I went into 'The Perfect Child' by Lucinda Berry with high expectations, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my hopes. The story has an intriguing premise, exploring the complexities of family dynamics and the consequences of our choices.

However, I found the characters to be somewhat one-dimensional and lacking in depth. The writing was decent, but the pacing felt slow and plodding at times.

The themes of trauma, grief, and redemption were interesting, but not fully developed. I felt like the book was trying to tackle too many issues without fully exploring any of them.

Overall, it was an okay read, but not particularly memorable or impactful. If you're a fan of domestic drama and family sagas, you might enjoy this book. However, if you're looking for a more complex and thought-provoking read, you might want to look elsewhere.

Better late than never, right? While I wish I had read 'Her Favorite Jack O' Lantern' by Rebecca Rennick during the fall season, I'm still thoroughly enjoying it now. The story of Jack and Sally has captured my heart, and I love how relatable Sally is as a character. Jack is also a great protagonist - his devotion to Sally is admirable and sweet. My only minor criticism is that I wish Jack was still in the army, but I understand the author's creative choices. Overall, this book has won me over, and I'm so glad I finally got to read it

4.5/5

I was utterly enchanted by the world of Lightlark! The author has crafted a unique and immersive realm, filled with complex characters, political intrigue, and magical wonder. The story follows a compelling cast of rulers as they navigate a high-stakes competition, each with their own secrets and motivations.

The writing is lush and descriptive, making it easy to become fully invested in the world and its characters. The pacing is well-balanced, with moments of intense action and quiet introspection.

My only hesitation in giving a full 5 stars is that some of the supporting characters felt a bit one-dimensional at times, and I wanted more depth and development in certain areas.

Overall, however, Lightlark is a captivating and thrilling read that will appeal to fans of fantasy, adventure, and romance. I can't wait to see what the author does next!

The Wiener Across the Way" by Amy Award is a charming and amusing read that will put a smile on your face. The book has a lot of potential, with a unique premise and some truly hilarious moments.

The author's writing style is engaging, and the dialogue is witty and natural. The characters are likable, and the story has a warm, feel-good quality to it.

However, the book falls a bit short in terms of depth and character development. Some of the supporting characters feel a bit one-dimensional, and the plot could benefit from a bit more complexity.

The Cock Down the Block" by Amy Award is a decent read, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The book has some great moments, with a few scenes that truly shine. However, the story feels a bit disjointed and lacks a clear direction.

The characters are okay, but they could benefit from more development. The writing is decent, but there are some pacing issues that made it hard to stay engaged.

The book's themes of love, loss, and self-discovery are relatable, but they feel a bit superficial. Overall, it's an okay read, but it's not particularly memorable or impactful.

A House of Earth and Blood" by Sarah J. Maas is a truly epic tale that will captivate and enthrall you from start to finish. Maas's writing is sublime, with a depth and nuance that's unparalleled in the fantasy genre.

The characters are complex and multidimensional, with Bryce's fierce determination and Hunt's brooding intensity making them a compelling and swoon-worthy duo. The world-building is incredibly rich and detailed, with a history and politics that add depth and complexity to the story.

The plot is expertly woven, with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Maas's signature blend of romance, adventure, and fantasy is on full display, making this book a must-read for fans of the genre.

The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is that the pacing felt a bit slow in a few places, and I would have loved to see more development of some of the supporting characters. However, these are minor quibbles in an otherwise outstanding book.

Overall, I highly recommend "A House of Earth and Blood" to fans of fantasy, romance, and adventure. It's a truly unputdownable read, and I can't wait to see what Maas does next!
