I really enjoyed this book. A fantastic combination of slow burn romance and passionate love. The quotes are nothing short of charming.
He took her face in his hands. “My heart calls your name.” - George
It was interesting reading the thoughts from the POV of George in particular in depicting his “madness”.
For the majority this book felt very try much like an identical copy of the Netflix series and plot that from show with no new creative scenes or subplots. I was a bit gutted it chose to exclude the Violet Bridgerton storyline and Agatha other romance too. Felt like a missed opportunity as I had hoped this would flesh out the series more.
I have read plenty of books which I have enjoyed more than their Tv series counterparts from the depth they bring. Sadly on this occasion I don’t feel it added anything special but still a beautiful romance in its own right.
Overall a beautifully written romance though didn’t add anything overly special from the Netflix series.

This was picked as a book clubs book of the month. I was a bit hesitant going in as it’s not like my usual reads but overall did enjoy the book.
It provided perspective on the seeking asylum process which I hadn’t read before and had some very sad moments throughout.
I think this book captures in both its writing style and plot, the themes of PTSD really well however did mean at times we didn’t get the intense emotional depth I had hoped to read. This made me feel like I couldn’t really immerse into the story or connect with the characters journey on some level.
The bomb which killed their son Sami was obviously a sad death but we didn’t get any depth or detail around it to make it feel like a hard hitting emotional book it could have been. I assume this is to portray a desensitisation of death during war but would of liked more to sink my teeth into.
Overall a decent read thought felt like it could have been pushed a little bit further in the depth of some scenes to have a stronger impact.

This memoir was funny, fabulous and full of interesting anecdotes of the highs and lows of Elton John's exotic career and social life. Like any good memoir, it was easy to follow with the chronological storytelling and strong pacing and full of some fantastic quotes.
"I'd rather try and build a bridge to someone on the other side of me than a wall"
Taron Egerton has done an absolutely fantastic job narrating this book, capturing the character of Elton throughout and use of accents to really bring a charm and humour - perfection.
Elton covers topics from his musical career in rock and roll, AIDS support to his relationships and addictions. Whilst written in an incredibly frank nature - which is very on brand for Elton - it did at times feel a tad surface level and would of loved a little more emotional depth.
Don't have to be a huge Elton Fan to enjoy his story and highly recommend experiencing this as an Audio Book.

A delightful and cheeky little book which sets clear goals from the outset to set a strong plot with the 'switch' occurring within the first 15% of the book.
As the book bounces between the 2 POV's I enjoyed Eileens more which occasionally meant i found myself slightly disinterested in Lena's storyline. Eileen felt more well rounded and overall just more loveable. Her interactions with the other characters feel more real and heartfelt.
The interaction between Eileen and Latrisha was so funny and wholesome - who wouldn’t want to check their tea leaf fortune and see a big dick when on the hunt for love .
I feel I may have enjoyed this book more in a non-audio format as having the narrators reading the online dating site message conversations was a bit annoying as they repeated the usernames before each exchange.
Overall a pleasant book, light hearted for the most part. A decent palate cleanser, though nothing overly dramatic that I would see myself reaching out to re-read over other books.

Had to take sometime to fully process this book and am gutted it's over...for now!
I think the foreshadowing made the plot line very clear from the outset -Within 20% of the book I realised Nesta was destined to become a Valkyrie to support a wave of new female warriors and at 25% that she would go on to perform the blood rite. - That being said, it didn't make it any less interesting and really helped keeping the pacing of the book up across the 700+ pages which i felt had been missing from the previous book. The warfare/political plot is a bit of a slow burn but I didn't mind as I found the training and character development more interesting.
The character development of Nesta throughout this book is such a key cornerstone in this book which I think she needed to really round her out as a character by giving her ambition, vulnerability, romance and new found friendships.
The heated intimacy scenesbetween Cassian & Nesta were fun to read and felt really honed in on the wickedness and cheek of the two together. Not some washy romance, but had some nice heat to it.
This book was also filled with some really touching moments within the inner circle.the announcement of Feyre's pregnancy to the boys made my heart glow! Chapter 59 was a personal favourite for this as a reprieve some from of the heavier plot to just focus on some joy in the book.
Overall when i consider the whole series this and ACOMAF are the most memorable so far. Can't give less than 5 stars as I can't think of a single thing I would change!

