Becca needs a place to regroup, to leave her troubled brother in the care of others, and to forget a man who hurt her. Sam needs to learn that he can love and is worthy of love.
Super cute, steamy, and fun. Shalvis does a great job writing real and relate-able characters. The tension in the story felt genuine, and wasn't just characters lying to one another. Definitely recommend for fans of the genre.

Wavering between four and five stars, so I went ahead and gave it the 5! I definitely fell in love with this boy next door (Braden) and Charlie is super awesome. I love that this book explored having a tom boy embrace a little more of the girly without losing any of what makes her unique.
Nick went to prison for a murder he didn't commit and is then released once firm evidence is found. He is still considered an ex con and has problems finding employment until a famous televangelist hires him as a glorified house boy.
Then Nick falls in lust (what he calls love) with the Reverend's innocent, virgin, blonde, angel daughter. If he touches her, or gets caught anyway, it will be the end of his job.
Reverie is 16, a pledged virgin with a promise ring, and has her pants on fire when she sees Nick shirtless by the pool. She starts rebelling against her strict parents (who are jerks, so fine) by dressing "sexier" to impress Nick, wearing makeup, and acting out. She is soooo in love, and Nick is worth it all, even if he has a trashy ex and a record, and it will make her parents furious. The reader gets her POV through sappy, childish diary entries that made me sad.
This was way not for me. There was no established reason why these kids loved each other besides hormones, I felt Nick's attitude toward the girl who he was more than happy to have sex with constantly before meeting the virgin was suspect, and Reverie basically a stereotype.

Nice to see a unique setting (Kodiak Island in Alaska) and a girl who dresses punk BEFORE she meets the guy, but all in all a pretty standard New Adult romance. The best part is Maya's best friend Beth. I'd love a friend who would threaten to chop kick a guy in the throat for me.
A slightly wonky premise but cute and with lovely sparkling dialogue. A great fluffy romance for teens, but some of the drama around lies, social media lessons, and the slightly unresolved ending may leave older readers a bit annoyed.
I had fun reading this, but not one of my favorite stories.

This was not for me. All of the tension between the main characters was driven by lies and anger. I also didn't like how flying into a jealous, possessive rage that often led to physical violence equaled love.
Guilty pleasure - steamy and cute. Who doesn't love a man who is a sex pot and good with animals?
Phew. I don't know what it is, but I'm a sucker for this series. Ok, I do know - hot guys, cute animals, quirky adorable ladies, and super hot sexy times. Perfect vacation read.
I really love when a young couple meets back up when they are older and still have hot sparks. This fulfilled that completely.
Hot damn, this may be Shalvis's sexiest book yet. Darcy and her former physical therapist AJ have blazin' chemistry, and they are just the kind of couple I adore. They totally have the hots for one another but try to hide it, and wow the tension. Darcy is snarky and prickly and AJ is hot. Yay!
My favorite guilty (not really guilty at all actually) pleasure reading.
