Remember that annoying friend that you used to have when you were younger that thought he could do everything magic, hypnotism etc. (But really he was just crap at it ?)

Remember that time he told you that he hypnotised his sister? Bwahaha what a knobhead!!!

Remember that time that he decided to do his hypnotism act at the local village talent contest, and you sat there cringing because you knew what it felt like on that stage to have people laugh at you? Awkward!!!

Remember when you put your hand up when he asked for 4 volunteers because you felt sorry for him? (What a looser!!!)

Remember when you woke up and …………………………???

If I say any more it will spoil it for people, please read this little quick book, it is a fab read.

If you get the chance listen to the audio because of the tapes (Ohh spoilerish)

I will be waiting with baited breath for the next instalment of this quirky little book.

I’m not really sure how to review this book, I mean, I liked it, but I sort of didn’t.

It is basically a boy (Charlie) writing to someone and explaining how his days are going.

The book is long veerryy long!  I’m not sure whether it was because I was listening to it but it took ages.

I started to get a bit bored by the end but I have to admit when Sam was telling him that his 1st kiss should be with someone he loved I welled up a bit as that was really sweet.

This is a book about growing up, love, loss and above all else friendship.

It explains that it’s actually ok to be a little bit weird and you can make great friends even if you don’t conform to the typical stereotype.

WOAH! !!!

Stand back everyone this is a cracker of a book.

Sally, Sal for short is finding it hard to find the right words to say. .....a lot!
The reason for this is because she had a really bad car accident and was in a coma, she was pronounced brain dead and her parents were asked to turn her machine off.

Then all of a sudden just before they pull the plug Sally wakes up!
How you say?

Well ......
This is all down to a tapeworm!!
Now I heard you say EWWWWW! I did,
BUT
wait a minute,
did you know ......?

1. All that you need to do is take 1 little tablet brought to you by SymboGen and the Intestinal Bodyguard will do all of the work for you.
This means, no illnesses ie. Viruses, cancers, it even controls your contraception for you!

2. The Intestinal Bodyguard sits in your stomach and just gets on with it, you don't even know it's there.

3. Million and millions of people use The Intestinal Bodyguard by SymboGen with no side effects what so ever!

And so Sally wakes up after being implanted with a little bodyguard and has to start again literally, she is officially only 6 years old.

She has had to learn to walk, talk etc. But she has a completely different personality to Sally who she was before.

Everything is peachy and she is getting along lovely thank you very much until these darn sleep walkers start turning up, banging on her doors and windows.

She gets a secret message that ties to a childrens poem and the ride starts from there.

I could put in loads of spoilers but I won't, read it and take the journey by yourself.

BTW, Tansy ...... Loved her.!

Wow I kind of loved this book, it could have been a 5 but it had my pet peeve in there, yes you guessed it the bloody lopsided smile strikes again ARGHHHHH! !!!!!!

Loved Avery as she wasn't the usual damsel in distress and could actually look after herself without having a man picking her up every 5 minutes.

I've kinda got a bit of a book crush on Cam swoon , he was a lovely man who was patient and understanding, and not a complete muppet a la Travis Maddox.

I really liked the authors style of writing and will definitely be looking out for more of her books. .........oh dear my TBR pile is going to grow again !!!

ZZzzzzzz *poke*
** snore , cough , splutter drool**.....Wipes chin on sleeve .......I'm sorry I must have dropped off ..........

And there ladies and gentlemen you have it!

Do NOT judge a book by it's rating !

I am stupid enough to raise my hand and admit (more than once) that I am a 4☆ whore.....If it has good reviews then I will read it...... Unfortunately in this case as well!!!!

So the stuff that you need to know (if you're bothered) Lucy is a fan of Graffiti art and her favourite artist is Shadow, he is a little bit like Banksy in the UK as that nobody has ever seen him or knows who he is.

Lucy is in love/lust with Shadow and goes out "Shadow hunting" one evening with her friends, one of them being Ed.

Unbeknown to Lucy, Ed actually is shadow and so begins the following of Lucy and her ever so funky friends for 1 night.

I admit as other have said some of the writing is beautifully written and explained so well, but the story is sooooo god damn boring I was checking to see how far I had left.

The narration was just as boring, really quite flat and mehh.

Hey I maybe and probably am wrong, and this book is the mutts nuts, but unfortunately for me it failed miserably !

Ok so after some careful consideration with myself I have decided to only remove half a star (due to the lopsided smile thing) instead of a full one.......oh ok then I'll make an exception just this ONCE!

The reason being is because I pretty much fell in love with this book, even Daemon.

Narration was perfect and made me laugh out loud a few times, the people on the bus thought I was a bit of a weirdo, sitting there with a big goofy smile on my face chuckling to myself!

Anyway I'm sure everyone already knows the blurb by now so I'll give it to you in a few quick notes.

Katie moves to a small town
Goes next door to get directions to FOO LAND (Brought to you by the capital D)
Meets Daemon who is a bit of a douchebag but oh so swoonsome with a grrr dare I say it....Lopsided smile !!!!

Oh yeah. ...........and he's an alien !!!!

Now that's not a spoiler by the way as it is on the book blurb so hold your horses!!!!!

Loved all of the characters and it wasn't a Twilight rip off, I also loved the fact that Katie was a book nerd that did reviews and blogs and got excited about new releases, made me feel better about myself haha.

This is the 2nd book I have read by Jennifer Armentrout and I don't think it will be the last, I really like her writing.

Am currently adding the rest of the series to my TBR pile ..... oh dear more books to read ...Yay! !

