I just re-read this in like one hour and it's as good as I remembered.

166 pages, 3.5 stars

Call me a millenial wimp, but no, I still don't enjoy reading stories about sexual assault, pedophilia, suicide or animal cruelty without any kind of warning, so this wasn't always pleasant.

I liked some of the stories and I appreciate the commitment to picking authors diversely, and also the study on Hungarian lesbians towards the end. It was really strange to read the last nonfiction study though because it talked about lesbians in Germany not really having mobile phones and I had to look up when this was published.

The photos were also nice, although unfortunately they were all black and white and sometimes it made it difficult to really make out what was happening.

This is a sweet M/M Christmas story with a Black protagonist and nice depression/mental health rep. also lots of family scenes. it does have a sex scene so be aware of that.

People told me this was adorable and they were right.

If you're looking for a short, fun F/F holiday read, PLEASE pick this up. It has witches (and sorcerers), magic, bed sharing, DOGS, and a murder mystery that actually keep me guessing and could still surprise me towards the end. Not to mention the really cute F/F romance with the realistic build-up.

This had some useful stuff, but damn, the typos were annoying.

This is the second book I read by this author and they unfortunately seem to have a thing for both cheating, and treating mental illness questionably. That doesn't make me very excited about the other two books I own by them. Still, this was somewhat better than the other one.

This prequel story was fascinating and complex, but unfortunately more violent than I like reading. Even though I liked this one, I don't think I'll continue with the series. Still, I recommend it to anyone who can handle violent fantasy better than I.

There's no sexual assault, but plenty of torture and child death, so there's that.

this was sweet! M/M romance with friends to lovers trope, matchmaking, a celebrity LI, a questioning teenage nephew, and more.

two weird things

1) there is a nonbinary side character using they/them. Character A misgenders them once, but immediately corrects and apologises, then Character B comments on how it's hard to get used to the correct pronouns because the media uses the wrong ones so often. this was fine and interesting. but then Character A misgenders like them twice more and there is no comment about it?

2) the two mains have sex when the teenage nephew is still in the building and could technically come down anytime?? okay

you know, this story was a mess, but I might have given it 2-3 stars if I wasn't pissed off by the "oh yeah she has BPD so she's a crazy serial murderer" part.

This book is written specifically to help the reader tackle jealousy, and specifically for people in open- or polyamorous relationships. I came into it as an outsider, who is interested in polyamory but has no past or current experience with it.

Still, I found the exercises interesting, and many of them seemed useful for handling emotions, anxiety or communication in general. In fact, I'm going to try some of the strategies in dealing with anxiety and depression.
