I really enjoyed the writing style of this book. It was very immersive and great at setting the atmosphere of the marshlands. The language used felt very true to reflect the time period as well as the character development of Kya as she grows up. Delia has portrayed the experience of abandonment and love in such an authentic way you really felt for Kya throughout.

At times this book did feel slow paced particularly as it jumps in time between Kya’s experience growing up and the pending investigation within part 1 of this story.

Whilst I had anticipated where this book would lead, i enjoyed the way the mysteries unraveled and enjoyed the end resolved. Having enjoyed my experience with this audio book, I will certainly be looking to get hold of a physical copy to read again in the future.
