The Long Game by Rachel Reid
Shane and Ilya’s story is sweet and heartfelt. They're already a couple when the book begins, navigating life as secret boyfriends on rival hockey teams. The main tension comes from that secrecy and Ilya’s internal battles, especially his struggle with depression and fear of inheriting his mother’s mental illness. Despite the challenges, their love remains steady—they constantly reassure each other, even through fights. Ilya’s journey through therapy is honest, and his vulnerability adds depth. The emotional payoff is touching, with Shane promising to stay by his side through it all. A tender continuation of their romance, though a bit low on external conflict.

Um… just wow.
I knew a twist was coming, and I had a feeling the Fae she met as a child would play a role—but the last few chapters still took me by surprise. So much happened all at once!
I absolutely adore Earl, the old man, but as Eli… I’m really not sure how I feel about him right now.
Mendax? I love him
And Caly… I understand her reasons, but that one part (iykyk) heart broken.

Brogan and London are absolutely adorable together! I really enjoyed how they met—it felt natural and set the tone for the rest of the story. Their "fake" relationship dynamic was full of flirty banter and sweet moments that kept me smiling throughout. The chemistry between them was lighthearted and fun, with just the right touch of mild spice to keep things interesting without overpowering the romance.
While the plot was enjoyable and the characters likable, it didn’t leave a lasting impression or dive too deep emotionally. It’s more of a feel-good, low-angst romance that’s perfect for when you want a cute and easy read.
Overall, Playbook was a fun, charming story that delivers on fake-dating tropes with heart and humor. A solid 3.5 stars!

Swati Tried to Kill Me with Laughter!
Swati M.H., what did you do to me? Pitch For Me had me laughing so hard I was crying—multiple times! Troy and Sarina's story was a hilarious, heartfelt rollercoaster that I never wanted to get off. Most of the time, I was clutching my sides from laughing so much... and then, just when I thought I could breathe again, the emotional depth hit. There were a few chapters where the tears weren’t from laughter—but those moments only made the love story more powerful.
Troy completely stole my heart. The way he calms Sarina’s fears with both words and actions, and how beautifully he connects with her son Rome? Swoon. And Sarina—watching her find her strength, stand up to her ex, and build something real with Troy while forming a sweet bond with his daughter Pearl—it was all so beautiful.
This book was the perfect mix of laughter, love, and personal growth. Swati, you’ve outdone yourself. I’d let you break my heart (and my funny bone) all over again.

A Dark, Fast-Paced Romance with Deadly Chemistry
Saving Scarlett by C.A. Varian is a fast-paced, dark romance that throws you into the twisted world of an assassin who ends up falling for his latest target—a bookstore owner with more secrets than shelves. Scarlett, with her relatable love for smutty monster romances (same, girl), is a heroine you can’t help but root for, especially as her connection with Bane (aka Ethan) starts to burn hot and fast.
Bane might be a killer, but he’s unexpectedly soft when it comes to Scarlett, his sister, and his adorable niece—a contrast that adds depth to his character. The chemistry between him and Scarlett sparks immediately, making it easy to fly through the pages just to see how their story unfolds. And if you’re like me, you’ll be eagerly waiting to see how Scarlett’s awful husband finally gets what’s coming to him.
While the plot moves quickly and has enough heat and danger to keep things interesting, the pacing sometimes skips over emotional buildup that could have made the story hit harder. Still, it’s a thrilling ride for fans of dark romance with morally gray heroes and fierce heroines.

Cold Hearted Bastard by Jenika Snow delivers a fast-paced, dark mafia romance with a love-at-first-sight twist between Galina and Arlo. The chemistry is intense and the storyline moves quickly, making it an easy and engaging read. I appreciated the smooth flow of the narrative and the gritty world the author built. However, while it was enjoyable in the moment, the story didn’t leave a lasting impression for me. It’s a quick hit of dark romance that fans of the genre may appreciate, but it’s not one I see myself revisiting.

Absolutely Loved Drake and Amelia’s Story!
I loved every bit of Promise Me Forever by Sadie Kincaid! Drake and Amelia’s story completely stole my heart. The moment Drake realized he wanted Amelia, everything changed—he went from being a total workaholic to a man ready to settle down and build a life. I adored seeing that shift in him.
Amelia was hesitant at first, unsure about where things would go, especially since she was his secretary and they had to keep things under wraps for a while. But once Drake made up his mind, she was all in—and their connection only grew stronger.
Their journey had its share of happy and heartbreaking moments. Drake’s past loss and Amelia facing the decline of her own parent added so much emotional depth. It was beautiful how Drake supported her through it all, even if he didn’t always feel like he was doing enough.
This book was emotional, passionate, and so satisfying. Sadie Kincaid nailed it once again!

A Dark, Emotional Ride with Found Family at Its Core
Losers by Harley Laroux is a raw and emotional story centered around pain, healing, and the kind of family you build, not the one you’re born into. I absolutely loved the dynamic between the four boys—Manson, Lucas, Vincent, and Jason. There’s something powerful about how three broken souls and one with a more stable upbringing came together to form a bond that feels like home. Each pair—Manson with Lucas, Vincent with Jason—had their own unique chemistry, and together, they created something whole out of their fractured pieces.
Jessica was a bit of a struggle for me at first. I didn’t connect with her immediately, and honestly, I didn’t like her in the beginning. But as the story unfolded, and more layers of her character were revealed, I started to understand her pain and motivations. By the end, she’d grown on me in a way I didn’t expect.
This story was dark, intense, and emotionally charged, and while it wasn’t perfect, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey. I'm looking forward to part two to see how these complex relationships continue to evolve.