This was an incredibly unique read. Formed through a series of interview snip-its forged together to create a dynamic story line, I really enjoyed how this format allowed for conflicting narratives, developing relationships and created characters which felt very real.
I was concerned this interview style may be too descriptive to allow the reader to home in and empathise with the character's emotions, but I felt this was better demonstrated in the language the different characters used which was very clever.
There are a lot of characters to get use to and found reading this alongside listening to the audio book made this much easier to differentiate between them as they use different narrators than reading alone. Whilst the focus is primarily on Billy (Lead singer of The Six) and Daisy Jones, there are some side character plots lines to help split it up from becoming too one note.
At times I wasn’t sure which romance I was routing for more - Billy & his wife or Billy and Daisy - I wanted him to stay loyal but also the emotions stoked between him and Daisy felt so raw that you couldn’t help at times hoping it would lead to more… overall I’m glad Billy stuck with his wife as it spoke more to his character development in avoiding risking of his sobriety for his children.
Interesting twist towards the end which wasn't expected as it wasn't one I was looking for but created a new layer of depth to the book which I really enjoyed -when the author is revealed to be none other than Billy's eldest daughter.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and there is something to be said for Taylor Jenkins Reid talent for creating such immersion, that I felt I could be living alongside the 70's Rock and Roll lifestyle.

This book is insightful and full of knowledge in a way that is easy to follow without downplaying the difficulties which naturally come with a job such as this. The fascinating cases kept me hooked and is not a book I will likely forget.
I enjoyed hearing about the progression of pathology cases from his first autopsy as a resident, general pathologist and forensic pathologist and how they were impacted by technological advancements and social pressures. The cases he has chosen to share were incredibly harrowing yet insightful and include some of the wider known unnatural deaths.
Throughout this book you can see Dr Shepherd show the vulnerability around his personal and professional concerns - the loss of his parents, miscarriages and PTSD diagnosis - which really adds a level of humanity to a profession which seems very grim.
Overall, would recommend to anyone who enjoys a strong medical memoir.

This was the funny, cheerful and heart warming autobiography you would expect for someone as charismatic as Alison Hammond.
She captures a beautiful timeline of how she came to be. From growing up with such a loving relationship with her mother, finding passion in entertaining and humour hijinks.
“There is nothing better than a friend, other than a friend with chocolate.”
Throughout the audio book, Alison’s infectious laughter really hits the funny bone when recounting hilarious memories of asking Santa for a Chinese takeaway for Christmas, to celebrity interview blunders and cheeky one-liners.
Don’t be fooled by the witty disposition of Alison, this book is also full of words of wisdom on topics including racism, online trolls and promoting body confidence!
“You’re beach body ready whenever you want to go to the beach.”
Overall this book captures the beautiful soul of Alison as not just a loud and proud plus size black woman, but as a doting daughter and loving mother.
An absolutely fantastic audio book which I wish I’d listened to it sooner!
“A day without laughter, is a day wasted.”

I really enjoyed the writing style of this book. It was very immersive and great at setting the atmosphere of the marshlands. The language used felt very true to reflect the time period as well as the character development of Kya as she grows up. Delia has portrayed the experience of abandonment and love in such an authentic way you really felt for Kya throughout.
At times this book did feel slow paced particularly as it jumps in time between Kya’s experience growing up and the pending investigation within part 1 of this story.
Whilst I had anticipated where this book would lead, i enjoyed the way the mysteries unraveled and enjoyed the end resolved. Having enjoyed my experience with this audio book, I will certainly be looking to get hold of a physical copy to read again in the future.

Raw depiction of struggles with addiction and how it destroyed his relationships and almost his career. Difficult to read such sadness and despair about someone who brought so much joy with his humour and wit.
Surprisingly this book only lightly covered his career on the sit-com friends for which he is best known. This mainly focused on the heartbreaking trials of Matty trying (and failing) to overcome his addictions which ultimately lorded over his life.
The writing felt bit disjointed with timelines of events and at times quite repetitive which made it tricky to read.
Chapter 10 feels like it has lots of word-for-word repetition of earlier chapters and having bad Deja vu - not ideal in a book that’s only 250 pages long
Occasionally it also came across overly “woe is me” - which I suppose is the mindset of battling addiction - but made it hard to empathise with on occasion so for that I doubt I would re-read.
That being said a very good book depicting the scary world of addiction.
