pretty awesome, if you ask me. Then we get to Lucius. Hmm where do I start with him? He bugged me...a lot at the start of the story. He was arrogant and rude and pretentious. Then as I was reading further into the story, he grew on me. He started to change, he was less arrogant and more understanding and maybe even a little charming. I really loved that Jessica seemed to be having such a positive effect on him. And I loved reading his letters to his uncle. It made him much more likeable and relate-able to me.
Then, poof! He grew distant again, and we were right back at square one. He infuriated me. I understand that there was a reason for why he was behaving like he was, but he could have done a better job. Found a different way. It was just like Edward in the second twilight book. He was that kind of infuriating. And then there were also some other things that he did with a certain someone from school that drove me insane! I thought he was the biggest jerk ever! Even though he behaved awful towards the end of the book, I loved this story! I cannot wait to read the next one. I was rooting for them to get together so badly! That is how much I liked Jessica. It was such a well written and well developed story that I was so absorbed into it. I devoured it so quickly, and loved it!

This should really be 4.5 stars, not just 4. This series is going to be so great, I can just tell! I loved the first book and as soon as I finish typing up this review I am going to dive right into the second book. I can already tell that I will probably stay up late tonight so I can finish it. This is the kind of book that you can just fly through and never once get bored. I picked the book up and started reading and looked up to find that it was over three hours later and I had just read the book in one sitting. I didn't even know that much time had gone by, that was how much I was into the book.
Janie just has this likeable quality to her, you just instantly are on her side. You can feel the pain and stress this ability of "dream catching" causes her. You just feel for her and are rooting for her no matter what. And then you insert Cabel. I loved how protective he was of Janie at some points. It was really sweet the way he was always giving her food and making sure she was ok.
Then you get to the actual plot line of the story and that is where the magic happens. I love how everything was described. You get just enough background information to bring you up to speed, but not so much as to bore you. The writing is great and I love the layout of the book. It is broken up into dates and times and the sections are each really short. I love that things are told mostly as they are happening and there are not too many words on the page. This makes the reading fly by so fast and it helps to keep everything moving and interesting. There were no long or drawn out paragraphs for readers to get bogged down in. I really appreciated this. And everything was also not as straightforward as it seemed, there were a few plot twists that completely took me by surprise.
This book is so refreshing and original. I really loved it!

This series is really shaping up nicely! I like how realistic it is. Yes, I know, I can hear you asking now "A series about a girl who falls into other people's dreams is realistic?? Yea ok!" But the writing in this series makes it realistic. Janie and Cabel do not ever have an easy road in front of them, and the book does not paint a fake pretty picture of their struggles. She shows things as they are, and I really appreciate that. You see everything they are going through. And yes, sometimes it bugged me how immaturely Cabel dealt with things. But then I remembered, this is so new to him and he is still a teenager. As a whole, the writing was awesome and really realistic. I loved the voice of the book. It really laid everything out on the pages and told you exactly what was going on.
The plot of this one was really interesting too! I think I liked it even more than the plot of the first one. The mystery dealt with teachers and students from the school and I was sucked right into the whole problem along with Janie and Cabel. It gets really intense towards the end of the book, but I was pleased with the way that everything turned out.
Cabel is just so loyal. I love that about him. He really loves Janie and even though that scares him so much- he never stops looking out for her. It is just so sweet to see. I was rooting for the two of them so much in this book. I just wanted to see them get their happy ending.
This series is addictive. I read them all back to back in just two days. They are pretty short reads and I find myself wanting so much more of them! Great book and a really great series!

I am so sad to see this series is over. I want so much more of it. I really liked this series. This one dealt with some serious issues and hard choices. None of the characters had an easy time. I really just wanted Janie and Cabel to be able to sit back and relax and get they happily ever after for this book. I wanted to read about their good times. But their struggles were not over. I went through every emotion with them. I really felt their pain, and happiness, and love. It was beautiful.
You get to learn a lot more about dream catchers and Janie in this book. That was really interesting. I don't want this to be the end. I was kind of sad at the way the book ended, because I felt like it still left some gaps. There is so much unknown about all the character's futures. I liked how it ended somewhat hopeful but it was so vague. In my crazy book mind, to me this means that there is room for more books- more stories about Janie! I know this is a trilogy but hey, a girl can hope! :) I just cannot get enough of these books. I loved them. They are an interesting and really well done story. Lisa McMann did an amazing job!
Stop by my blog on June 17th. I will be giving away a copy of Gone! :)

