This book was trying to tackle some really intense and important topics, such as the history of mental institutions, mental health today, the ways museum's have engaged with such topics, and the unethical ways museums have treated their collections. However, I did not find that this book developed these topics in a satisfying way. The way the board was dealt with was really odd
like I would believe a museum board might see human remains to make money, but they killed the former curator when he found out??? Then Abayomi seems like he was also complicit??
. I just found it fell flat in a lot of ways to me. The art was really wonderful, though I did think the story would be a bit more queer based on the cover. That might be a user error though.
