Eleanor Oliphant is Completely NOT Fine. However, she does think she is fine. She has her own routines. She does not socialize much. But, after a man’s accident she bonds with a coworker and starts to socialize a bit. Also, she is in love with a man who doesn’t know her, which this project breaks Eleanor out of her shell. She starts to see what life is really like and how secluded she really is.
This book was cute with a ton of humor.

Holy moly this book was even more amazing than Scythe. I really enjoyed getting to know more about the Thunderhead, the Unsavories, charter areas, and tonists. There was way more world building in this book, which made it even more interesting. Also, there were new characters thrown in the mix that furthered the plot and made more drama.
Just like Scythe, Thunderhead imposes those ethical and moral issues as well as throws parallels to religion.
Thunderhead takes place a year after the events of Scythe. The Thunderhead is learning more upsetting things about the human race and the scythedom. He as a powerful and mighty AI cannot do anything when it comes to scythes. So, he must lean on a new character named Greyson to help warn some scythes of attacks and to help him with the human race. We still have Citra and Rowan in this book and the book follows their journeys as well.
There are many twists and turns to the book that leave you gasping and wanting to scream. My heart was pounding in the end and I have no idea where book three will take us because everything becomes a big mess. I really cannot wait to get my hands on book three to see how the series concludes.

Imagine a world where we are governed by an all knowing artificial intelligence called the Thunderhead, which once was known as the cloud. Then, imagine a world with no diseases and no hunger. Also, imagine a world where death is cured and even if you die, you can be revived, I’m so you can live forever.
Well, people being born and living forever is a problem. What happens to the population? Will it be overpopulated and if does become overpopulated what can be done?
That is where scythes come in. There is a separation of Thunderhead and Scythe. Scythes are above the law and can get whatever they want as well as never being stopped for heinous crimes that they may commit because the Thunderhead cannot punish them. Scythes follow Ten Commandments that they need to live by and if they do break a commandment, they may receive punishments from the Highblade of the Scythedom, however that is not always the case.
People fear the scythes because a scythe means you may be gleaned. Gleaning is a nicer word for being killed and once you are gleaned, the scythes will give your family a year of immunity so they cannot be gleaned.
Rowan and Citra are normal sixteen year olds. They both have a run in with a scythe, but are not gleaned, but they peak the scythes interest. That scythe acquires Citra and Rowan to be his apprentices. An apprenticeship last for a year. Then, at the end of the year only one of them will be a scythe and the other will go home. However, another scythe challenges this and gets the Highblade to agree to make it interesting. So now only one can be scythe and the other one will be gleaned by the newly appointed scythe at the end of the year.
I really enjoyed scythe due to moral and ethical questions it imposes as you read. It really makes you think about what if we were ran by technology and get to the point where we know everything? What if humanity does cure death and diseases? Is it worth it? Is it humane to play God by getting to choose who gets to die? As well as other questions. Neal Shusterman sucks you into this world and never lets you go. This book is well written. My copy did have some errors in it, but I know they did a reprint. Also, he builds a world that is different and interesting. It is a dystopian I have never read before and I really wish I read it when I got it back in December 2016 instead of waiting until just recently.

Traitor to the Throne picks up after the events of Rebel in the Sands. Amani is wondering where Jin has gone too and is mad at him for leaving. Her friends and the Rebel Prince are still plotting against the Sultan and trying to find ways to take over the throne as well as go on missions that could leave any of them dead.
Amani meets a new character who is the catalyst to this story and causes trouble. Due to the new character thrusting Amani into a new situation, she has to fight for her life and befriend new people as well as plot.
Traitor to the Throne is even better than Rebel in the Sands. There is a lot of twists and oh my gosh moments throughout this book.

Odessa is a necromancer, which means she helps kill people to bring people back by dousing their dead bodies in milk, then going into the dead lands with her partner, Evander and the dead person’s kin. While in the dead lands, Odessa, Evander, and the dead person’s kin will find the spirit and bring them through the gate. They do this so a person does not become a Shade, which are very dangerous and are considered monsters.
While Odessa, also known as Sparrow and her partner Evander are on an assignment to kill the King and bring his spirit back with the help of Princess Valoria they find one of their instructors dead by a strong Shade.
This brings Evander, Odessa, Master Cymbre, Jax, and Simone to investigate Master Nicanor’s death. People start to go missing and popping up as Shades. This brings them to wander why are people disappearing and becoming Shades. Also, why are the Shades so strong and coming from the Deadlands?
One of their trips to the Deadlands to hunt down a powerful Shade, a person that is very close to Odessa dies, she spirals out of control. She becomes depressed and develops an addiction to potions to feel numb as well as other things.
The Shade problem is getting worse and Odessa is needed, but can she tell reality from hallucinations?
The world building is well done as well as the magic system in the book is intriguing. I found the story enjoyable as well as the characters and their developments, as well as the romances.
I am excited for book two of this series and am wondering what will happen since the book wrapped up very well.