Can I just say how much I LOVE Meg Cabot??! She is my favorite author. She is amazing and her books never fail to put me in a good mood! I know that I can pick up any book of hers confidently, knowing that I will enjoy it. This book was no different. It looks like it is going to be a GREAT series! This book did a really nice job of setting everything up and from the way this book ended, I cannot wait to read the next book ASAP!
I am loving my mythology books recently and this is such a great addition to their ranks. After reading The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter I kind of fell in love with Hades. So I could not wait to pick up another underworld mythology series. This book was very different than The Goddess Test, but it was equally wonderful!
I liked the setting. I am from Florida so I know the keys area well and I liked seeing everything come to life in a setting that I could easily imagine. Pierce is really cool, and I felt so bad for her that trouble always seems to follow her around, and as a result people don't think very highly of her. I hate it when character's that I like get a bad rep by the other characters. I do hope they get what they deserve in the other books. And there is just something about John...I want to see more of him, for sure!
Abandoned incorporates the concept of the Furies into this book, and I really enjoyed that aspect. It was a good addition to the mythology. I was interested in this book from page one, but once I got to the middle of the book I could not put it down. I seriously did not even want to stop reading to go and eat dinner with my family.
Great book, this series looks like it is going to be AWESOME!

This book was alright. It was a fast read, and it was interesting enough. But nothing really popped out at me. I sat down to read this book and a few hours later I was done, and while it held my interest for me to read it all in one shot, it didn't do too much else for me. I read this book as part of a read-a-thon, so maybe that was why I read it all in one shot. I liked the characters and the concept intrigues me, but nothing major happened for me. It didn't make me feel overly happy, or sad or excited.
That's not to say it was a bad book, it was well written and a good read. I just did not love it. I like my books to grab my emotions- to make me feel something. Whether it is happiness, or being surprised, and even if it is anger at a character or sadness. I just want to be engaged in what I am reading. There were not many twists and turns. It was a predictable read, pleasant enough- but steady throughout the whole book.
I liked the main character towards the end, when she grew a little bit and started to care about other people- but for most of the book she was kind of cold. That might have been my real problem with the book. I am a sucker for main characters. I want to become their biggest fan and their best friend. But to do that I need to connect with them or relate to them at some level. It was really hard to do that here. Cass was really unapproachable. Tim was nice, but also kind of annoying at times. I was able to relate to him more than Cass though, for the most part.
I think my favorite part of the book were the ghosts. The Ghosts that Cass talks to at school are funny, and I loved how into the gossip and drama they were. And Cass's sister was also a more dynamic character than Cass was for me. I would like to read more about the Ghosts. And if Cass sticks to her revelations and breakthroughs she found at the end of the book, I would probably really enjoy reading more stories about her.
The author did a good job with the writing in this book and for that reason I would definitely give another one of her books a try.

This series is really shaping up. I'm starting to really get into the books. When I finished book one, I was just reading book two partly to see where it went, but mostly just because I already had the second book in the series. Now I am actually into the series and I want to know what is going to happen next. I am really, really liking it!
I am so happy that the series is grabbing my attention. I enjoyed the last book and I liked this one just as much! I love that Claire is uncovering some more secrets about the vampires, and along the way she gets to meet this really cool/scary/crazy vampire. I can't wait to see what is going to happen next with some of the "secrets" she found out about, and her continuing research. Claire belongs in a school/research lab and I think with the new developments she will be able to stay in one for a while. I loved that this happened! It should be interesting.
Ok, so now is when the mid-series review slump hits me. I have a hard time reviewing the in-between books in a longer series. Because I have already described the characters and talked about the ones I liked or disliked, so I don't have as many things to gush or rant about. So all I will say is...Bring on the next book!

