Maralyth is a vine yards daughter who has magic and ends up being kidnapped so she can take over Perin Faye as queen. Alac is the spare and a second born prince to the king of Perin Faye. He would love to work on a vineyard. His brother is getting married and his father gives him an amulet to keep him protected until his brother can create a heir. Maralyth comes to the castle and the two get to know each other. Will she be able to over throw the king and his children without getting attached to Alac?
I really liked the relationship between Alac and Maralyth. I do feel like there could have been more magic and not so predictable. Still a good read.

Lately thrillers have been meh for me. I finally found one that wasn’t. This kept me so engaged and I couldn’t put it down. There were so many twists I did not see coming. I highly recommend this thriller.

A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire picks right up From Blood and Ash. From Blood and Ash ends on a cliffhanger on a specific conversation and with A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire we pick right off on that conversation. In this book Poppy is to travel to Alantia and I’m not going to get into why because that would be a spoiler.
Okay, I’m not okay. This book was just amazing. Let’s first talk about the ending. It was not a cliffhanger like From Blood and Ash, but it still made you want more and want book 3 like right now. When I read the last line and clicked my kindle to the next page, I yelled “seriously!” because the way it ended and I’m not okay. This book was a feels roller coaster. You feel angry, distrust, betrayal, happiness, and love. There is more romance in this book than action in my opinion. The action didn’t disappoint though. I really want book 3 like right this minute. I really hope there isn’t a long wait for the 3rd book.

Kit is a serving wench at the Castle, which is a medieval restaurant and show. Kit wants to be able to be a knight instead of a wench. One night, her brother Chris gets in a fight and doesn’t want to do his knight act, allows Kit to go out for him. A video goes viral of Kit being a knight. Her uncle, who is the king and the boss, tells Kit she can never do that again and that knight positions are only for males only because that is company policy. Kit and her friend Layla decide to come up with a plan to allow females to become knights.
I really like how Kit and her friends fought for equality in the workplace. It’s modern times and females should be able to be a knight. It should not just be for males. I loved the friendships that were forged from the trainings that Kit and the other wenches did. I even enjoyed the small romance in it and was glad it didn’t over power the story and take away from the strong message.

Juniper, Agnes, and Bella are sisters and have spent most of their lives living separately. They are also witches. Juniper arrives in New Salem by running from Crow County since she is accused of murder and witchcraft. Agnes and Bella both live in New Salem, but don’t know it and Juniper doesn’t even know they live in New Salem. On the day of the equinox, all three of them happen to be in the same square at the same suffragist rally with different reasons of being there. Something happens and they all collide and realize who they are to each other. From there, they fight for women’s rights and the right to practice witchcraft.
This is a beautiful story of sisterhood and girl power. I loved seeing them trying to make witchcraft a thing and women being powerful. The villain of the story was well done too. I liked the tales and spells that were thrown into the story. The only thing I was not a fan of was the slowness of the story. Overall it was good and I recommend it.

Hudson and Grace are mates. Hudson has a warrant for his arrest by his father Cyrus. Grace most likely will follow Hudson to prison. This prison is a prison that nobody can escape. Will they be one of the firsts to escape? Will they be able to beat Cyrus and avoid war?
Here are the things I liked. I liked the world building and I definitely loved the Giants and their world. I loved The Dragon Court and their celebrations. I loved the friendship in the book. Now, to what I didn’t like. I think a lot could have been cut from this book. This book took me so long to read because it was slow, had too many tedious scenes, and wasn’t entertaining for me. Also, I was driven nuts by Grace saying she wanted Hudson and then turn around and say we need to break the bond. This happened so much in the book that it made me roll my eyes. I felt like the characters got away with a lot of things so easy. I have mixed feelings on if I want to read Court or not since I was a fan of Crush or this book.

Okay, here is some truth time. I didn’t like Chain of Gold. I may not have liked it on its own or it was because I just came from reading Crescent City, so it could have tainted how I felt. I would be curious how I would like it now if I reread it. Anyway, with the release of Chain of Iron, I was originally just going to get it from the library since I was not a fan of Chain of Gold. However, I kept seeing people post Chain of Iron on Facebook and Instagram, so I caved and bought it. I’m so glad I bought it because I absolutely loved it! I loved the friendships. I ship Cordelia and James so freaking bad. I loved all the point of views. The action scenes were great. This book didn’t have much action, but I still enjoyed it. I didn’t want to put this book down. Loved it!

The Push follows Blythe, a new mother to her daughter Violet. Ever since birthing Violet, Blythe thinks there is something wrong with her daughter. She seems distant and doesn’t want anything to do with Blythe, but always wants her father, Fox. When Blythe has her second child, Sam, everything goes more smoothly. Is there something really wrong with Violet?
I got this book because there was so much hype. I for one do not understand the hype. The book felt distant at first because it is told in second person. I read that this book is disturbing and I didn’t really feel that way. It focused a lot on motherhood and it felt dragged at times because of that. I wish Violet was creepier. Also, everyone around Blythe seemed blind to what was going on. I did like the tone of the story once I got in the groove of reading second person.

Eira is a sorceress and her magic deals with ice. She is obsessed with the country called Meru. There will be trials to become a champion to compete Meru and Eira jumps into the chance, but this makes her family upset. Eira is very sheltered and her family is hiding a secret from her, which is why they are holding her back. Will she become a champion?
How her family treated her was so annoying and awful. I hated the reason why and thought it was a stupid reason. I didn’t feel like there was that much character development. It was definitely predictable and I guessed the villain. I did like the world building and the connection to the Air Awakens series, which I still need to finish.

Vishous is shot by a lesser and is brought into a hospital for his gravely wounds. Jane is a trauma surgeon and ends up taking care of V. The brothers end up kidnapping Jane to help V recover. Will V and Jane fall in love along the way?
This is one of my least favorite books out of the series. I did not like the kidnapping part and then them falling for one another. Also, there was barely any action in this book and no really evil person in it. So, that bummed me out. I did like having the POVs of Phury and John.
