Take Me on
by Katie McGarry
I had no idea Take Me On was part of a series while reading! Thankfully my lack of awareness did not take away from this story at all, and it can definitely stand alone.
I found the kickboxing and MMA aspects of this novel to be very well researched and authentic (as far as I can tell) and was pleased with the relationship between West and Haley. It is nice to see a kick-ass young lady teach a boy how to fight and control anger, while struggling with her own. The heat factor was also apparent, and I would recommend for those who are 17+.
My only annoyance was the sheer amount of drama these poor kids had to deal with. I felt some of it could have been left on the editing room floor, but overall a great read.