I have been waiting to read this book for MONTHS! I was so excited for it, and I thought it was going to be amazing. Then, there was a point somewhere in the middle of the book when I felt that the book was not going much of anywhere. I was sad, but I kept reading. I was sad for about 5 more pages and then bam! The end of this book really delivered! I was so relieved; I KNEW it would be good. I really, really enjoyed this book, and I can't wait to read the next one.
Wildefire was more of a setup for its' sequel for me. It has a lot of background information about all the characters and it takes a while to really get going, but once it gets there- oh man, will you be happy! The end of this book was crazy! Karsten Knight really knows the true meaning of surprising plot twists. And holy cliffhanger! I have no idea where to even go with this ending. Who do I believe? What is even going on? It's so crazy in such a great way! The last 50 or so pages were by far my favorite and by the way everything is shaping up, the second book is going to be amazing.
I can't wait to see what is going to happen with Ash and Eve next. I hope Ashline kicks her butt because Eve drove me crazy! (even though I kinda, sorta, maybe think her powers are cooler than Ash's. Just a little thought)
Ok, now for the reason that I thought the middle of the book kind of lagged a bit in some parts. I thought that the back-stories for the various characters were a bit long. They lost my interest after I had read the first two. Also, I like cliffhangers as much as the next girl, but a few times throughout the book the chapters ended abruptly. This is fine with me, but one or two times those particular story lines did not really get addressed again. They were just left there or referenced once. I would have liked those mini-cliffhangers to have been better addressed. One thing I did love about the layout of the story were the interludes. I thought that was a really cool way to break up the story and I thought they were perfectly placed. They were great breaks to the story.
Overall, Wildefire is a wonderful book! I loved it, and Karsten Knight needs to get the second book out right now so I can read it!

This book was such a fast and interesting read. I really enjoyed it. It was a relatively short book, but there was a lot packed into under 250 pages. The story flowed really well, which makes reading a book so much more enjoyable. There were no slow or awkward parts.
I loved how the book was setup- there was just enough intrigue and mystery for me to not figure everything out on my own, but it was not so complex and confusing that I was completely lost. That is a really difficult balance to strike in the most mysterious books, and I thought that Solid did this excellently.
I do wish that they would have gone into detail about the teens abilities a little bit more. I was left hanging on what they can, exactly, do. Maybe it will be addressed more in the next book. At least, I hope it is. And I also thought that what happened at the end was a bit abrupt. It leaves me with a lot of questions. I supposed that is what the next book is going to be about, but I still wanted to get a few more questions answers while reading this book.
I thought Jack was adorable, and the stars thing was so sweet. I wish guys were actually like that in real life.
Overall, I thought Solid was really well thought out and super interesting. I loved how the story just flew right along, I never got bored or tired. I just wanted to keep reading. I am so eager to see where the next book is going to go. I think I am going to have to go pick up a copy ASAP. Great book!

T his book was really exciting. It was such a cool storyline, and it was so long it really felt like a true adventure. A TON goes on in this story, and at times it feels like the book is never ending. This really helped me relate to the children, because most of the time they really did not know what was going on around them or what they got themselves into. And not knowing what was in store for them, and not knowing when it was going to end or a major shift in the plotline was going to happen really helped me feel like I was in the Tower of Parlen Min right along with them.
I loved ves, I just wanted to run up to him and hug him. He was so cute. He loses his memory every certain number of hours, how scary is that? I can’t even imagine myself in his situation, and I just wanted to be his friend. Ves can do no wrong in my eyes, no matter what he did throughout the book(the mean remarks and the sporadic coldness ) I was still on his side. I am team Ves all the way. Its no wonder that Vickey and Tammi both liked him. I must say, I liked Tammi more.
A few times in the book, I was reminded of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. All these children were brought in from various places and were put in this magical/crazy/unique place, and they were asked to compete in a competition of sorts. I liked the similarities, I loved the set up for the swords competition. It is a really cool and fun concept.
This is a long book, and a lot happens in it. But it is really long- almost 500 pages, and it does drag on a bit in some places. When the book was getting slow for me, I tended to put it down and pick something else up and read that for a bit. But it was not slow in too many places and I was always interested to find out what would happen next whenever I picked the book back up. There really was a fascinating mystery surrounding everything in the story.
I loved all the detail that went into this book, it made for a wonderful world. There were tons of intricate back stories and clues and secret passageways. I loved all of those things. Every time I would read something cool about the tower, I wished I was there to discover it for myself.
This book was really excellent and what I really loved is that it was a whole story in and of itself. So many book 1s in series that I have been reading lately have been mostly a set up for the series or laying stepping stones for what was going to happen next. This book was not like that- it was its own awesome adventure as well as setting up the next installment. I can’t wait to read the next book- I’m sure it will be just as thrilling and mysterious as the first one.