This is going to be a difficult one to review, I really liked the book but the subject matter was a little scary for me.

I think at some point in their lives, most girls have had an issue with their body, whether it is weight or appearance.

I for one thought I was fat, I tried the low calorie diet (unsuccessfully) Tablets to swell up in my stomach to curb my hunger, the whole 9 yards, BUT I realised after a few months of doing this that I was unhappy and went to see my doctor.

And I lived happily ever after .........

Anyway back to the book.

Cassie and her best friend Lia have a bet, after cutting their hands and mixing blood (like we all did when we were younger) they decide that they are going to be the skinniest girls at school, BUT they take it one step further and bet against each other.

Thus taking it to absolute extremes, Lia becomes anorexic and refuses to eat, and Cassie who has to eat, becomes bulimic, subsequently leading to her death.

'she died alone in her room, she called 33 times'

Lia is then haunted by Cassie (literally) and has regular visits from her telling her how well she is doing, and how she will see her soon and that they will be together.

The book is very cleverly written with omissions of certain words and her weight (Lia's) down to the ounces.

I really enjoyed the book and it puts you into the head of a person with a real problem, you understand that it is not just a case of shaking them, and making them eat a burger.

I also think that if you are that way inclined though it could be a trigger to some, parts of the book felt like a 'how to' book.

Review

I was really looking forward to reading this book, the synopsis was brilliant but unfortunately it failed for me.

The beginning was really good, very victorian goth spooky stuff, but then the middle was really drab.

Juliet is a young girl who is orphaned, she works at the King's College in London as a cleaner, she used to be well-to-do but after her mother died from consumption and her father disappeared after a scandal, she is on her own.

She is still good friends with Lucy who is still a classy lady, and tries to get her to meet gallant young men to marry her off.

Unfortunately Juliet has a scandal behind her in that her father was the infamous Dr Moreau who was a great surgeon but was accused of doing all sorts of terrible things, thus creating the name in the papers of "The Butcher"

Juliet thought her father was dead although it was never confirmed, and after a couple of clues found at the college finds herself at an old pub looking for her dead father, she instead meets her old servant and lost love Montgomery.

Montgomery and his man servant Balthazar are in London picking up supplies to take back to an island where he and her father live. With this Juliet decides to go too.

Up to this point the book is really good .........

The island is near Australia so they are on a boat for a few weeks and just as they get within a few hundred miles they discover a castaway called Edward.

Now after this point there is the usual YA love triangle and it's ok BUT it seems to take over the book.
1st she loves Montgomery 's rippling muscles and in the same sentence she is admiring Edwards gorgeous sea blue eyes.

This goes on for nearly 3/4 of the book until the end, which is really good.

No spoliers here as it will ruin the "twist" but I did kind of work most of it out.

There are loves, losses, monsters, abominations and above all else Dr. Henri Moreau!

This book is about a girl called Alyson, she is on a school trip around Europe with her best friend.

Alyson is not spontaneous at all, but one night instead of going to watch a boring Shakespeare play in a theatre, she decides to go and watch another one in an underground tunnel, here she meets Willem, who she notices when he throws her a coin at the end of the play.

They get to talking as you do and she tells him that it is her last night in England, and she is going home to the good old USA in a couple of days, she tells him that she really wanted to go to Paris but they never got there as the French airlines were striking.

So Willem invites her to go with him, just like that, and she says ok, her best friend says ok and they go!!!!! WTF!!!!!

Even if my best friend had met a cute boy, I would not let her just bugger off to a different country with him, he could be a serial killer! !.

So they go and have a lovely day, everything is perfect and they have a bit of a steamy moment in an old squat that they broke into........i know right, how romantic!

She wakes up in the morning , and what do you know, Willem is gone!!!! Shock horror, I didn't see that coming at all!!

So Alyson goes home, then turns into Bella Swan for the next half of the book, moping around as she never got to see her true love before she went.

HE DUMPED YOU, SILLY GIRL! !!

The next part of the book was her trying to find him.

I didn't get the book, I was bored with most of it, and I couldn't care less if she found him or not.

The descriptions of the places she visits are very well written, and you could nearly feel yourself sitting in a cafè in Paris drinking coffee and watching the world go by.

As for the story, I was angry for a lot of it Alyson was selfish, yes, her phone didn't work as it wasn't quad banded, but she knew how to use a payphone when the shit hit the fan and she was left on her own, so why not a little call to her friend to say Hi it's me, having a lovely time and I'm not dead, bye? It was all me, me, me!

This book was ok, however it was reeaallyy long, 23hrs in fact !!

In that 23 hrs. we find out a few things, but nothing that couldn’t have been condensed into 12.

 Basically the premise is this:

At school one day in his class Sam notices that his teacher just disappeared, also so did some of his friends in his class, all of the kids over 15!

Other people start to notice and then it becomes clear that it is not just in his class that this had happened but all over the town, there are no adults and nobody over the age of 15.

At first it is brilliant for them, no adults they can do what they like, eat what they want etc., however it then slowly dawns on them that this will also include their parents, and who will cook, clean etc. for them.

Then after all of that they start to turn on each other, I mean someone has got to be in charge right?

A lot of kids turn to Sam as he rescued the driver of a school bus one summer after he had a heart attack while driving.

Other kids don’t want Sam to be in charge and use their powers to get what they want…………….

What’s that ???

Oh yeah didn’t I mention that some of the kids after the ‘Phase’ developed super powers? Sorry about that !

So there you have it, kids alone, no adults, super powers, oh and talking animals!!

What could possibly go wrong?
