Cute, very short, and all I could wonder was WHERE WERE THE CHAPERONES? šŸ˜‚

I do love a rogue who is more than meets the eye! The age gap in this was a little more intense than I expected but it was sweet and I enjoyed Eliza and Harry together, each coming to new conclusions about the other over time.

Solid but definitely lacking the humor and tightness of plot in late Tessa Dare novels. There was so much potential for greatness in this but it just didn’t QUITE get there for me. I loved the characters, though, and +1 for both of them being over 30!

I loved how Asa and Eve drew the best out of each other and how Asa was so patient kind and loving with Eve. Her backstory is DARK so please mind the CW for this one. I did think there were a couple of missed edits in the prose unlike Hoyt’s earlier books in this series, but the plot and romance were top notch and holy lord this book is HOTTTTTT.

This is one of the most heartwrenching, beautiful books I have ever had the pleasure of reading and I absolutely ADORED the expansive setting, the intense character work and the abiding love and respect Courtney Milan has for her readers and the stories she tells.

I don’t know how else to say READ THIS, so I’ll leave it at that.

A perfect little mystery steeped in Christmas-time stuff. Amazing surprise cameo from a Lilywhite boy. Also laugh-out-loud hilarious, of course.

Probably my fave Kleypas to date. Having read the Wallflowers I was pleasantly surprised by how much more plot there was in this book vs just houseparty shenanigans and rich people doing rich people stuff. I felt so deeply for Amelia, trying to hold everyone and everything together and getting zero help from her awful brother (yes I know he is grieving but OMG, cannot believe he had me siding with MARCUS on his absolutely abhorrent behavior). I was really excited for Cam as a hero after meeting him in Devil in Winter and I was not disappointed. Who can say no to a ā€œbad boyā€ with an earring and a magical horse tattoo??? Of the Kleypas heroes I also found Cam to be extremely into consent which for Kleypas really shows some (VERY NEEDED) evolution. Don’t worry, old school adherents, he’s still extremely competent and very masculine.

Intensely emotional and realistic - this book is unique in the way it deals with sex, love and the way the two main characters eventually find their HEA. Please mind the CW there are some darker themes in the backstory and the bargain the two MCs make creates some moments that might be uncomfortable for some readers.

I loved this. The character study and sheer amount of awkwardness leading to difficult conversations and ultimately love were so well done and hard won.

Vasti’s full-length debut is sure to delight Halifax Hellions fans. I loved the main characters in this: Selina, the serious, type A, get it done person and Peter, a bit of a chaos demon but exactly the type of sunshine that Selina needed. I enjoyed the discussions of politics and the large cast of characters in this book, who brought a wide variety of experiences and ethnicities to the table. Loved that Peter was from New Orleans! It’s not every day you get to read about an American duke. Lol.

This was a very stressy romance but I enjoyed and felt like Ottoman did a lot of specific research around medicine and medical practices in New York in the early 1800s. It felt very realistic, which made it stressful!!
