This book was trying to tackle some really intense and important topics, such as the history of mental institutions, mental health today, the ways museum's have engaged with such topics, and the unethical ways museums have treated their collections. However, I did not find that this book developed these topics in a satisfying way. The way the board was dealt with was really odd
like I would believe a museum board might see human remains to make money, but they killed the former curator when he found out??? Then Abayomi seems like he was also complicit??
. I just found it fell flat in a lot of ways to me. The art was really wonderful, though I did think the story would be a bit more queer based on the cover. That might be a user error though.

I know this book is one I will have to return to again and again. Each time will unveil a new layer to this world and story.

Loved this followup to the Raybearer duology! The world building was fantastic, and the way we expanded the world while staying in one place was really cool. I loved the characters a lot and their relationships with each other! Crocodile and Small Sade's relationship was beautiful to see unfold.

Now to reread Raybearer and Redemptor!

A wonderful Greek myth retelling that doesn't shy away or completely change the fate of these mythological figures. Instead it added depth and nuance to especially the women.

Good art and nice intro to William Shatner's life. I got this as a gift mostly cause I am big Trekkie so just fun to have!

I love mermaids and mermaid retellings. This was a dark and haunting story that had me gasping aloud at some parts. Really beautiful lines and a lot happening in a very short story. I am not super into body horror and might have avoided this story if I knew how much body horror would be in this, but glad I got to know this story!

The audiobook was read wonderfully by the author. The poems made me cry and think and laugh. I also enjoyed the prompts between poems. I plan on buying a physical copy of this collection pronto.

Really interesting concept to satirize a totalitarian government. Rules that are silly in concept being brutally enforced is interesting. Also interesting to play with language. Towards the end I found myself reading letter aloud to get the words they meant.
