After recovering from a myriad of sins in Mercy Falls, Minnesota, rocker Cole St. Clair is ready to take LA by storm with a new album deal and a reality show. But, Cole is really heading to LA for Isabel Culpepper, the ice queen who simultaneously stole his heart and smashed it under one of her stiletto boots. Can a former junkie, not to mention a former werewolf, survive the temptations of rock star life and prove to Isabel once and for all that he is really wants is her?

Isabel has built a new life in LA and a wall around her heart. She tells herself she never loved Cole St. Clair, even though she still thinks about him every day. When he blows back into her life like the Santa Ana winds, can she expect to be burned again, or can these two sinners manage to heal their damaged souls together?

Sinner is a perfect follow-up to the Shiver Trilogy where we first meet Isabel and Cole, but it can also be read as a stand-alone. Perfect for reading on a hot summer night, you will taste the LA air, see the neon lights, and feel the sand under your own paws. Author Maggie Stiefvater is simply a word magician, and each sentence is so evocative and thoughtful I found myself highlighting entire passages.

If you question whether adults should feel guilty for reading Young Adult, why not be a Sinner? Maggie Stiefvater's work proves why you should be reading YA.

After a couple of years in Mercy Falls, MN, rock-star Cole St. Clair is ready to take LA by storm with a new album deal and a reality show. But, Cole is really back for Isabel Culpepper, the ice queen who simultaneously stole his heart and smashed it under one of her stiletto boots. Can a former junkie, not to mention a former wolf, survive the neon lights of LA, the perils of rock star life, and pitfalls of love?

Simply fantastic. Maggie Stiefvater is a word magician and each sentence is so evocative and thoughtful I wanted to highlight every one. This is the perfect follow-up to the Shiver Trilogy and the perfect book to read on a hot summer night. I could taste the LA air, see the neon lights, and feel the sand under my own wolf paws. Cole and Isabel were my favorites, and I'm so glad we get to see how their story plays out. Wonderful.

Did you read Book 1, Shiver, yet? If no - spoilers ahead!

Sam, apparently healed from the same bacterial meningitis infection that killed Isabel's brother, and Grace are living in idyllic winter since Same is no longer shifting into a wolf. As spring draws closer, they hope to find Olivia changing back into a human and hopefully giving her family some peace of mind since they believe she has run away. But, as life often does, things are not so simple in Mercy Falls. Grace is sick, and the new wolves Beck brought into the pack are causing big problems. Will Sam ever get to start his real life?

Ah! I loved this book! I am so glad I gave this a shot even though Shiver wasn't my favorite. The big turning points for me was Isabel and Cole. Cole is so awesomely damaged and I can't wait to see where this leads the series. I love a hot rock star genius, even if he is a big old asshole right now. Isabel continues to be my favorite female; she's brutally honest, doesn't take crap from anyone, but comes through when you need her. I also love how combative (and HOT) her exchanges with Cole are. I see some good ol' drama coming for them.

This book also goes a bit more in depth with Grace and her parents' relationship. When they actually start acting like parents when
Spoilerthey catch Sam in her bed at night
and ban her from seeing him. Not such a crazy thing, and she acts predictably like a teenager. I'll love him FOREVER! You don't understand! Her mom's got a pretty good zinger for this exchange. I'll let you find it yourself :) I sympathize with both the parents and Grace, but I'm old so I would.

Honestly though, I don't see the point of Olivia. She barely made a presence in Shiver, and is not here again in Linger. Seems like a throwaway to me.

This book gave me some nice gut punch moments too. Can't wait for more!

Fluffy, fun Nora Roberts. Thanks for the Star Wars references in this one, but some of the heist-y details were a bit of a stretch.

I had no idea Take Me On was part of a series while reading! Thankfully my lack of awareness did not take away from this story at all, and it can definitely stand alone.

I found the kickboxing and MMA aspects of this novel to be very well researched and authentic (as far as I can tell) and was pleased with the relationship between West and Haley. It is nice to see a kick-ass young lady teach a boy how to fight and control anger, while struggling with her own. The heat factor was also apparent, and I would recommend for those who are 17+.

My only annoyance was the sheer amount of drama these poor kids had to deal with. I felt some of it
Spoilerespecially finding out West's father isn't really his biological father
could have been left on the editing room floor, but overall a great read.

Picked this up for my 2014 camping trip. Yep, a paperback steamy romance with some obviously photo-shopped puppies on the cover. Whatever.

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed this romance story between a 2nd grade teacher and a wounded Afghanistan War veteran. It was hot, sweet, and had great characters that kept it from being too cut and dry predictable.

A perfect book for the type of vacation where I knew I would need to constantly put it down while chasing a two year old on the beach.

Good messages, a strong chemistry between the two main characters, and a healthy teen relationship that was based on respect and love. But, I didn't really believe in psychology aspects of Echo's treatment and the dialogue also started to grate on me by the end. If I had to read "nymph" one more time I thought I may vomit. Later titles in this series are stronger, but I would hand this to older (15+) teens who like emotional, dramatic, contemporary romances. There are some heavy petting scenes but no actual sex.

Spunky puppeteer confronts her childhood sweetheart (who she believes tried to kill her) while she tries to find the legacy her deceased mother hid in a small Maine island cottage. Taking hints from traditional Gothic romances, this is a somewhat unbelievable but fun tale.

I generally like a cute story about a childhood crush finally realized, but the plotting of this story was really uneven. Too much time spent on cutesy relationship stuff interspersed with various drama filled episodes that were too quickly (and too easily) resolved.

**Reviewed from a complementary arc provided by www.netgalley.com

A classic case of "don't judge a book by its cover." If I hadn't received this as an ARC, I would never have picked it up and I would have missed out on a great story.

When art teacher Shelby tells new neighbor Wyatt (Ty) to stop revving his motorcycle at 2am, sparks fly, but not the good kind. Both make snap judgements; Ty thinks Shelby is a bitch (and tells her so) and Shelby thinks he just another outlaw tattooed, motorcycle-riding bad guy. After Shelby realizes the troubled new boy in her art class is Ty's son, she offers to help this new family who just may help battle her demons.

Sweet and sexy, the dynamic between this couple was surprising and different from most romance novels. Shelby is the one struggling to connect after years of emotional abuse from dead preacher father and I loved how O'Keefe explored Ty's inner struggle to not just be the "lay" and show her he wanted more than just hot sex.

Bravo.

Thanks to www.netgalley.com for the ARC.
